Chapter 11
Lockhart's Purpose at Hogwarts, Miss Know-It-All

After spending some time in the pet shop, Wayne also realized the power of the magical creature affinity talent.

No matter how difficult the arrogant creatures were, they would obediently circle around him, and a little contact could tame them.

Not only that, he could also roughly sense the emotions of these animals, as well as the meaning expressed in their calls.

Even though the magical creatures here were all used as pets for wizards and had already been domesticated.

But Wayne believed that even if he encountered wild or more dangerous magical creatures, this talent could still have a good effect.

"Newt must have a similar talent, otherwise how could he run around with a box full of dangerous goods."

Wayne thought to himself.

If he wanted to, he could carry a zoo with him like Newt in the future.

But he wouldn't do that.

Those magical creatures are not easy to handle, even those that look harmless like Niffler can cause big trouble.

Newt has spent his entire life either being a tool for Dumbledore or cleaning up after these magical creatures.

He has been banned from entering dozens of countries by the Ministry of Magic.

Even the United States where he currently resides, the Magical Congress there is very nervous, if it weren't for the fact that Newt had saved the American magical world and helped them capture Grindelwald.

They really didn't want this walking disaster to settle there.

Wayne didn't want to become a hated person like Newt.

Under the 'reluctant' gaze of a group of pets, Wayne pulled up his pants and turned to leave, without hesitation.

Even the clerk was confused.

No.

Not buying pets, not buying pet supplies, what are you doing here to cause trouble.

..

Leaving the pet shop, completely unaware that he had almost been blacklisted, Wayne went to Flourish & Blotts.

At the entrance of the bookstore, a large poster was pasted on a tripod, the greasy middle-aged wizard on the poster kept winking, making many passing witches stop to watch, which was very magical.

Seeing Wayne looking at him, he immediately put on a standard business smile, his eight teeth gleaming brightly.

But actually, Wayne was looking at the lines on his head.

【Four-time winner of the "Most Charming Smile" award in "Witch Weekly", Order of Merlin, Third Class, and Black Magic Alliance honorary member, Mr. Lockhart's latest book "Walking with Trolls" is now released!】

Wayne pondered.

This big fraud in the wizarding world is now flourishing, he has already published five or six books, and I don't know why he's going to Hogwarts next year to teach.

Does he really think he did all the things written in these books?

But when Wayne saw the price of this "Walking with Trolls" in the store, he suddenly understood.

Seven Galleons?

He bought three books of Standard Spells for less than five Galleons, this price is simply extortion.

This guy agreed to be the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, wouldn't it be to sell his book?

A set of thirty or forty Galleons, Hogwarts has hundreds, close to a thousand students, that's tens of thousands of Galleons.

It can be considered a huge sum of money.

After flipping through it casually, Wayne decided to buy all of Lockhart's books.

Apart from the ostentatious rhetoric, the content is actually full of dry goods, after all, these are all based on real cases.

The people in the wizarding world are not fools, if it was all made up, Lockhart would have been exposed long ago.

Asking the clerk to pack all of Lockhart's books, Wayne began to select other books.

He is now very interested in everything in the wizarding world, learning spells is one aspect, but more importantly, he wants to understand how wizards live, as well as some unique cultures.

This way he can better integrate into wizarding society, rather than being a Muggle who can do magic.

As for the Dark Lord...

To be honest, it's not that Wayne looks down on Voldemort, he has fought for half his life, and he hasn't even taken down a school, he's been tricked by words.

He really doesn't find it interesting.

It would be different if Grindelwald came out to stir things up again, at least he has a bigger picture.

.....

"Defence Against the Dark Arts", buy it.

"Encountering the Faceless Monster", buy it.

"Standard Spells" complete set, buy it.

In one go, Wayne bought all the textbooks for the next few years, even Newt's "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" was not spared.

This world's most famous book about magical creatures is only one Galleon, compared to Lockhart's book, it's simply too valuable.

Seeing Wayne buying books so frantically, even the manager of Flourish & Blotts couldn't help but say something.

"Little guy, you must be a new student just starting, these books are not needed for new students, you can buy them later when you need them."

"Oh." Wayne first put a "Advanced Potion Making" into the trolley, then looked up and smiled, "I'm free during the holidays anyway, I'll just read it as an extracurricular book, it's okay."

Seeing his insistence, the manager stopped trying to persuade him.

Wayne picked up another book at random.

"Albus Dumbledore: His Life and Lies"

Hiss, is it so stimulating?

After seeing the author's name, Wayne was not surprised.

Rita Skeeter, there's nothing she doesn't dare to write.

The trolley was already full of books, Wayne finally stopped.

Just about to go to the counter to pay, he caught sight of the thickest book, placed in an inconspicuous corner, five inches thick.

He walked closer and saw that it was "Hogwarts: A History"

Wayne was delighted, he actually wanted to buy this book of miscellaneous notes that appeared frequently in the original book, but he couldn't find it.

The clerk also said it was out of stock, so it turns out there was still one in the corner.

He squatted down and pulled out the thick book forcefully, although it looked a little dirty, the book was new.

He didn't care, as long as the book could be read.

"Ouch!"

Two cries of pain rang out at the same time

Just as he was about to get up and go to the counter, Wayne felt a pain in his head, he had bumped into something hard.

He rubbed his head and took a step back, then he saw what he had bumped into.

It was a little girl.

Her head was covered in fluffy, thick brown hair, which looked a bit messy, she was now holding her chin in pain, showing her front teeth.

Wayne laughed.

With such obvious features, it could only be the legendary Miss Know-It-All.
