Chapter 8
It's Small, But At Least It's Something

Before the majestic Forbidden City,

Luo Yun Chu held a string of candied haws and followed behind Liu Yi Fei and Shu Chang. Neither family had any adults watching over them.

The security in Beijing was exceptionally good.

After all, it was said that even throwing a brick could hit a bunch of high-ranking officials.

Ordinary people wouldn’t dare easily offend anyone, but that was only within the inner ring.

If you really wanted to die outside the outer ring, there would be people willing to oblige.

"Cousin, candied haws."

Liu Yi Fei directly took the string of candied haws from Luo Yun Chu's hand, not minding that it had been bitten into.

After all, they had exchanged saliva… Eating candied haws was nothing out of the ordinary.

She opened her rosy lips and bit into the exposed hawthorn, eating it with a refined air.

Luo Yun Chu hadn’t even spoken yet, it seemed like she was merely informing him, not asking for his consent.

After finishing the bite Luo Yun Chu had taken, Liu Yi Fei shook the remaining candied haws.

"Shu Chang, do you want some?"

"Sure."

Shu Chang didn't think there was anything wrong with the three of them sharing a string. Perhaps it was a case of loving the person, loving everything about them.

She even wanted to eat the bite Luo Yun Chu had taken more.

"Oops."

To put it simply, Liu Yi Fei just wanted to eat the bite from Luo Yun Chu, the rest didn't matter and she gave them all to Shu Chang.

Luo Yun Chu glanced at the tourists scattered before the city gate, took out his old MP3 from his pocket, put on his headphones, and listened to music.

The song was "Double Section Staff," from Jay Chou's newly released album "Fantasia" last year.

He didn't know how others had come to like him, but Luo Yun Chu genuinely started to enjoy Jay Chou's style after listening to "Double Section Staff."

He didn't chase stars, as long as the song was good, anyone could listen.

Speaking of which, it seemed like he could try to pursue a singing career himself, after all, it was only 2002.

His mind was overflowing with golden tunes.

In the future, almost every star would pursue a film, television, and music career to make money or increase their fame.

Even his cousin, Liu Yi Fei, had released several albums.

But without exception, they all flopped.

Liu Yi Fei and Shu Chang walked ahead hand in hand, turning around to see that Luo Yun Chu was still slowly trailing behind.

They wanted to say something, but when they saw their cousin’s face that could bring down nations… well, maybe they were just walking too fast!

The three mainly wandered around the Forbidden City, and the next day they got up early to watch the raising of the national flag.

During this time, Liu Yi Fei repeatedly took Luo Yun Chu to secluded spots and secretly ate the forbidden fruit.

Over time, Luo Yun Chu wasn't so eager anymore, but his cousin became addicted to it.

She would even sneak into his room at night, always on edge.

This lifestyle continued until the end of August, when the production crew announced that filming would officially begin.

On the last night, in the soft bed of the bedroom,

Liu Yi Fei kissed him as usual, but Luo Yun Chu had a different idea.

His hands didn't stay still as usual, but instead, they slowly moved up his waist, attempting to reach the forbidden line.

Liu Yi Fei's body stiffened, not stopping him, but just shyly said,

"Cousin, you're bad."

"Do you like it?"

Luo Yun Chu asked after achieving his goal.

Liu Yi Fei breathed heavily and hummed a soft "yes," unable to restrain herself.

Liu Yi Fei hugged Luo Yun Chu’s head and hummed and groaned, she still felt a sense of accomplishment seeing her cousin lost in her.

Unfortunately, her mother was coming to check on them, she couldn't hug her cousin and sleep…

The next day, it was still the same compound, but this time it was bustling with people, the gate wide open.

As soon as they got out of the car,

Luo Yun Chu saw a bunch of photographers surrounding the stage in the middle, taking pictures.

"Cousin, wait for me."

As soon as Liu Yi Fei got out of the car, she wanted to hold Luo Yun Chu's hand, she was already accustomed to it these past few days.

Luo Yun Chu didn't have her courage, he waved his hand forward to avoid her, helplessly saying,

"Your mom is still behind us, and there are so many people here."

"What are you afraid of?"

This evasive action irritated the already sensitive Liu Yi Fei, even holding hands was off-limits.

Was our relationship so scandalous?

She took a step forward, grabbed Luo Yun Chu’s arm, hugged it to her chest, and didn’t care a bit.

Liu Xiao Li glanced at the two of them but didn’t say anything, leading them into the courtyard.

Liu Yi Fei happily said,

"See, Mom didn't say anything, what are you nervous about?"

Luo Yun Chu: "..."

...

The two of them walked together, so intimate and with such high looks.

Many people were drawn to them.

It was impossible not to envy them, those who didn't know their relationship before would truly believe that they were a couple.

Shu Chang emerged from behind the two adults, greeting them.

Luo Yun Chu returned a smile and followed Liu Xiao Li, Liu Yi Fei followed closely behind, acting like a wife.

She only retracted her hand and settled down when they reached Director Zhang Ji Zhong.

The hall was already filled with people, the photographers stood at the back, and there was a microphone in the center for interviews.

After Liu Xiao Li informed them,

She casually found a place to sit down, with Liu Yi Fei beside her.

Luo Yun Chu sat to Liu Yi Fei's right, to his left were Hu Jun, Qiao Hao, and Ma Yu He.

Hu Jun and Qiao Hao openly greeted Luo Yun Chu, Ma Yu He glanced at him but ignored him, rather arrogant.

Luo Yun Chu naturally wouldn't go up to him to attract attention.

He heard that Ma Yu He had already been set to play Duan Yu, but then it was snatched away by him.

He could only play You Tan Zhi, he would be upset if he wasn’t resentful.

Taking back his gaze, Luo Yun Chu looked across to the other side, Li Xiu Qing, Liu Tao, Jiang Xin, Zhong Li Ti, Ji Chun Hua... everyone who hadn't been present the other day was there.

It was bustling inside and out.

After sitting for a while, Luo Yun Chu received a notice that all the main actors would have to go up to give speeches.

There were no scripts, it was all on their own.

Soon, Zhang Ji Zhong and another director stood on the podium, giving a long speech.

It was basically about hoping that the crew could film smoothly and recreate "Tian Long Ba Bu" as much as possible.

It felt like listening to a school leader give a speech back in school.

They babbled for twenty minutes before finally finishing, then the main actors took turns going up to speak.

It was at this point that Luo Yun Chu straightened up and sat upright.

Even when Liu Yi Fei secretly reached out and held his hand, intertwining their fingers, he didn’t say anything.
