Chapter 3
Tony Stark's Concerns

“I can’t believe this was found in the Adirondack Mountains.”

Looking through the night-vision goggles at the male corpse, still with glowing skin, Professor Jimmy was both shocked by the bizarre nature of the remains and felt a surge of excitement.

He knew very well that unearthing such a valuable corpse would cause a stir in the archaeological community and bring him countless rewards in terms of fame and fortune.

“Professor, this is completely different from the burial practices of the Indians. It seems we’ve dug up a much older relic!”

After some observation, a staff member excitedly shared his discovery.

But another staff member standing nearby was visibly uneasy. For some reason, he felt a sense of dread looking at the corpse inside the stone coffin.

“Professor, this… is there something written on the lid of the coffin like ‘do not touch or be cursed’?”

“Monty, we've already touched and opened this coffin, and there's no sign of any curse being triggered, so stop saying these foolish things.”

Professor Jimmy snapped back, then clapped his hands and instructed.

“Alright, stop standing around. We’ll divide into two teams. One team will be responsible for photographing the mysterious runes inside the ruins, and then organizing them into data to be sent back to the lab for Dr. Stacy to translate as soon as possible.”

“The other team will start organizing the corpse and burial objects inside the stone coffin, and try to classify them by tonight.”

“Yes, Professor!”

With the conversation concluded, everyone in the ruins resumed their busy work.

However, they didn’t notice that the corpse inside the stone coffin, as they refocused on their tasks, its fingers twitched involuntarily.

“Alright, I’ve already guessed how the plot will unfold next.”

At the cliffside villa, Tony paused his work on optimizing the Iron Man suit and watched this episode of Future Videos with Pepper on the outdoor balcony.

Seeing this part played on the screen, he instinctively made a sarcastic remark. He, as a frequent attendee of movie premieres, could easily imagine how disastrous the outcome would be for this archaeological team.

However, despite the sarcasm, Tony hadn't forgotten the purpose of watching this screen.

Therefore, he quickly turned to Jarvis, who was recording and analyzing the content of the screen, and asked him if he had any insights.

“Jarvis, any findings?”

“Sir, based on the analysis of the equipment used by the archaeological team in the video, it has been confirmed that the timeline of the future video played by the screen is likely between 2016 and 2017.”

“If I remember correctly, the Chitauri invasion happened in 2012…”

Pepper raised an eyebrow in surprise, uncertainly saying, “And this future video’s timeline is between 2016 and 2017, which indirectly indicates that we won the final battle against the Chitauri army?”

“If that's the case, that’ll be the best news I’ve heard in a while.”

Tony drained his glass of wine, muttering with a sense of urgency, “I just hope this future video played by the screen isn't from some parallel universe.”

The screen works this way, it just needs to play these future clips from different parallel universes as usual, but Tony Stark has more things to consider.

After all, before this.

The screen had played several future clips that were confirmed to have taken place in parallel universes.

In this situation, Tony wouldn't dare to immediately conclude that the video being played this time happened in their universe.

“Tony, don’t put too much pressure on yourself.”

Pepper knew how much pressure Tony was under, so she quickly reassured him, “There are still three years before the Chitauri invasion, maybe we can find other solutions during that time.”

“Hopefully.”

Tony didn't want Pepper to worry about him, so he put on a relaxed front and replied, then stopped talking about the topic and focused his attention back on the screen in the air.

【Kennedy International Airport.

“Last June, I was hiking in the Annapurna Mountains in Nepal, and I got stuck in a small cave due to an avalanche. I was really scared at the time because I had very little water and food left, and I didn’t know if I could survive until rescue came.”

In the empty parking lot, an Asian man in a brown jacket crouched down, looking at a little boy who was crying because he was separated from his parents. He gestured wildly as he talked about his past experiences, trying to comfort the child this way.

“But the local guide’s child who was stuck in the cave with me stepped up and encouraged me, laughing and telling me that the song of humanity is the song of courage, and that as human beings, we should never be defeated by adversity.”

“With his encouragement, we managed to survive in the cave for countless dark nights with the little food we had left, and we were successfully rescued.”

“So, even though it’s scary to be separated from your parents, don’t lose your courage and cry in place, because your mom and dad and the police are anxiously looking for you!”

“Wah~~”

Obviously, the Asian youth’s words didn’t have much effect.

On the contrary.

Faced with his comfort.

The little boy’s cries became even louder.

Seeing this, the Asian youth couldn’t help but scratch his cheek, then, as if remembering something, slapped his forehead and pulled out a few small balls from his backpack, performing a juggling routine he learned in university.

Suddenly, the little boy’s attention was drawn to the performance in front of him. Even his original sobs gradually stopped, and he slowly broke into a smile.】
