Chapter 22
The Devastating Defeat of the Newborn Kuuga

“Waaaah!”

Amidst the screams, a police officer plunged from a building dozens of meters high. Several officers below rushed to catch their colleague, but the force of his fall sent them all tumbling to the ground.

The officer who had been caught was already lifeless, only two bite marks on his neck betraying the torture he had endured before his death.

Witnessing this tragic scene, the officers turned their heads in horror towards the building across the street.

There, standing tall, was a creature resembling a bat in form.

It was the perpetrator of these murders, the creature labeled by the police as Unidentified Lifeform #3, Zi-Qiang-Mo-Gu.

“Humph.”

Seeming to revel in their fear, Qiang-Mo let out a low, guttural sound.

Then, he spread the membranous wings attached to his arms and body, soaring down from the building and towards the group of terrified officers below.

Thus, the slaughter began.

“Okay, I hate to say it, but I think it’s time for the police department to upgrade their equipment.”

On the open-air balcony of his cliffside villa, Tony, sipping his wine as he watched the officers fall victim to the bat creature on the screen, frowned and grumbled to Pepper, who sat beside him.

“These outdated Glock pistols can’t even pierce through a car’s outer shell, let alone be used against these creatures from the ancient past! Isn’t this just sending those officers to their deaths?”

“Don’t worry, Tony.”

Understanding the concern behind Tony’s words, Pepper gently rubbed his temple and replied, “Didn’t the officer on screen, Johnny, say that the police department has applied to higher authorities for more powerful weapons?”

“By then, hopefully, these monsters won’t be so rampant.”

“Let’s hope so.”

“I don’t have much faith in the efficiency of those bureaucrats.”

Despite Pepper’s explanation, Tony’s tone remained unchanged, filled with dissatisfaction. He muttered to himself, but his eyes remained fixed on the screen, filled with worry.

Clearly, he deeply cared for the safety of those officers.

...

“Beep-woo-beep-woo-beep~~”

As the bat creature continued its rampage, a police car approached the scene, its siren growing louder with each passing second. A figure on a white motorcycle followed close behind.

Just then, an officer was completely drained of blood by the bat creature, its dry, withered corpse left in front of the police car.

Witnessing this brutal scene, Johnny Stone and Red, who had been secretly following, were taken aback and immediately jumped out of the car, running towards the surviving officers.

“Officer! Wait for me!!”

Red yelled to Johnny Stone ahead, waving his hand and sprinting forward, “I’m here to help!!!”

“Red, what are you doing here!?”

Johnny Stone was surprised and furious by Red’s sudden appearance.

However, before he could say anything else, another scream from the officers ahead forced him to focus on the situation. He rushed to the remaining officers, pulling out his gun and aiming it at the bat creature. Simultaneously, he commanded, “Everyone! Retreat immediately!!”

Without hesitation, Johnny Stone pulled the trigger. A series of sparks erupted from the muzzle, and several bullets, glowing with a golden light, were fired with pinpoint accuracy at the creature's dark grey body.

Red, having caught up, opened his mouth to say something, but Johnny Stone interrupted him, “Get back! This is police business!”

He roared, ignoring Red and quickly reloading his gun. He continued firing, but Qiang-Mo’s body, as tough as the spider creature they had faced yesterday, simply absorbed the bullets through the muscular contractions of his body. Only the sound of the bullets hitting the ground echoed around.

“Damn it, it’s not working again!?”

Seeing this, Johnny Stone furrowed his brow, clearly troubled by the creature's hard skin. However, Red suddenly darted past him.

“You idiot! I told you to get back!”

“Officer! Leave this to me!”

Ignoring Johnny Stone’s repeated warnings, Red punched the bat creature in the abdomen as he replied.

Instantly, black reinforced muscle and pure white armor covered his punching fist.

But this was only the beginning.

After his initial blow, Red delivered several more powerful strikes. Then, with a “buzzing” sound from his belt, he transformed once again into the ancient warrior, Kuuga.

“Transformed!?”

Seeing Red transform from a normal human into a warrior clad in pure white armor in a matter of seconds, Johnny Stone looked on in disbelief.

As he stood there, stunned, Red, swinging his fists wildly, suddenly realized something was wrong.

No matter how hard he punched, he couldn't budge the bat creature in front of him.

Moreover, as it took his blows, the monster bared its fangs and sneered, “A warrior of the ancient times, you should learn how a fist should be swung!”

With that, Qiang-Mo flashed, instantly appearing before Red. He swung a heavy punch that landed squarely on the pure white armor of the ancient warrior Kuuga.

Red's body, as strong as steel, was struck with enough force to cause sparks to fly.

Finally, he was sent flying by the blow, instantly de-transformed into a human by the bat creature.
