Chapter 7
Immortal Destiny…!

As it turned out, Mo Yi had overthought things. Mo Luo Xue hadn't committed any heinous act like devouring her brother. They had walked for about a minute before reaching the end of the secret passage.

This was a well-ordered secret chamber, similar in size to the room where Mo Yi had woken up. It was probably about fifty square meters.

The main point wasn't the secret chamber itself, but what was inside. Mo Yi glanced at the piles of things in the chamber and gasped.

Jewels! Swords! Silk! Famous paintings! Everything was here. The firelight reflected off the valuable treasures, making them shimmer. Large diamonds refracted the light onto the golden tableware, producing a dazzling array of sparkling jewels. The sharpness of the swords and daggers seemed to split the light itself. The gems embedded in the handles of the blades were blindingly beautiful.

Mo Yi took a step back, clutching his collar and coughing twice. He felt like he had been knocked back by an invisible, intangible aura of wealth.

Mo Luo Xue turned and stared intently at Mo Yi. "If you nod," she said, "then all of this will be yours."

Mo Yi immediately nodded like a chick pecking at rice. Anyone who wouldn't agree was an idiot, a moron, a fool. This amount of money would be enough for him to buy a house in the Inner Ring.

Mo Luo Xue was utterly disappointed in her brother. After all, he was the eldest son of the Mo family. While this amount of gold and silver was enough to drive anyone insane with greed in the outside world, it was mere peanuts to the Mo family. But Mo Yi, as the eldest son, was actually blinded by it. His image in Mo Luo Xue's eyes dropped another percentage point.

"But the price is my 'Immortal Fate'. You get these treasures, and you'll be forever cut off from the Immortal Fate," Mo Luo Xue said through gritted teeth, revealing the second half of the deal. This wealth had been her own personal stash since she could remember. She was actually a bit heartbroken to give it all to Mo Yi. Don't underestimate the value of food, oil, and salt. And these were priceless treasures.

Upon hearing the words "Immortal Fate," Mo Yi immediately changed his expression. He put on a calm, detached demeanor and softly snorted. "This lowly one sees money as dirt. Cultivating immortality is a matter of supreme nobility. How can one measure such things with money?"

Mo Luo Xue, her teeth clenched in anger, glared at Mo Yi with her beautiful eyes. "How can you be such a shameless brother? You're actually trying to steal your little sister's Immortal Fate?!"

"Just a little share, why are you overreacting so much?" Mo Yi took a step back, feeling a chill in his heart. When was the last time Mo Luo Xue called him "brother" in front of him? It must have been before he was three years old, when he gave her his candied gourd. But now, she was calling him "brother" again. The gravity of the situation was clear.

Mo Luo Xue abruptly turned and stopped looking at Mo Yi. She walked to one of the walls of the chamber and stood there silently.

Mo Yi was stunned. What was going on? Was she thinking about her mistakes? Could it be that his little sister was so adorable that she felt a little upset and sad after being treated so harshly? It didn't fit the description of the legendary Ice Queen... No, why hadn't she shown any reaction when she had thrown him down the well? There had to be something fishy going on.

While Mo Yi's thoughts were still wandering freely, Mo Luo Xue moved. She drew her sword and rapidly struck the wall in front of her! Her sword moved so quickly it was almost a blur, constantly leaving ripples in the air. A current of energy swirled around her, and the sharpness of her blade filled the air!

Mo Yi had no idea that his little sister was actually a martial arts expert with years of training! Truly multi-talented. Mo Luo Xue's rating in his heart rose another tenth of a point, bringing her to 99.1.

Mo Luo Xue sheathed her sword and took three steps back. The wall in front of her split open in the middle. It was a secret chamber within a secret chamber!

"A cunning rabbit has three burrows." Mo Yi's mind suddenly conjured this phrase. A woman's mind was truly meticulous. Who would have thought that there was another secret chamber hidden inside this secret chamber?

As the wall opened, a narrow space only ten square meters in size became visible. It contained only a stone platform and a bronze candlestick.

"You have three seconds." Mo Luo Xue slipped into the space through the wall. Mo Yi was stunned, but he immediately followed.

When the three seconds passed, Mo Luo Xue lightly pressed a brick on the wall. The walls that had been separated closed instantly.

"What kind of black technology is this?" Mo Yi mumbled as he reached Mo Luo Xue. He stretched out his hand to press the switch.

Mo Luo Xue said coldly, "This place has been neglected for a long time. The mechanism is a bit broken. Even I don't dare to activate it forcefully. If you're clumsy and break the mechanism, we'll both be trapped here."

Mo Yi stuck out his tongue and pulled his hand back.

The only light source in the cramped space was the bronze candlestick on the wall. Its weak flame barely illuminated the space, barely illuminating the red velvet cloth spread out on the stone platform.

Mo Yi slowly walked forward, holding his breath as he stared at the red velvet cloth… no, to be more precise, he was staring at the jade in the center of the cloth.

In the center of the cloth lay a jade pendant shaped like two fish, its blood-red color strangely beautiful. It was as if blood flowed within it. The jade pendant had an invisible power that distorted the light in the space, attracting the weak light from the candlestick.

… In an instant, Mo Yi understood why Mo Luo Xue had reacted so strongly when she heard his "desire" for her Immortal Fate. The Immortal Fate was not like braised ribs or potato soup. It could not be split in half or shared.

The Immortal Fate was unique.

"Do you understand?" Mo Luo Xue said calmly, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed and coldly watching Mo Yi. "The situation is now clear. Even after this, do you still intend to 'split' the Immortal Fate with me?"

The secret chamber was silent for a long time. Finally, Mo Yi looked up at Mo Luo Xue and smiled brilliantly. "Split! Of course, I'll split it! But I'll take it all."

Without hesitation, Mo Yi reached out and snatched the jade pendant. The moment he touched it, a refreshing chill flowed from his palm, straight to his heart.

"You little thief!" Mo Luo Xue was furious. Mo Yi had once again shattered her perception of decency. She finally realized that her brother... had no bottom line when it came to morality.

"I'll gladly accept it. Thank you!" Mo Yi turned and dashed toward the spot where the wall had separated. He raised his hand and pressed the mechanism that Mo Luo Xue had pressed before!

Mo Yi had never intended to reason with Mo Luo Xue. Because Mo Luo Xue was a martial arts expert with weapons in hand, no matter how eloquently Mo Yi argued, it wouldn't stop a single strike of her sword. So he decided to be a scoundrel, to be crafty, to play his strengths.

Mo Yi activated the mechanism, and the wall suddenly opened! Mo Luo Xue's blade followed immediately.

"It's not good to have ill intentions, but it's important to be cautious. Mountains won't change, green waters will flow forever… Wait, I can't finish the lines… Farewell!" Mo Yi raised his hand and punched the mechanism. A loud noise echoed within the walls! His punch was the last straw that broke the camel's back. The malfunctioning mechanism was shattered.

The door slammed shut, and Mo Yi rolled out of the secret chamber.

"Bang!" The secret chamber door slammed shut, trapping Mo Luo Xue's desperate and indignant cries inside. She had been proud her whole life, but she had been outsmarted by Mo Yi. If Mo Yi didn't tell anyone else about her whereabouts, Mo Luo Xue would be trapped here until she died.

"What are you freaking out about? I'm not going to let you starve to death inside." Mo Yi wiped the sweat from his brow and muttered to himself. "I'll just hire some craftsmen to break open the wall later. With all these treasures here, the craftsmen can each take one piece. That should be enough."

If Mo Luo Xue could hear Mo Yi's heartless words, she would probably be so angry she would spit blood.
