Chapter 23
The Great Siscon

“Kill…!” someone said.

The figures charged again! They wielded swords and daggers, their murderous intent radiating. The Road to Ascension didn't need any geniuses other than themselves! Someone had told them that Mo Luo Xue was a prodigy and had presented sufficient evidence, so they united – in the name of killing their future rival.

Mo Luo Xue held her injured neck with her left hand and her sword with her right. Her fighting spirit was fierce! Ordinary women would have been scared into a daze or burst into tears, but Mo Luo Xue was different. The only thing she would do was raise her sword and fight.

She might die, she might be captured and abused, but Mo Luo Xue didn't care. She just wanted to fight to her heart's content! After all, she had a fool of a brother who needed her protection. Though he was a pain in the neck and annoying, he was still her only… brother!

She had reasons, she had faith, why wouldn't she fight!

Mo Luo Xue swung her slender sword! A strong wind rose!

“Boom!” A deafening sound, like thunder in the clear sky, shattered the entire ambush structure with the smoke and mud that flew everywhere! Scattered iron fragments injured half of the attackers! They were stunned by the sudden explosion.

Mo Luo Xue sprinted forward at high speed. In the eyes of a Master of Mixed Yuan, the flaws revealed by these people were fatal. If she didn't strike now, when would she?

The slender sword was like a reaper's scythe as it passed. There was no blood spraying in a terrifying manner or large-scale beheadings and dismemberments. Mo Luo Xue's way of killing was poetic: draw the sword, sheathe the sword! The sword shadow, like a streak of light, was impossible to defend against. Each person who was pierced would freeze, then die with their hearts twisting in pain. For some, it was just a single drop of blood that burst out.

“Bang, bang, bang!” The deafening explosions continued. Someone saw what caused the explosions. It was a black iron sphere the size of a fist. After landing, golden patterns would appear on the sphere's surface. Then came the blinding white light and the explosion.

Mo Yi rolled on the edge of the battlefield. He reached into his bag and pulled out a sphere. He pressed a tiny button on it for three seconds, then threw it with force. Within three seconds, the sphere exploded, bringing death and destruction.

Mo Tianjiao gave Mo Yi these things before leaving. After figuring out what the sphere did, Mo Yi's eyes nearly popped out. This thing was a hand grenade! Dynamite! But it wasn't powered by black gunpowder; it was a condensed element of heaven and earth, a product of cultivators. Mo Yi didn't know where Mo Tianjiao got it.

Mo Yi, with a mischievous sense of humor, named the spheres “Thunderstorm Bombs” because their effect was really like thunder. The iron fragments and massive flames produced by the explosions were deadly!

Mo Yi held the Thunderstorm Bomb for three seconds, then released it and threw it at the feet of a giant who was charging toward him with a heavy axe. Within three seconds, the Thunderstorm Bomb exploded. The giant was engulfed in flames. The tremendous force of the explosion sent the giant flying through the air, iron fragments sinking deeply into his vital areas and killing him instantly.

Compared to Mo Luo Xue's bloodless kills, Mo Yi's were far more bloody. Flames, shockwaves, and iron fragments - each was brutal and lethal.

Mo Yi pressed the button, threw a Thunderstorm Bomb, and remained expressionless. He didn't need mercy. Every time a life perished before him, the burden on his heart lessened, because it meant that he and Mo Luo Xue were a little safer! Anyone who harmed Mo Luo Xue or himself… would die!

Dozens of people were killed by the two siblings. As the last enemy, who was completely terrified, tried to flee, Mo Luo Xue collapsed. Her previous momentum vanished like smoke.

“Damn it.” Mo Yi adjusted his angle, calculated the wind direction and air resistance, and threw the Thunderstorm Bomb with all his might. After hanging in the air for three seconds, it exploded above the man's head. Blood clots mixed with unknown substances scattered everywhere.

Mo Yi didn't bother with anything else. He ran full speed to Mo Luo Xue's side. Blood was flowing steadily from Mo Luo Xue's neck. During the fight, her wound had clearly worsened, and it might have even torn through the main artery!

“Dead? If you're not dead, open your eyes and say something.” Mo Yi patted Mo Luo Xue's face. He forced himself to hold back his anxiety, because he knew that the more panicked he was, the more likely he was to mess things up.

Mo Luo Xue opened her eyes. When she saw Mo Yi's face, she naturally frowned. It was like an instinct – anyone who saw dog poop would frown.

“…If you have the energy to mock me, save that energy to figure out how to survive.” Mo Yi said calmly.

Mo Luo Xue looked at Mo Yi silently. She only turned her head slightly to make her neck feel better. She didn't want to die. Even if she was destined to die, it wouldn't be here, nor in Mo Yi's arms… but it seemed she had no choice now.

“Stop being stubborn. Without someone with medical knowledge, you're a goner.” Mo Yi calmly stated the facts. He chose to accept it. In this situation, Mo Luo Xue would definitely die.

Mo Luo Xue turned her head to look at the sun, which was already high in the sky. Her eyes showed no pain or confusion, only the intoxication of appreciating beauty.

‘So sleepy,’ Mo Luo Xue thought, ‘I’ll just sleep.’

So she closed her eyes, her consciousness slipping into darkness.

“Hey, hey! You idiot! Even if you're going to die, at least say something about your dying wish!” Mo Yi said with a wry smile. Even if he looked indifferent on the surface, his fingernails had already sunk deep into his flesh. Blood dripped from his fingers onto the soil.

Mo Luo Xue fell asleep. As she was about to truly fall asleep, a strange, chilling sensation made her open her eyes abruptly!

She saw a serious but helpless face. Below it were a pair of hands. Further down, these hands were naturally placed on her breasts… and they were quite restless, pinching and squeezing.

“Oops, you caught me.” Mo Yi licked his lips and said, “If you want to chop me up, save it for another day. Even if you die, I can still take advantage of the heat.”

Mo Luo Xue was furious! She treated Mo Yi as her brother! But what about Mo Yi? He wanted to sleep with her!

Of course, Mo Yi didn't want to do anything lewd. He was simply using a common tactic to get Mo Luo Xue to stay awake. Even if Mo Luo Xue was doomed, a dead end! Mo Yi would still create even a 0.0001% chance of hope in that zero percent chance!

“…” Mo Yi lifted Mo Luo Xue and headed towards the Blood-Sweating Horse. He frowned and said, “If you don't want to die, hold on. We're going to find a doctor now.”

There was no further movement from Mo Luo Xue on his back. Mo Yi turned his head and saw a pale, lifeless face. The beautiful eyes were closed, and the long eyelashes were trembling slightly. The reaper's scythe was placed on Mo Luo Xue's neck, and Death was just waiting to draw his blade and claim this vibrant life.

“…” Mo Yi felt powerless. For the first time, truly, both before and after his transmigration, he felt so powerless! This weakness, this inability to achieve anything even with his all-out effort, filled him with immense anger. He craved power. He had never craved it more than he did now. If a devil appeared before him, he would unhesitatingly exchange everything for the power to control life and death.

But there were no devils here, only a brother and a sister.

“Hey bro, need a hand?” A frivolous voice, light and melodious, entered Mo Yi's ears. He looked at the Blood-Sweating Horse in shock… oh, don’t get it wrong, it wasn’t the Blood-Sweating Horse talking, but a person sitting on it!

White robe, white hat, white trousers, white boots. This man was white from head to toe! He sat on the Blood-Sweating Horse nonchalantly, staring at Mo Yi with an amused look.

“Why? Who are you?” Mo Yi asked back. He didn't know if this person was there to give Mo Luo Xue the final blow. He had to be careful, but he placed his last hope on this stranger.

“Just like you… a great siscon!” The man laughed, showing a mouthful of white teeth when Mo Yi was stunned.

There were indeed no devils, but an angel had come! But it seemed like this damn angel was a siscon!
