Four boys burst through the door, the one in the lead with short hair and a hawk nose, holding a birthday cake. He was smiling but his eyes scanned the dinner table coldly.
When he saw that Li Luo Ran wasn't accompanied by anyone of the opposite sex, a wide grin spread across his face.
The girls who had been laughing and joking instantly tensed up. The girl in the red dress stood up and walked towards him.
“Huang Tian, what are you doing here?”
Du Dan Dan whispered to Su Ping Nan, “The Vice Principal's son.”
Su Ping Nan nodded and said, “Heaven if there is love?”
Du Dan Dan held back a laugh and nodded, “Yeah.”
Huang Tian ignored the girl in red, his gaze sweeping across the table. It lingered on Su Ping Nan for a few seconds before landing on the somewhat nervous Li Luo Ran.
“Luo Ran, it's your birthday today. I searched for you everywhere. I even booked a table at the Peace Hotel, but I couldn't find you.”
He placed the cake on the table, glanced at the beer bottles, smiled, and said to the boy behind him, “Old Four, go get some white wine.”
One of the boys walked out.
The wine was brought in. Huang Ping poured it, then raised his glass and said to another boy, “Pour the wine. Girls half a glass, guys full.”
The boy nodded and started pouring, each person getting their own. Yang Pu’s face turned pale. He didn't say anything but quietly accepted his glass.
When it got to Li Luo Ran, Huang Tian shook his head and said, “Luo Ran doesn't drink.” The boy nodded and continued pouring.
The circle of pouring reached Su Ping Nan. He smiled and placed his glass upside down on the table.
“Enough for me. I’m not drinking.”
Huang Tian was taken aback, “Not giving me face?”
Su Ping Nan smiled, “I’ve had enough. So, I’m not drinking.”
Huang Tian's expression shifted. He pointed at Su Ping Nan, “You look familiar. What’s your surname?”
“Su.” Su Ping Nan remained calm. His eyes were clear. His voice was steady, “Pointing your finger like that is very rude.”
Huang Tian stared intently at Su Ping Nan, then glanced at Li Luo Ran.
Li Luo Ran was also a bit anxious. When she saw Huang Tian looking at her, she shook her head, signaling that she didn't know him, to not take it out on him.
Huang Tian nodded, observing Su Ping Nan’s composure and sturdy physique. He smiled, “Alright, pour water for Su Ge.”
Su Ping Nan watched as Huang Tian walked in, his presence so strong that the other two boys were practically speechless.
He sighed inwardly. Without saying anything, he knew that this "love-struck fool" was surely doomed.
“Come on, let's raise a toast to Luo Ran's birthday,” Huang Tian said. Then he drained his glass in one gulp.
Yang Pu hesitated. Huang Tian glanced at him, “Brother, you can find another girl. But you only get one life. Once it's gone, it's gone.”
Yang Pu’s face turned ashen. He glanced at Li Luo Ran and then at Huang Tian, gritted his teeth, and drank it all down.
Su Ping Nan looked at Du Dan Dan and blinked, meaning, is this the “love-struck fool” you were talking about? Du Dan Dan also seemed to feel a bit disgusted, rolling her eyes.
After everyone had finished their drinks, Huang Tian smiled and took a small box from his pocket. He knelt down on one knee and held it up, looking at Li Luo Ran, “Luo Ran, it’s your birthday today. This is a gift for you. Be my girlfriend.” He opened the box.
Inside was a ring. A platinum band encrusted with an oval-shaped diamond, sparkling under the light.
Du Dan Dan, who had initially been unhappy with Huang Tian, now had stars in her eyes. Su Ping Nan furrowed his brows, this sparkly thing had a serious impact.
Su Ping Nan, for the first time, was hesitant. He didn’t know how to pursue girls. He wasn’t sure if he should go over there, beat the arrogant little brat into a pulp, and then declare his feelings for this girl who he thought was stunningly beautiful.
Li Luo Ran’s fair, jade-like cheeks flushed pink, making her even more alluring.
Her long neck slowly but firmly shook, “I don’t like you. We’re not right for each other.”
Huang Tian was in a very bad mood today. He had spent a whole month planning a romantic surprise, only to find that his goddess had disappeared with her dorm mates on the day of the surprise.
Already drunk, Huang Tian couldn’t contain his emotions anymore. He reached out and grabbed Li Luo Ran's arm, trying to force the ring onto her finger.
Su Ping Nan’s eyes narrowed, a glint of ferocity flashing in them. A cruel smile crept onto his lips as he rose to his feet, charging at Huang Tian like a ferocious tiger.
Huang Tian felt a tightening around his neck and was thrown into the air, landing heavily on the table. All he heard were the gasps of the girls.
Before his three lackeys could react, they all felt a sharp pain in their necks and then blackness.
Su Ping Nan strode forward, picking up the mess-covered Huang Tian, and delivered another heavy punch to his abdomen.
“Ugh!” Huang Tian vomited everything he had eaten all over the floor.
Su Ping Nan, like a monkey, moved behind him, avoiding the filth. He grabbed Huang Tian’s hair with his left hand and pulled him against the west wall of the private room. Then he began striking the back of his head with his right fist, again and again.
Blood sprayed onto the wall like it was free. But Su Ping Nan’s face remained cold, unmoved by Huang Tian’s pleas for mercy. He didn’t stop, it was like he was trying to beat him to death.
Su Ping Nan’s moves were swift, lightning fast. Everyone was caught off guard. The scene had become bloody. Li Luo Ran covered her mouth with her hand, her face drained of all color.
“I remember who you are! You’re the Little Red Robe from Wu City! You’re Su Ping Nan!”
Du Li Li’s face was flushed and excited. She had seen Su Ping Nan fight before, and she recognized him. So that’s why he looked so familiar.
