An unknown space, a realm of nothingness, surrounded by utter darkness. Occasional specks of starlight, emanating from distant celestial bodies, could be seen.
Within this peculiar space, a golden humanoid being existed. It appeared human in form but radiated a golden glow. The face was handsome but bore a look of dejection.
“Where...where am I?”
The golden humanoid suddenly opened its eyes, becoming aware of its surroundings, only to be met with confusion. But immediately, the humanoid's expression contorted, as if enduring some immense pain.
“Who am I...? I am...Ye Huang, but...where is this?”
The golden humanoid, named Ye Huang, felt unwell. His current state was uncertain.
He reached out and observed his hands, his expression turning peculiar.
“Wasn’t I on my way back to the dorm? How did I end up here?”
Ye Huang rested his forehead against his hand, lost in thought. Suddenly, a memory surged forth.
“Dump truck...”
Ye Huang finally realized. He...apparently died.
He had been walking back to his dorm at night, passing through a traffic light intersection when he was struck by a reckless dump truck. As he regained consciousness, he found himself in this environment. It seemed he had perished under the wheels of the truck.
However, Ye Huang was perplexed. If he was dead, what was this state?
There was no one to provide an explanation.
“Did I…transmigrate?”
He could only speculate, considering the dump truck method of transmigration was rather popular during a certain period.
“Am I destined to stay like this forever?”
After some time, the surroundings remained eerily silent, and Ye Huang himself showed no change. He was growing anxious. He couldn't stay in this space indefinitely, especially without understanding his current state.
According to Ye Huang's conjecture, he was probably in a state of soul existence.
But if this went on, Ye Huang felt he would go mad.
Just then, Ye Huang sensed a change in his surroundings, a welcome relief. In front of him, a dark passage appeared. Ye Huang, in his soul form, was swiftly drawn into it.
He felt his scalp being pulled, a sensation that persisted for a long time.
“Is this transmigration? I wonder where I’ll end up?”
Ye Huang held onto a sliver of optimism. He had already passed on and become a soul, so he was somewhat expectant about what would come next.
However, the seemingly ordinary transmigration took an unexpected turn. The dark passage, radiating a purple glow, suddenly shattered.
“What's happening?”
Before Ye Huang could contemplate, he was forcefully pulled out. He was flung out of the transmigration passage, and upon regaining his senses, he found himself before a colossal star. Ye Huang had no idea how large this star was, but it filled his entire field of vision, seemingly infinite.
It was rather peculiar that a star should emit extreme heat, but Ye Huang felt no scorching sensation.
He wondered if this was due to his soul state or something else.
Yet, at this moment, Ye Huang inexplicably felt a wave of sorrow, a strange sensation.
“What’s going on? It's like I hear a mournful cry...”
Having noticed this, Ye Huang looked toward the star again. This time, he saw something different. This star was not the color of the sun he knew; it was blue. However, a fiery red sheath enveloped the blue star.
Ye Huang examined this more closely and noticed that wherever the red flames touched, the blue star's radiance vanished. It was as if the blue flames were being consumed by the red, an astonishing sight for Ye Huang.
He continued to observe.
Within the red flames, Ye Huang saw three petals of flame, each bearing intricate markings.
Then...
The moment his eyes fell upon those three petals, Ye Huang was seized by an instant surge of pain. To be more precise, it was a loss of reason. He felt his emotions crumble, a primal urge to unleash, and the loneliness he felt after arriving here finally erupted.
Then came excruciating agony. He lost consciousness entirely. Meanwhile, Ye Huang, his golden soul form, drifted slowly towards the blue star.
A single glance at the flames with their three petals had rendered Ye Huang unconscious, a testament to their terrifying nature.
But before he blacked out completely, Ye Huang seemed to hear a voice.
“Ding, a life consciousness entity has been detected. Do you wish to invite them to join the Dimensional Chat Group?”
With the last vestiges of his will, Ye Huang muttered two words before succumbing to unconsciousness: “Join!”
