Chapter 10
The Tragedy of Annihilation

“Huang Dong, quickly hand over the Heavenly Demon Qin!”

“Xue Mei, quickly take your younger brother and leave! Don't worry about us!”

“Mei’er, you must take good care of your younger brother. Mother, mother will go back and save your father.”

“Little girl, hand over the Heavenly Demon Qin, or don't blame us for being impolite!”

Blood, blood, blood. The entire sky was a crimson red. The younger brother who was swept away, desperately protecting his parents, swirled before her eyes.

Huang Xue Mei suddenly sat up, looking around. She realized she was having the same dream again. Her jade hands clenched tightly together. She looked around, finding herself lying in a carriage.

“Miss, you’re awake? Did you have a nightmare?” Hua Wu Que, hearing the sound, lowered his crossed legs and turned to ask, facing the carriage curtain.

“Troublesome.” Huang Xue Mei had grown accustomed to being around Hua Wu Que. Though this scoundrel’s eyes were always leering at her, somehow, she couldn’t bring herself to dislike him.

She turned her head, observing the surroundings. Seeing the carriage slowly moving through the mountains, she asked with some confusion, “Where are you taking me?” She didn’t even realize that she subconsciously felt Hua Wu Que wouldn’t harm her.

Hua Wu Que was quite pleased with the current progress. After all, this kind of cold beauty wasn’t something you could win over overnight. He responded with a mischievous grin, “Guess.”

Huang Xue Mei was furious. She decided to ignore him.

Hua Wu Que was delighted by her reaction. Humming a little tune, he deliberately avoided talking to her. As they traveled, Hua Wu Que suddenly straightened his face, pulling on the reins to stop the carriage. Huang Xue Mei was confused, but she didn’t ask, out of pride.

A white horse emerged from the forest, its entire body covered in blood. It saw Hua Wu Que, snorted, and turned to go back.

It had a saddle. It was clearly someone's horse. Hua Wu Que, puzzled, hopped off the carriage and followed the horse. He saw Lin Ping Zhi, whom he had met before, lying curled up under a tree, clothed in rags, unconscious for quite some time.

Huang Xue Mei heard the noise. She thought, this scoundrel is not so petty, is he? She looked out to see Hua Wu Que leading a white horse back, with unconscious Lin Ping Zhi on the horse’s back.

Her injuries were mostly healed. She jumped off the carriage, walked over, and felt his pulse. She said softly, “He clearly suffered a major shock and hasn’t eaten for a long time. We’ll find a place and feed him some soup and he’ll be fine.” Then she gently stroked the horse’s head. Even her cold nature seemed to have a touch of emotion.

Hua Wu Que was about to tease her about this rare display of genuine emotion, when he heard the sound of approaching horses. Turning, he saw a group of riders in green approaching from afar. They saw Lin Ping Zhi on the horse’s back and the leader's face lit up with joy. They charged forward. Huang Xue Mei realized what was happening and her face gradually turned dark.

Hua Wu Que was filled with anger. This precious moment was ruined so quickly. Seeing that these people didn’t slow down at all, he picked up a few stones from the ground, weighed them in his hand, and threw them with a hidden weapon technique. In an instant, people and horses were thrown about, cries of pain ringing out.

Hua Wu Que slowly approached. The leader was holding his broken left leg and rolling around. He looked at Hua Wu Que, his voice filled with hate. “We have no grievances with you, why would you attack us so fiercely?”

Hua Wu Que twirled his folding fan and laughed, “How can we have no grievances? You disturbed my enjoyment of a beautiful woman, isn’t that a deep-seated hatred?” Huang Xue Mei snorted and turned away, deciding she would no longer pay attention to him.

The leader struggled to get up. Hearing his answer, he realized that the handsome young man in front of him was clearly a cruel and merciless person. He gave up pretending to be tough and was about to leave, but then he felt a searing pain in his lower leg. He screamed again and fell to the ground. Turning his head, he roared, “Do you really think we Qingcheng Sect disciples can be bullied so easily?!” His voice was mournful, like that of a violated woman.

Hua Wu Que was a little puzzled. “Aren’t you?” He walked over and stepped on the man's broken left leg, ignoring his screams. He slowly leaned down. “I ask you, is Lin Zhen Nan’s family in your hands?”

The man’s face changed drastically upon hearing this. He forgot about the pain, as if suddenly enlightened. “So, you're also after that 'Bixie Sword Manual'! That's right, Lin Zhen Nan’s family is with my master. If you hurt me anymore, my master will surely kill them, and you’ll never find the manual!”

Hua Wu Que nodded. He unleashed his internal energy, instantly taking his life. He thought to himself, “The next big act is about to start in the Liu Mansion. I need to prepare.”

He turned, walked back to the carriage with a radiant smile, and stared at Wang Xue Mei, saying, “The annoying flies have been dealt with. You can pretend nothing happened, Miss, and continue your contemplation.” Huang Xue Mei pulled out a piece of flatbread from her package and ate it with water, ignoring him.

After getting no response, Hua Wu Que didn't get discouraged. He smiled happily, tied the white horse to his carriage, and continued on their journey. Poor Lin Ping Zhi was tossed about on the horse’s back. Passing by a scene of human limbs and a hell on earth, Huang Xue Mei watched without any change in expression, continuing to eat her food.
