Chapter 26
Lin Zheng Expands His Army by 500,000

Australian Mainland

Office

Lin Zheng’s face was serious as he pondered, thinking about the military.

Lin Zheng had a total of ten large Red Alert Army Groups.

Each of Lin Zheng’s Army Groups had about 120,000 troops.

Lin Zheng had a total of 1.2 million land troops.

Lin Zheng mused, “1.2 million troops, most of them are stationed in the Australian mainland!”

“The first, second, third… to eighth Army Groups can participate in the war against Japan!”

The total population of Chinese in Lin Zheng’s territory was between 15 and 20 million, but their IQs were very high, generally exceeding 105. The Chinese dominated the upper echelons of the financial, manufacturing, and commercial industries!

The total population of Southeast Asians in Lin Zheng’s territory was around 129 million. Their IQs weren't as high, but they were brave in combat!

If Lin Zheng were to conscript the Southeast Asian population, then his manpower would be practically endless!

The central desert region of Australia.

In a vast military camp.

New recruits clad in deep green or camouflage uniforms were undergoing training.

New recruits received an annual salary of $1,500, exceeding the $500-1,200 salary of American soldiers during World War II.

The recruits, motivated by their out-of-this-world wages, trained with even greater diligence.

The new recruits were generally equipped with Type 56 semi-automatic rifles, as well as RPG-7s, 107 multiple rocket launchers, and other military equipment.

The recruits also needed to learn to adapt to combined arms tactics involving Grizzly Tanks, Rhino Tanks, and Apocalypse Tanks.

The recruits also needed to learn to adapt to combined air-ground tactics involving Black Hawk helicopters, Harrier jets, and Peacekeeper heavy bombers.

The new recruits' progress was remarkable. With a total of 500,000 new recruits, the first stage of expansion was quickly completed.

Island B, with an area of approximately 35,000 square kilometers, had its largest port, the Kaohsiung Military Port. The port housed four Japanese cruisers, seven destroyers, and hundreds of merchant ships.

This large fleet was commanded by Hasegawa Kiyoshi.

Hasegawa Kiyoshi surveyed the Japanese fleet from the bridge.

Hasegawa Kiyoshi spoke sternly, “The Imperial Headquarters of the Empire of Japan has ordered the evacuation of the B Island colony. All industrial machinery and factories are to be transported back to the Japanese mainland!”

Hasegawa Kiyoshi was entrusted with the responsibility of transporting the factory machinery, and he assured himself that it would be safely returned to the Japanese homeland.

All he could do now was pray, “May Amaterasu Omikami bless us, and grant our fleet safe passage!”

Hasegawa Kiyoshi ordered the fleet to disperse, wary of the legendary Typhoon-class heavy submarines.

“The Empire’s wars, from the Sino-Japanese War, the Russo-Japanese War, and the Invasion of China, had seen its fortune snowball. But now, it was collapsing at the hands of the Red Alert Legion. This fear, it’s like the reversal of the celestial array…”

As he was on high alert, something he desperately wished he wouldn't see happened.

A torpedo, leaving a trail of white foam!

A 1,000 kg heavy torpedo!!

This torpedo was made with a new type of material, and its explosion was twice as powerful as TNT!

Boom!

The Japanese fleet's cruisers and destroyers, the ships with combat capabilities, were struck by torpedoes. With a grating sound of steel, they either suffered damage or were crippled on the surface.

The Japanese merchant ships scattered in all directions, for the most powerful warships had been sunk.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

As time passed, the merchant ships were either hit by torpedoes from submarines or by cruise missiles launched by Typhoon-class submarines. All one hundred merchant ships sank to the bottom of the sea.

Hasegawa Kiyoshi, adrift on the surface of the sea, was heartbroken. He had buried the hope of the Japanese mainland's industrial revival.

Japanese Mainland

Tokyo, Japan.

The Cabinet meeting included several high-ranking Japanese generals.

These outstanding generals, the more they learned about the strength of the Red Alert, the more they felt anger.

Yamamoto Isoroku was the first to speak, “Our strategic evacuation of the B Island colony was a failure. We were unable to inflict significant casualties on the Red Alert Legion on B Island!”

“B Island, from 1895 to the present day of 1941, has been a Japanese colony. Its historical role is significant. A large amount of industrial machinery was not withdrawn back to the Japanese homeland.”

“Those industrial machines are extremely valuable Japanese assets!”

Yamamoto Isoroku roared in anger, “General Hasegawa Kiyoshi failed in his mission… Demote him from his naval post!”

Emperor Hirohito nodded in agreement.

The other generals nodded in agreement as well. Only Hasegawa Kiyoshi, his world in despair, agreed.
