Chapter 22
Swimming in the River! Qiu Fatty is Shocked

Eastern India is a flat plain, with the 2500-kilometer-long Ganges River running through it.

On the broad surface of the Ganges, a fleet of more than 30 Red Alert Destroyers, each weighing 5000 tons, navigate the river.

The Red Alert Destroyer fleet finally reaches New Delhi.

Bang bang bang—

The 154mm main guns on the bow fire in rapid succession.

At a rate of 36 rounds per minute.

The shells rain down on the British Indian Army's coastal defenses.

The British Indian Army's positions are engulfed in flames.

The current Governor-General of British India is the Marquess of Hope, a British Marquess with exceptional military leadership.

The Marquess of Hope disbands the more undisciplined Indian soldiers within the British Indian Army and leads the battle with the highly motivated British troops.

The British troops defend their positions, retaliating with artillery of various calibers.

The British 75mm, 182mm, and 203mm guns fire in succession.

Boom boom boom—

The two sides engage in fierce combat.

As time passes.

All the large-caliber artillery positions on the British defenses are destroyed. The Red Alert Destroyers’ 154mm main guns and ST cruise missiles strike with pinpoint accuracy, leaving only artillerymen's corpses on the British positions.

Governor-General Hope knows that the Red Alert Destroyer fleet is followed by a large number of transport ships. His long-standing military experience tells him that the ships carry approximately 50,000 Red Alert soldiers.

After Hope retreats to New Delhi, the city is besieged by 50,000 Red Alert soldiers.

Desperate, Hope orders the British Army to engage in urban warfare. The British troops build fortifications in the streets and alleys, turning the city into a meat grinder.

Upon entering the city, the 50,000 Red Alert soldiers encounter fortifications. Some destroy them with RPG-7 single-soldier rocket launchers, some call for precise support from the Destroyers’ 154mm main guns, and some call for cruise missile support.

The British defenses in the city are systematically dismantled and destroyed.

Only the Governor-General's mansion remains. Hope resolutely resists, fighting fiercely to the very end, ultimately dying in the mansion.

In a camp of Indian troops near the city.

A Red Alert platoon, armed with M60 general-purpose machine guns, points their weapons downwards.

A battalion of 400 Indian soldiers crouches on the ground, heads bowed.

The Indian troops, in the early days of World War II, had a small number of soldiers, outdated weapons and equipment, low training levels, and extremely weak fighting spirit.

The Indian soldiers are exceptionally relieved to have surrendered. “It's good we surrendered quickly.”

“What's the point of risking our lives for a few dozen rupees a month?”

“Those who didn't surrender are all dead.”

“Surrendering quickly is the right choice.”

The Red Alert forces maintain a deterrent presence in India with 50,000 land troops and a Destroyer squadron patrolling the seas.

India has abundant industrial resources, primarily concentrated in the eastern plains, with coal, iron, manganese, and coal reserves accounting for 6% of global reserves.

India is crucial for Red Alert’s industrial sector. It is both a source of industrial raw materials and a market for goods, making it a vital link in the industrial chain.

Europe.

At the British Prime Minister's residence, Churchill, the great British leader of World War II, is filled with rage.

“The British Empire cannot lose India! The British Empire cannot lose its jewel in the crown!”

Churchill is a strong military man with an extremely stubborn personality.

Prime Minister Churchill immediately convenes the House of Lords and the House of Commons to discuss India.

The members of Parliament are furious. After all, many of them have factories in India.

Prime Minister Churchill: “Gentlemen! This is a national crisis! Our country annually receives hundreds of millions of pounds from the colonies, but now this vast wealth is gone!”

“We must resolutely defend our country's rights! We must resolutely fight!”

Churchill's eyes gleam, and his determined voice echoes through the hall.

Churchill has already devised a solution. The United States may be able to rescue the British Empire. Churchill is prepared to swallow his pride and seek economic and military aid from the United States.

Whether or not the United States will help, Churchill believes they will. He's willing to bet that they will help, or else he'll go three days without eating.
