Chapter 20
The British Naval Fleet! Chubby's Fury

Twenty days later, the weather over the sea was clear.

The sky was a vast expanse of blue with not a single cloud, and the sea breeze was gentle.

British naval warships were clustered on the surface of the sea, their numbers so dense they covered the entire surface.

The Jìngjì Shén Hào aircraft carrier, 182 meters long and displacing 13,200 tons, was the first aircraft carrier in world history.

The Fùchóu Hào battleship, 190 meters long and displacing 29,150 tons, boasted eight 381-millimeter main guns.

There were four battlecruisers, ten heavy cruisers, and over a hundred destroyers.

The British naval fleet commander was Admiral Pound.

“Anti-aircraft defense!”

“Anti-aircraft defense! FUCK!”

The British naval design philosophy was completely different from the Japanese naval design philosophy. The British, whether it be their destroyers or battleships, had exceptionally strong anti-air capabilities.

They often used CL 102-millimeter anti-aircraft guns, 40-millimeter anti-aircraft guns, and 12.7-millimeter anti-aircraft machine guns, all with incredibly fast rates of fire!

Bang bang bang bang, they launched anti-aircraft barrages.

The Peacekeeping Bomber Squadron was flying at an altitude of 10,000 meters, consisting of 220 aircraft.

The Peacekeeping Bombers were more precise in their bombing than the Black Hawk fighters.

They employed BD-8 spear-shaped laser-guided missiles.

One after another, the BD-8 spear missiles fell.

The Jìngjì Shén Hào aircraft carrier, though not very large in tonnage, had eight Sea Dragon carrier-based aircraft and 12 Swordfish aircraft on its deck. These British carrier-based aircraft were still outdated biplanes.

The Jìngjì Shén Hào was hit by a dozen missiles, and the carrier's hangar and ammunition magazine exploded on the sea surface!

Following closely behind the Jìngjì Shén Hào was the Fùchóu Hào battleship, which also exploded. The battleship had relatively thin armor on its upper deck!

Several London-class heavy cruisers, displacing 13,380 tons, were blown in half and sank to the bottom of the sea. Tribal-class destroyers, displacing 2,400 tons, would be catastrophically crippled if they were hit by a single missile.

The British fleet, which had been so imposing on the surface of the sea, was systematically sunk.

Admiral Pound transferred to a cruiser and quickly left the battlefield. Pound was mentally broken, a stark contrast to his previous arrogance.

He remembered the inexplicable smile on Lin Zheng’s face when they had met.

“Damn it! Lin Zheng… Lin Zheng… He was right! The British Empire is in a state of complete decline. The naval fleet has lost over a hundred ships in an instant, and we have lost control of the sea!”

Admiral Pound watched with his own eyes as the Jìngjì Shén Hào carrier, the battleship, and numerous cruisers and destroyers slowly sank below the surface. From now on, the British navy would be a laughingstock… The British navy was the world’s strongest before World War II, but it couldn’t survive World War II…

Europe, the British Empire.

The British capital, 10 Downing Street, the Prime Minister's Residence.

Several of Britain's famous naval commanders were there, their faces full of anxiety.

Churchill sat smoking a cigar, his fat body slumped, his face grim.

Churchill roared in anger, “Fuck! Your! Britain is a famous naval power… It has been the world's strongest navy since 1780! From 1780 to 1941, Britain has maintained the world's strongest navy! The total number of British naval ships was large, more than six carriers, fifteen battleships, fifty-six cruisers, and two hundred destroyers, but! But!”

“The naval ships are old and outdated! Their combat capability is questionable. Are you going to use WWI ships to fight WWII?”

“Look at the Red Alert navy! Their ships have higher performance, and their navy will surpass Britain in terms of numbers!”

Churchill knew the size and scale of the Red Alert navy. He had a clearer and clearer understanding of the global situation, and it was clear that a new naval power was rising, and it was unstoppable.

Meanwhile, on the mainland of the United States, in the White House.

Roosevelt sat in his chair, equally shocked.

Roosevelt was deeply shaken. He was astounded by the failure of the large-scale British fleet. His eyes grew very deep.

Roosevelt became agitated, “God! How did the British naval fleet lose? ...The United States must revise the legislation and build a fleet. America must win World War II! And become the dominant power of the world!”
