Chapter 9
Centaur Template, Abundant Resources

Arrow after arrow rained down, striking the centaurs.

The sharp points pierced through their hides with ease.

Though not fatal, the arrows drew blood, leaving the centaurs bleeding profusely.

A fierce battle had begun.

Chi Li, the goblins, and the elf archers all joined the fray.

Only Su Ye, a mere mortal, could only watch from the branches.

Thankfully, Chi Li was powerful enough. Its ultra-high-temperature dragon breath and dragon scales harder than steel made it an invincible war god on the battlefield.

Ten minutes later, more than half the centaurs were dead or wounded.

Chi Li had also lost about a third of its health.

Although the centaurs couldn't break through its defenses, due to the game's data mechanics, they could still inflict some damage.

Especially the centaur king, wielding a long sword of unknown material.

One strike on Chi Li's dragon scales left a white mark.

Led by Eve, the elf archers had also slain a good number of centaurs.

These creatures, unable to climb trees, were helpless against Su Ye and the others perched above.

As for the goblins...cough...as the lowest tier unit, facing fourth-tier centaurs was like a centaur encountering a tenth-tier dragon unit.

Within three minutes of the battle, almost all of them were trampled under the centaurs' iron hooves.

The remaining battle lasted about half an hour, leaving only the centaur king on the field.

His face filled with grief, he had witnessed the destruction of his army before his very eyes. For a king, this was immense agony.

Su Ye had also experienced this, and he understood this feeling.

However, war, the apocalypse, was cruel like this. If Su Ye hadn't done this, then in time, the same fate would have befallen him.

With Chi Li's final blast of dragon breath, the centaur king let out a scream and fell to the ground.

The battle ended. Su Ye grabbed a vine and jumped down from the tree.

The battlefield, spanning hundreds of meters, was charred black. The centaurs lay strewn about, and the air was thick with the smell of roasted meat.

Chi Li descended from the sky and ran towards Su Ye, seeking praise.

Its dragon head bobbed back and forth, emitting a stinky smell.

Su Ye patted its head, "Alright, alright, good job."

This praise was a great reward for Chi Li.

It snorted and puffed its chest repeatedly.

Ignoring the dragon, Su Ye walked past the battlefield and straight into the centaur tribe.

It was empty.

Eve followed behind, curiously observing her surroundings.

This was the first time she had ever seen a centaur territory.

Su Ye entered the leader's hall of the centaur tribe. A wooden chest sat there. He opened it and found a centaur stone statue inside.

"Centaur unit template discovered, take it?" a prompt sounded.

Su Ye's face lit up, and he immediately answered yes.

He wouldn't pass up this opportunity. Centaurs were five-tier units. While not as powerful as tenth-tier dragons, they were cheaper to train, so he could train more in the early stages.

Besides, what leader wouldn't want more unit templates?

In the world of Lords, conquering a certain race's secret realm had a chance of obtaining their unit templates.

First to third-tier units could be summoned by building training structures.

Fourth to sixth-tier units required conquering secret realms, treasures, or opening treasures to obtain.

Seventh-tier and above were high-tier units with a higher acquisition difficulty.

Also, summoning platforms for these units usually required many special materials to build.

Of course, Su Ye's tenth-tier dragon and dragon nest were exceptions. They were directly obtained through a lottery draw.

After searching the leader's hall, finding no other rewards, Su Ye turned to the warehouse.

This was usually where each territory stored its resources.

He opened the door and found several giant chests in front of him.

Inside were resources obtained from conquering the secret realm and packaged together.

Su Ye stepped forward, ready to open the chests and acquire resources, but suddenly remembered something.

He had a purple secret realm upgrade certificate. If he used it, could he upgrade the resources in the warehouse to the purple secret realm standard?

At that thought, Su Ye was a little tempted.

The centaurs in this secret realm were all dead, so it was now ownerless.

Upgrading now should not trigger an upgrade of the monsters within.

Thinking about it, Su Ye waved his hand, taking the purple secret realm upgrade certificate out of his lord's space.

He tore it apart and used it.

"Successfully used purple secret realm upgrade certificate. This secret realm is upgraded to purple secret realm."

As soon as the words fell, Su Ye was bathed in a dazzling light.

The centaur tribe buildings instantly changed.

The leader's hall became five times larger, and the other buildings also grew and multiplied.

Most importantly, the resource chests in front of Su Ye doubled in size, with mysterious patterns covering their surface.

The change lasted for several seconds and then stopped. Eve and several elf archers ran into the hall from outside.

"What happened..."

Before she finished speaking, Eve saw the surrounding territory indicators and her beautiful eyes widened.

"This...this is the legendary purple secret realm. My god, what did you do?"

Eve ran to Su Ye and stared at him intently.

Su Ye chuckled and waved his hand casually, "Just some small tricks. Now, let's see how many resources this secret realm brings us."

Then, Su Ye opened the unusually ornate, oversized treasure chest in front of him.

"Opening the purple secret realm resource chest, you obtained: 5,000,000 wood, stone, iron, and gold."
