“Yo, finally it's my turn to shine!”
Hearing his name, a boy with a short, spiky hairstyle excitedly bounced into the center of the arena.
“Uchiha Obito, awaken! This time, I will definitely defeat you!”
“Hehe.”
Obito chuckled lightly, stepping in front of the spiky-haired boy: “How many times have you said that this month, Chenz Yue?”
Uchiha Obito, born on February 10, in the 37th year of Konoha, was already four years old, a few months older than Chenz Yue.
He was also the only original character that Chenz Yue recognized among this batch of students.
“Shadow Clone Jutsu!”
Just as Obito was about to retort with a disgruntled expression, the temporary referee teacher stopped him, forcing him to form the hand seal in frustration.
On the sidelines, the upcoming battle attracted the attention of everyone present.
However, their focus was somewhat peculiar.
“Sister, do you think that underdog will let Chenz Yue land a few hits this time?”
A short-haired boy on the sidelines smirked as he looked at Uchiha Obito, clearly not optimistic about him.
Before his ‘sister’ could respond, several other children around them eagerly chimed in: “I think he can last three moves; Obito looks really confident, he must have something up his sleeve.”
“Idiot, he said that last time too, and ended up getting defeated in two moves. I think he’ll last at most two.”
“You all are overestimating that underdog; I bet he’ll be defeated in one move, at most one move before Chenz Yue takes him down.”
……
The mocking voices about Obito rang out from the sidelines, making him grit his teeth in anger.
“A bunch of despicable guys, how dare they underestimate me like this.”
Obito cursed furiously in his heart, his intense anger causing him to glare fiercely at Chenz Yue. He vowed to show those who looked down on him: he would not be defeated in one move.
“Begin!”
As the hand seal ended, with the examiner's command, Obito, eager to prove himself, immediately charged at Chenz Yue.
“Why does this guy get everyone's love the moment he arrives?”
“Why does this guy learn everything so quickly?”
“Why does this guy always receive praise from the teachers?”
“Why can’t I ever beat this guy?”
……
Obito took a leap forward, pouring all his frustrations from the past month into his fist, and charged straight at Chenz Yue.
“Ha!”
Chenz Yue smirked, effortlessly dodging Obito's incoming punch by slightly shifting to the side.
At the same time, he extended his leg and gently tripped Obito, sending him flying.
Obito landed face-first, scraping against the ground in a rather ungraceful manner.
“Hahaha, I knew it! This guy would be defeated in one move.”
The boy who had just predicted that Uchiha Obito would lose in one move laughed heartily.
“Again like this, even though the opponent is Chenz Yue, Obito really is pathetic; he hasn’t improved at all in a month.”
“Yeah, it’s been a month, and he hasn’t even refined his chakra; his taijutsu is terrible. What a big fool!”
……
Watching Obito lying on the ground covering his face, the crowd once again burst into laughter at his performance.
“Are you okay? Don’t be so foolish and charge in without holding back like that.”
Chenz Yue walked over to Obito and extended a friendly hand: “At this rate, even if you tried a hundred times, you wouldn’t be able to touch me!”
The future ruthless boss of the ninja world was still just a silly child who only knew how to charge forward; it felt quite strange.
“Hmph, don’t get too cocky, you despicable Uchiha Chenz Yue. Next time, I won’t lose to you again; be prepared.”
Obito completely ignored the gesture, getting up while covering his face, showing no sign of being discouraged by his recent defeat, and defiantly declared his challenge to Chenz Yue.
Seeing this, Chenz Yue shrugged; he was used to it. Over the past month, they had ‘battled’ like this at least eight times.
Each time, Chenz Yue easily defeated him, but Obito never showed any intention of giving up; instead, he became more determined, even though he showed no signs of improvement in strength.
Moreover, what bothered Chenz Yue the most was that, for some reason, Obito always harbored an inexplicable hostility towards him.
Or rather, the hostility might be an exaggeration, but it was clear that Obito disliked him.
Chenz Yue felt that he hadn’t provoked him at all over the past month; even though he strongly disliked some of Obito's future actions, he didn’t target him since he was still just a little kid.
Although he hadn’t made any effort to befriend him, it shouldn’t have led to Obito looking at him with such disdain.
“What a boastful guy; I hate that about him the most. He always talks big, yet he’s just an underdog who doesn’t understand his own strength.”
On the sidelines, hearing Obito’s familiar ‘declaration,’ the short-haired boy who had mocked him initially scoffed.
“Shut up!”
This time, the girl standing next to the short-haired boy spoke up, directly silencing him.
The girl with smooth black hair gazed dreamily at Chenz Yue in the arena. While she didn’t like Obito’s hostility towards Chenz Yue, she felt they were all part of the same clan and shouldn’t go too far.
What she admired about Chenz Yue was that, although he ruthlessly defeated Obito every time, he always comforted him right afterward, even if Obito didn’t appreciate it and continued to harbor resentment.
Strong yet gentle, and coming from a direct lineage, Chenz Yue was truly perfect.
And there were quite a few people in this batch who shared this sentiment.
With his ‘strong’ abilities, and without any of the arrogance or domineering behavior typical of a clan heir, along with his handsome and charming looks, Chenz Yue had already gained the recognition of most of his peers, except for Uchiha Obito.
