Chapter 19
Pre-Training Begins

The next morning, the sky was still faintly bright.

In the Upper District of Konohagakure, deep within the Uchiha clan compound, a small figure was jogging along the training field.

The conversation with his two elders had taken place yesterday.

After explaining the difference between the Konoha Ninja Academy and the clan academy to Uchiha Chin-Yueh, before parting ways, Uchiha Fire Core and Uchiha Jian Tai, the two elders, told him about the training he would be starting the next day.

So, early this morning, as soon as dawn broke, the maidservant, Yuko, woke him up and brought him to the training field.

Although his great-grandfather, who was his teacher, was not yet there, Chin-Yueh dared not dawdle. Who knew if he was hiding somewhere nearby, secretly watching?

Therefore, upon arriving at the training field, he immediately started jogging along the track.

Perhaps because it was located within the clan compound, the training field was not particularly large.

It was roughly five hundred square meters, enclosed by a three-meter high stone wall. In the center was a two hundred meter circular track. Inside the track were several smaller training areas for different functions.

According to the training content provided by Uchiha Fire Core, the first item was a morning run of twenty laps.

A two hundred meter track, twenty laps, that’s four thousand meters. Was it too difficult for a child who had not yet turned four?

Although he knew that children in the ninja world had extraordinary physical abilities, Chin-Yueh was still a little apprehensive before experiencing it firsthand.

However, soon after he started running, he realized that his small body actually contained immense energy.

One lap, two laps, three laps…

It wasn't until the tenth lap that he felt slight fatigue. With this level of energy expenditure, twenty laps, four thousand meters, was not his current physical limit at all.

Twenty laps later, the sky had completely brightened. The rising sun in the east cast large patches of golden sunlight onto the training field.

“You can stop now.!”

As Chin-Yueh completed his twenty laps, Uchiha Fire Core, who had appeared at some point, stood before him and called out to stop him from continuing.

“Great-Grandpa, I can still run!”

Even though his breathing had become a little labored after twenty laps, Chin-Yueh felt like he could run another twenty.

“Twenty laps is enough, child.”

Uchiha Fire Core explained to Chin-Yueh: “Your body is still growing, you can’t focus on training intensity too much. Exploring your physical limits is not something you should consider at this age.”

“Besides, if you exhaust all your energy just from the morning run, how will you handle the rest of the training?”

After speaking, the old man started walking towards the training area located inside the track. At the same time, he called out to the small boy who was still standing there: “What are you standing there for? Come along.”

“Oh, coming!”

Chin-Yueh quickly followed.

The training area inside the track was divided according to its training function. There was a Shuriken Throwing Training Field with targets, a Body Balance Training Field with stepping stones, and the Comprehensive Training Field, currently where Chin-Yueh and Uchiha Fire Core were, which was empty and had nothing in it.

“Watch my movements and do the same!”

After reaching the training field, Uchiha Fire Core didn’t waste any words. He faced Chin-Yueh, spread his legs, squatted down into a horse stance, and gestured for him to do the same.

“Do ninjas also train with horse stances?”

Chin-Yueh wasn’t unfamiliar with this stance, but he was surprised that ninja training involved horse stances.

Chin-Yueh assumed the position, establishing a stable horse stance.

“Straighten your back, relax your shoulders!”

After correcting his stance, the old man continued: “Maintain this position, then listen to me.”

“Child, do you know, for a ninja, setting aside theoretical knowledge, if we were to talk solely about fighting ability, what skills would they need to master?”

“Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, Genjutsu, Chakra Control, hmm, and also proficient use of the Sharingan.”

These were basic knowledge, the three ninja techniques, which his grandmother, Uchiha Aya, had already taught him before he started his ninja training.

As for Chakra Control and Sharingan application, he had combined his current understanding of the knowledge and his own situation, to come up with supplementary answers.

“Hmm.”

The old man acknowledged this, then asked: “So, among these abilities, which one is the most basic, and also the most important, for a ninja?”

“Most basic? Also most important?”

Chin-Yueh fell into deep thought.

In his understanding, the most basic ability of a ninja should be Chakra. After all, only after refining Chakra could one be called a ninja, otherwise what was the difference between them and ordinary warriors?

But the question here was about ninjas.

The precondition was already being a ninja. So, it was not Chakra, but Chakra control?

Furthermore, the most important ability, for ordinary ninjas it was hard to say, but if it was a ninja from the Uchiha clan, then the answer would definitely be the application of the Sharingan!

But most basic? And most important?

This made Chin-Yueh a little puzzled, he could only try to ask back: “Is it Chakra control? Or the application of the Sharingan?”
