Chapter 5
The Tomb Robber's Token

It wasn't that Bai Tian Yu wasn't handsome and charismatic. It was that he was so handsome and charismatic, that women along the way would basically be paralyzed by his presence.

Lao Hu and Wang Pang Zi were filled with jealousy, it was outrageous.

“Don't listen to these two, just call me Tian Yu, that's how these two guys call me.”

Seeing Da Jin Ya's hesitation, Bai Tian Yu continued to explain.

“I'm just two years younger than these two guys, you know?”

Upon hearing Bai Tian Yu's age, Da Jin Ya was shocked. He looked at Bai Tian Yu and then at Lao Hu.

He was completely dumbfounded.

One was in his early twenties, and the other looked almost forty, and they were only a few years apart?

Hormones!

He'd heard that there were hormones abroad that could stimulate growth, but he hadn't heard that they could reverse aging!

Seeing that Lao Hu and Wang Pang Zi didn't say anything, he knew that Bai Tian Yu wasn't lying. Otherwise, Wang Pang Zi would have been yelling and shouting.

“To think that I, Da Jin Ya, would be so fortunate to meet a legend like White Sir, it truly is a blessing from three lifetimes!”

Da Jin Ya said in admiration.

“Come, come, let's get the hotpot going! Everyone eat!”

Seeing that the mutton hotpot was already on the table, Da Jin Ya quickly urged them.

Moments later, when everyone had eaten their fill, Da Jin Ya began to speak.

“Well, I'm a small-time antique shop owner in Panjiayuan.”

“My father was a grave robber. Before he was conscripted, he learned his skills from a master named Cai in Shacheng, he knows a lot about this business of digging up graves.”

“In the past, he relied on the smell of the earth dug out from underground to find graves. Later, after the invention of the Luoyang shovel, he relied on the things he brought up from the ground to determine the location of the tomb.”

“He would judge the age and structure of the tomb based on the pieces of porcelain, wood, and other things he brought up.”

“But this skill was lost in my generation. I have congenital asthma, and I can't go down into the graves at all!”

“I can only rely on this little bit of eye-sight to make a living from antiques.”

Da Jin Ya was truly sincere in wanting to make friends with the three. It wasn't just about the Tomb Raiders as Wang Pang Zi said, but also because of the legend that was Bai Tian Yu.

They couldn't be friends, nor could they be enemies, right?

More friends meant more paths.

“I see that you're doing pretty well in your business, Jin Ye. How else could you be eating out every day?”

For Wang Pang Zi, as long as he could eat out every day, then he was truly rich.

“Heh, what am I compared to you, Hu Ye? You're the real big shot!”

“What I said just now, you should be very familiar with it, right Hu Ye?”

This question was obviously a probe. If Lao Hu couldn't answer, then it meant that Wang Pang Zi was lying.

After this meal, the two sides might just go their separate ways.

If it were true, then there would be no need to say anything more, right?

He would naturally use his smooth tongue to persuade Lao Hu to join the business. If he could get something out of the three of them, it would be a profit for Da Jin Ya.

“Of course, but Jin Ye, you don't know. For real masters, ”

“The Luoyang shovel is something they would disdain. Real masters can basically determine the location of a tomb just by looking at the mountains and rivers, the direction of the river.”

“This is called Feng Shui, and it's the core skill of the Tomb Raiders!”

“My family's secret manual, the sixteen-word Yin-Yang Feng Shui Secret Art, is passed down from the Tomb Raiders.”

“Hu Ye, I'm impressed. I've only heard about this stuff, I didn't expect you to actually know it!”

Da Jin Ya was truly happy when he heard this.

He hadn't been able to find anyone with this expertise in all the years he'd been in the capital. Most of them were just pretenders, with no real skills at all. Otherwise, with his smooth tongue, how could he have ended up like this?

“Did your old man ever dig out any big ‘zongs’? ”

Hearing Lao Hu's words, Da Jin Ya was even more certain that he had met the real deal.

The codeword “zong” was not something that ordinary grave robbers knew. Except for the four major factions of Tomb Raiders, only the old nine factions of Shacheng would use it.

Lao Hu certainly wasn't from the nine factions, Da Jin Ya was very clear on that.

While Lao Hu and Da Jin Ya were talking, Bai Tian Yu and Wang Pang Zi were each on one side, cleaning up all the food on the table.

When they remembered to continue eating, they only saw clean plates and no food left.

Even the soup from the mutton hotpot had been ladled out by Wang Pang Zi, who had drank quite a bit, which made Bai Tian Yu admire him.

He thought he was already a pretty big eater, but this Wang Pang Zi was no slouch either.

He could eat so much because he was a cultivator, he needed more food to practice.

“You two! ”

Lao Hu glanced at Bai Tian Yu and then at Wang Pang Zi, and gave a scolding laugh.

“Since we've finished the food, let's have a toast and then go to my place.”

Seeing this, Da Jin Ya didn't say anything, he raised his wine glass in a gesture.

After finishing their drinks, the three followed Da Jin Ya to his shop.

The shop was small, it couldn't compare to Bai Tian Yu's Baiyun Daoist Temple.

But this was the capital city, and it was Panjiayuan. To have a shop like this, Da Jin Ya wasn't exactly a small-time vendor either.

Inviting them to sit down, Da Jin Ya went into the inner room and searched around, then took out three bags and handed them to the three of them.

Wang Pang Zi curiously opened one and saw something that looked like a wolf's tooth. He curiously asked,

“What is this?”

Lao Hu touched it and said solemnly,

“Tomb Raider Talisman!”

As a descendant of the Tomb Raiders, how could Lao Hu not know about the Tomb Raider Talisman.

But these three Tomb Raider Talismans were all fake, weren't they?

From the records passed down from his grandfather, there were only three Tomb Raider Talismans left.

They were all passed down to Zhang San Lianzi's disciples. If Da Jin Ya had the ability to gather all the Tomb Raider Talismans,

He wouldn't need the three of them. With just these three Tomb Raider Talismans, there would probably be a lot of people willing to go down into the graves for him.

But Lao Hu knew this and didn't say anything. Such things could be discussed privately between their brothers,

He couldn't say it in front of Da Jin Ya. After all, he had given them a gift. To disrespect him like that would be rude.

After all, they had just met for the first time. To be disrespectful like this, wouldn't there be no future interactions?

Lao Hu had already decided to go tomb raiding, so befriending Da Jin Ya was a done deal. There was no need to offend him because of loose lips.
