Chapter 8
The Girl's Nightmare, The Evil Spirit Invisible to Ordinary People!

“No! No!”

In a somewhat secluded villa in Neon, a young girl furrowed her brows, her face drenched in cold sweat. Suddenly, she jolted awake.

Looking around the familiar dim room, she wiped the beads of sweat from her forehead, murmuring:

“Did I have that nightmare again?”

She was just thinking that perhaps she had been too troubled lately, when a strange whisper reached her ears:

“You escaped again. The next time you come, it will be the last time...”

...

“Ding ding ding~ Time to get up! The white horse is nibbling your butt! Get up! The white horse is nibbling your butt!”

In the morning, the alarm clock beside Nakano Yu started ringing loudly.

Nakano Yu, already dressed, reached out to stop the alarm and walked out of the bedroom.

“Get up! Get up!”

Nakano Yu shouted as he walked to the door of the five sisters' bedroom, knocking on each door. After hearing responses from all five, he finally went downstairs to wash up and prepare breakfast.

“Ah~”

Standing in front of the frying pan, Nakano Yu yawned.

“Seriously, why do we have to go to school again? Didn’t we just go yesterday? How ridiculous!”

Grumbling, Nakano Yu flipped over six fried eggs.

Although with his current physique, not sleeping wouldn’t be a problem, he still felt sleepy, especially since there wasn’t much to do all day.

After completing the tasks from the Gō system each day, he would just go home to cook, sleep, watch TV, and play games, but only briefly, as he had met a troublesome character in the game. If he got tangled up with them online, it wouldn’t be good.

While Nakano Yu was lost in thought, Futaba rubbed her eyes and came downstairs. Seeing the boy making breakfast, she approached to offer help.

“Good morning, Futaba.”

Upon seeing Futaba, Nakano Yu greeted her with a smile.

“Morning, Yu.”

Futaba replied, taking out the toast from the toaster and helping to make sandwiches.

“Futaba, you haven’t washed up yet, right? The fried eggs will be ready soon; let me make the sandwiches.”

Glancing at Futaba, Nakano Yu could tell she had just woken up and hadn’t had time to wash up.

Though Futaba had fair skin and was beautiful, there was still a noticeable difference in energy between having washed her face and not, so he gestured for her to go wash up first.

“Okay.”

Upon hearing this, Futaba didn’t argue, as washing her face in the morning was essential for someone who cared about their appearance.

Just as Futaba left, Yotsuba and Miku also came downstairs one after another, greeted Nakano Yu, and went to wash up.

Itsuki, on the other hand, only rushed downstairs after Nakano Yu had finished breakfast and set the plates on the table, hurriedly mumbling:

“Oh no, oh no! I overslept!!”

As she said this, Itsuki dashed to the dining table, about to grab a sandwich to shove into her mouth, only to be met with Nakano Yu’s hand chopping down on her head.

“Go wash up before eating, seriously, it’s the same every day.”

Placing a glass of milk beside Itsuki, Nakano Yu said with annoyance.

Usually, Futaba woke up the earliest, and Yotsuba and Miku didn’t have the bad habit of sleeping in, but as for Ichika and Itsuki, he really didn’t know what to say.

Hmm? Wait, where’s Ichika?!

Suddenly realizing, Nakano Yu remembered that Ichika hadn’t come downstairs yet.

“Remember to wash up; I’ll go check on Ichika.”

After reminding Itsuki, Nakano Yu went upstairs.

Arriving at Ichika’s door, the boy first knocked on the door, but there was no response from inside. Listening closely, he could hear Ichika’s faint snoring.

“As expected...”

Hearing the sound, Nakano Yu wore a knowing expression and didn’t bother being polite with Ichika anymore; he pushed the door open and walked in.

Ichika’s room was dark, with the curtains drawn tightly, blocking out the morning light and making the room seem a bit dim.

“Hey, Ichika, it’s time to get up! If you don’t wake up, the white horse is going to nibble your butt!”

Seeing Ichika lying on the bed, wrapped in a cool blanket and motionless, Nakano Yu rubbed his forehead.

“Yeah, yeah, I’ll get up... in a moment...”

Hearing Nakano Yu’s voice, Ichika lazily raised her white, lotus-like arm and waved her hand in response.

But her voice gradually faded until it disappeared completely.

Seeing this, Nakano Yu scanned the room and noticed the usual mess of clothes scattered everywhere. Not bothering to be polite with Ichika, he grabbed a jacket from the floor, crumpled it into a ball, and tossed it at her.

The jacket lightly hit Ichika’s face, and only then did she reluctantly sit up.

“Seriously, Yu, you’re so rough.”

Sitting on the bed, Ichika rubbed her eyes and complained, yawning sleepily.

The cool blanket that had wrapped around her slipped down a bit due to her movements, revealing a large expanse of her fair skin.

“If Ichika could change her habit of oversleeping, I might consider going over to wake her up.”

Leaning against the doorframe, Nakano Yu crossed his arms and said.

“Huh? Yu is being all serious again, even though he’s already seen everything.”

Hearing this, Ichika pouted, her tone slightly resentful, as if Nakano Yu were a scoundrel who had abandoned her.

“That was ages ago; we were just kids back then. I won’t talk about this with you anymore. Hurry up and get up, or I’ll let Itsuki eat your breakfast.”

After saying this, Nakano Yu turned to leave, not caring about Ichika’s thoughts.

Ichika didn’t say much either, quickly getting up to get dressed, but a slight smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.

“Just now, Yu blushed, didn’t he? He’s still such a kid, heh heh~”

......

After breakfast, Nakano Maruo’s assistant, Mr. Jiang, had already driven downstairs, ready to take the girls to school.

Once in the car, the five sisters busied themselves with their own things. Yotsuba and Itsuki chatted, Ichika leaned against the window catching up on sleep, Futaba was putting on makeup, and Miku wore her iron triangle headphones, listening to music.

As for Nakano Yu, he turned his head to watch the scenery outside the window receding rapidly.

“There really are more and more of those things lately.”

Suddenly, Nakano Yu murmured.

In the boy’s eyes, the world appeared bizarre and distorted. On the streets, apart from students walking in pairs and the flowing vehicles, in the filthy and dirty corners, black shadows were peeking out, searching for their prey.

These shadows were eerie, understood as—spirits!

However, Nakano Yu noticed that these malevolent spirits were different from Shirai; ordinary people couldn’t see them, and these spirits couldn’t harm those who couldn’t see them, as if something was binding them.

That’s fine; if these things could harm people at will, this world would probably be in chaos.

Monsters like Shirai, Nakano Yu felt, were not the same existence as these malevolent spirits, as anyone who had heard their story could see Shirai.

Rather than calling Shirai a malevolent spirit, Nakano Yu preferred to refer to her as an anomaly, a rare existence different from humans, malevolent spirits, and youkai.

“What things are getting more and more?”

Suddenly, a tuft of hair appeared in Nakano Yu’s line of sight, swaying back and forth, so close to his face that if it moved a little more, it would poke him.

“The tuft of hair is going to poke me!”

Seeing this, Nakano Yu quickly brushed down Itsuki’s tuft of hair and said.

“Oh, I didn’t notice, but you’ve been talking to yourself since a while ago. What are you thinking about?”

Itsuki nodded, leaning back in her seat, and asked.

“I was saying that summer is here, and there are more and more high school girls dressed lightly.”

Nakano Yu straightened his posture and replied.

Upon hearing this, Itsuki was taken aback for a moment, but her cheeks quickly flushed, and she reached out to pinch Nakano Yu’s arm, playfully scolding:

“Yu! H!”
