Chapter 25
Revenge of the Soul, Sun Shan Desperate

Sun Shan felt like he'd had a long, agonizing dream.

In the dream, he had a happy family.

Aside from work, he spent his time fishing.

Until one day.

He saw a "raw stone" from a friend.

He saw the friend open the stone, a beautiful piece.

It sold for millions!

It was wealth he couldn't have earned in a lifetime of hard work.

He was sucked in.

He sold his car.

He sold his house.

His wife was furious and divorced him.

The friend took all his possessions and vanished.

To make back his losses.

He borrowed from loan sharks.

He came to the Mo Kuang Mountain.

And then.

He unearthed a stone, full of emerald!

If he took it out, it would sell for millions!

But how could he take it out?

The jade shop owner, grinning cruelly, surrounded him with men.

“Put down my stone!”

“What’s yours? This is mine! I bought it!”

The owner's smile grew more sinister.

“You bought it? Who can testify? You clearly stole it from my shop!”

Sun Shan’s heart turned cold.

“Don’t move! If you move again I’ll smash it!”

In a moment of panic, he jumped on the table, pretending to smash the stone.

10 million!

He couldn’t let anyone take the stone.

He could buy a better house!

He could buy a better car!

He had just called his ex-wife to share the good news.

Why were these Mo Kuang Mountain people so unreasonable?

But more people kept coming.

When he lost his strength, how could he escape?

Wu Hai Shan arrived.

They were both Long Guo people, he would surely help me!

But he was disappointed.

Wu Hai Shan was in cahoots with the shop owner!

Long Guo people were cheating Long Guo people!

Was he even human?

After much deliberation, he could only agree.

Even though the price they offered was less than what he'd spent since arriving.

But that damn broker!

He gave him fake money.

It was like a bolt from the blue.

But what could he do?

This was Mo Kuang Mountain.

Not Long Guo.

The stone was taken.

The money in his bag was stolen.

Then what?

Sun Shan suddenly woke up.

Looking at his ragged clothes.

Why was he here?

What happened to him?

He didn’t have time to think before a handful of pebbles was thrown at him.

They hit him, but he felt no pain.

Sun Shan looked up, glaring in the direction the stones came from.

A group of idle kids, not only didn’t apologize.

They even made faces at him, and even threw bigger stones!

Sun Shan took a deep breath.

He charged towards the kids.

They scattered like birds.

Sun Shan stood on the Mo Kuang Mountain street, confused.

“What should I do?”

Suddenly.

He saw a familiar face.

The one who took his watch.

The one who stole his money.

The one who even gave him counterfeit money.

Jin Gang Ge.

Rage surged through his head.

He followed.

Jin Gang Ge whistled as he walked into the alleyway.

That day, even though he didn’t find the bloodstone on Shen Xing.

His boss was very unhappy.

But later, no one knew where the stone went?

Since everyone didn’t get it, it was as if it never existed.

So Jin Gang Ge resumed his usual bullying and extortion.

He raised his hand and checked the new second-hand Rolex.

“Don’t say it, a brand-name watch keeps accurate time!”

Although there were many things happening in Mo Kuang Mountain lately.

The market was bad.

But that was for the stone dealers to worry about.

He, Jin Gang Ge, was in the protection business.

Dare you not pay?

Of course, he occasionally dabbled in other businesses.

For example, he exchanged counterfeit money for gamblers.

He preyed on the fact that they were unfamiliar with the place.

They couldn’t call for help, no one would hear their cries.

What?

You have a problem?

Most people would withdraw their complaints in the face of a rain of fists.

For the few who didn’t.

Jin Gang Ge would grudgingly help them find a good place to sleep.

There were plenty of places in the wilderness, where would they end up?

Jin Gang Ge admired his new watch.

He thought about which miner’s debt was due.

Recently, because of the ghost stories, many mines had stopped working.

Naturally, the miners couldn’t get paid to repay their debts.

Then, it would be his turn, Jin Gang Ge.

Did they have any daughters?

He’d take them to cover the debt, sell them to Da Qu Lin Ming Ge, to become brides across the border.

It didn’t matter if the daughters were young.

They always had a wife.

“Hee hee hee.”

Imagining himself disciplining the miner’s wife and children in front of him.

Jin Gang Ge couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Don’t blame him for being heartless.

After all, he grew up in this environment.

Primitive, barbaric, brutal, shortsighted.

So what?

Money in hand, that was his real father.

But why was the alley so quiet today?

Where were all the women who usually stood in the alley?

Jin Gang Ge looked up.

The short alley.

Was now pitch black, extending as far as the eye could see.

Jin Gang Ge continued walking.

Suddenly.

Had he passed this dilapidated shack before?

Jin Gang Ge was a little scared.

Mo Kuang Mountain had been haunted lately!

The miners described it vividly.

Cross-eyed, head with a big hole.

Empty eyes, empty mouth, withered like a branch.

Lots of holes on their bodies, constantly crawling with bugs.

In an instant, Jin Gang Ge remembered it.

Suddenly.

A heavy breathing sound came from behind him.

Jin Gang Ge was silent.

Look?

Or not look?

His evil heart took control.

Jin Gang Ge turned his head sharply.

He saw just a homeless man, scantily clad.

“Sun Boss?”

Jin Gang Ge asked uncertainly.

“Aren’t you crazy?”

He pushed Sun Shan.

“You dare scare me?”

If it had been a stranger, Jin Gang Ge would have peed his pants.

But a mere madman.

He had the watch from this guy.

What was there to fear?

“What’s up? Sun Boss, not crazy anymore, huh?”

Jin Gang Ge slapped Sun Shan's face.

“Hey, what’s that in your hand? A stick? Want to beat me with this?”

Jin Gang Ge scoffed.

He raised his fan-like palm and struck the man before him.

But.

Sun Shan was faster.

Sun Shan felt the rage welling up in his chest.

Just like the urge to pick up the stick.

He swung the stick towards Jin Gang Ge's head.

“You!” Jin Gang Ge couldn’t believe the madman would actually attack!

With a bang, the stick smashed into his forehead.

One blow, the sauce shop.

“Don’t!” Jin Gang Ge raised his hand, about to plead.

Too late, Sun Shan swung the stick at his mouth, knocking out his teeth and the rest of his words.

Two blows, the silk shop.

“Ugh~~Ugh~~” Jin Gang Ge couldn’t speak, he covered his mouth and let out a silent moan.

Sun Shan’s face lit up with excitement.

It was a wonderful experience.

The blood, the moans, and the thrill of revenge, it all made him feel intoxicated.

He swung the stick.

Three blows, as if he were opening a water and land temple on Jin Gang Ge's face.

The muscular man had no resistance.

Four blows, five blows, six blows...

With a snap, the stick broke in two.

Sun Shan finally regained his senses.

Looking at the pool of Jin Gang Ge.

He threw down the stick.

“This... did I do this?”

He held his head and squatted on the ground, wailing.

“I killed someone! I killed someone!”

He was drowning in debt.

He was also stained with blood.

Where would he go?

“Slap! Slap! Slap!”

“Wonderful revenge.”

A mocking voice came from all directions.

It entered Sun Shan's ears.

He looked up, dazed.

His eyes widened.

He saw in mid-air.

From head to toe.

A figure was gradually rendered.

Chen Tai came before Sun Shan.

He clapped his hands.

“Satisfying?”

Sun Shan's eyes were filled with doubt.

“You’re the one who tricked me! Are you human or a ghost?”

Chen Tai shrugged, “What do you mean I tricked you? I clearly saved you.”

“Saved me? Made me kill?”

Chen Tai chuckled, “Come on, this isn’t Long Guo.”

Sun Shan's eyes lit up with hope.

“Yeah, as long as no one finds out, I can go back.”

“Hehe, but how are you going to go back?”

Sun Shan's face fell instantly.

Yeah.

He owed a million in loan shark debt.

What would he do when he got back?

His wife, his child.

He had given up so much.

He slumped to the ground, bewildered.

“Yeah, I don’t even have the fare, and I still owe a million to the loan sharks.”

Sun Shan looked up at Chen Tai.

“I don’t care if you’re human or a ghost, just give me a quick death.”

Chen Tai looked at the despairing man.

“Why do you think you can’t repay the money?”

“Hehe,” the man chuckled, a bleak smile. “I’m penniless, I’ve been eating trash for days, and I’m a Long Guo person, in a place like this, hehe.”

“But you were strong when you beat that man.”

Sun Shan suddenly woke up.

He stretched out his arm and clenched his fist.

The skin, which had started to sag with age, instantly tightened, revealing well-defined muscles.

“You... you did this?”

Chen Tai squatted in front of him, making a devilish deal offer.

“I need people to work for me, the pay is good, and you can work out at the same time.”

“Maybe in a year or two, you’ll have enough to pay off your debt.”

“Maybe you’ll even look twenty years younger, maybe then you won’t want your old woman.”

Sun Shan raised his head stiffly.

“What do you want me to do? I’m just an ordinary person, I won’t do anything against my conscience.”

Chen Tai smiled contentedly.

“Kill the flour merchant, get rid of the spinach, and bring justice to the people.”

“Bring justice to the people of San Bian Po.”

“Is that against your conscience?”

Outside the alleyway, a streetlight lit up.

The light happened to shine a halo over Chen Tai’s head.

Chen Tai held out his hands, supporting the dim sky outside the light.

In Sun Shan's eyes.

He looked like a deity who had descended to experience the world.
