Chapter 2
“Is this the place?”
“The spatial anomaly just now, it appeared here, right?”
“Could it be that the seal of the prison barrier has finally loosened?”
Several voices, laced with joy, echoed from the darkness.
Soon after.
From both sides of the prison corridor, more than a dozen figures emerged.
Actually, Bai Ye had initially planned to unleash a blast towards the darkness.
But upon hearing the voices, he suppressed his desire to attack.
After all, being a newcomer, establishing a good relationship with the locals was essential.
After fusing with the Phantom Emperor's power, Bai Ye had gained night vision.
As the figures approached, he quickly discerned their appearances.
However, the figures that met his gaze were dressed entirely different from what he had imagined.
Gentlemen clad in suits and bowler hats.
And ladies adorned in evening gowns, as if attending a high-society banquet.
Warriors in armor, and gaunt elders dressed as ascetics, a young man with a low-waisted jeans, a delinquent air, and a hairstyle resembling Captain Jack Sparrow’s.
Aside from these, there were countless other figures with peculiar attire.
A strange expression crossed Bai Ye’s face.
Was this a cosplay event?
Alright.
He lowered his head and looked at his own flip-flops and loose-fitting shorts.
What was he cosplaying as?
The Devilish Fire Cloud?
These people, with expressions of fervor on their faces, soon gathered around Bai Ye, their eyes darting about.
“The spot where the magical energy surged was nearby, but how did it suddenly disappear?”
“There must be residual traces, hurry and find them!”
“Don’t order me around! Shutra!”
The once silent prison instantly became abuzz with activity.
Their words were filled with jargon that left Bai Ye completely bewildered.
Prison barrier, dream prison, seal.
“Excuse me, I have a question I’d like to ask,”
After all, he was a twenty-first century good citizen who had received a modern education.
Bai Ye politely inquired.
These people might know something.
He needed to understand where he was.
But no one paid him any attention.
“Get lost! Don’t block my path!”
A man with a delicate face shoved Bai Ye aside.
This action immediately caused Bai Ye to swallow the rest of his words.
Alright, you little punk.
You’re refusing to accept my good intentions, are you?
He placed a hand on the shoulder of the man who had shoved him.
“Such poor manners, how did your parents raise you?”
Bai Ye’s expression turned unpleasant.
Other protagonists, upon gaining power, have everyone beneath them.
I’m talking to you politely, and you dare to speak to me like that?
“Go to hell, you bastard.”
The man with a delicate face instantly flew into a rage upon hearing this.
He immediately swung a slap towards Bai Ye.
The speed was incredible, indicating he was a martial artist.
If it were before, Bai Ye would have undoubtedly received a solid slap.
But with the cheat code in his possession, how could he possibly be hit?
Slap!
Bai Ye dodged the slap and, without hesitation, returned a resounding slap of his own.
A crisp sound rang out.
The entire prison fell silent.
The man, clutching his reddened cheek, had a dumbfounded expression.
His already pale, delicate face looked even more melancholic, with a bewildered expression.
But that bewilderment soon turned into resentment and hatred.
He had never been slapped in his life.
Especially not by someone as weak in magical aura as this guy!
“AAAAAH, DIE!!!”
The man launched into a counterattack, his mind filled with the desire to kill Bai Ye.
Bai Ye dodged the arm thrusting towards him.
The wall behind him was punctured with a “puff,” leaving a crater.
If it had hit a person, it would have pierced them straight through!
This wasn’t cosplay? It’s real!
This thought flashed through his mind, and as the man prepared to attack again, the expression on Bai Ye’s face turned dark.
Alright, alright.
Damn it, using lethal weapons, huh?
He initially intended to vent his anger and let it go, but now he was done.
The next instant.
Darkness surged from his palm, a chaotic and immense dark energy coalesced in his hand, and he slapped the man with a resounding smack.
BOOM—!
A deafening explosion echoed.
The man’s body instantly flew sideways, then slammed into the wall with a bang, shattering the several-meter thick concrete wall into pieces.
As the dust settled, the man’s body lay limp on the ground, resembling a rag doll.
His neck was twisted 360 degrees, clearly lifeless.
“This power… it’s not as I expected,”
Bai Ye knew the Phantom Emperor’s power was strong, so he deliberately restrained his output earlier.
But he never anticipated that a single slap would actually kill someone.
Upon realizing that he had taken a life, Bai Ye initially felt a little panic.
After all, he was from the twenty-first century.
He had been taught since childhood that killing was illegal.
But he quickly remembered that he had transmigrated to a different world!
The laws of his past could no longer bind him.
Besides, it was self-defense.
If he hadn’t attacked, would he have been killed?
So, it’s not his fault that the person died, it’s the deceased’s fault!
The once bustling prison became even quieter.
About five seconds of silence passed.
Bai Ye sensed those remaining, their gazes directed at him, filled with fear, surprise, disdain, and displeasure.
At this time.
The gentleman in the bowler hat narrowed his eyes.
He stared at Bai Ye’s face and said, “Who are you? Why have I never seen you in this prison before?”
His eyes were sharp.
After he spoke, several people quietly retreated.
Clearly, they were intimidated by his appearance.
Within a few seconds, the once crowded and narrow corridor was left with only five figures, besides Bai Ye.
All of them stared at Bai Ye with malicious intent.
“Listen up, you little brat, you’re the first to appear here, explain what happened just now, or else…”
Upon finishing his sentence.
The young man named Shutra, with his delinquent appearance, raised his right wrist.
Then, a flash emanated from his right hand.
A whirlwind, powerful enough to shake the ground, pressed down from above.
The other four let out a click of their tongues, each dodging or resisting.
Only Bai Ye was hit by the whirlwind, and the ground beneath his feet cracked.
However, Bai Ye, standing at the center of the storm, remained unscathed.
