Chapter 17
The Jinchūriki, Sato Miwako, Appears

BOOM!!

The Metropolitan Police Department headquarters building was engulfed in flames.

After successfully achieving their objective, the executives of the Black Organization quickly withdrew, leaving behind only a few low-level members to hold the rear.

"You're not getting away!"

During this time, Sato Miwako relentlessly pursued Vermouth, driving at speeds exceeding 120 kilometers per hour.

"This woman is a real nuisance."

Vermouth's murderous intent arose, and she picked up her phone to call Calvados.

"Sharon, are you okay?"

Calvados, right from the start, was a classic simp.

Vermouth frowned slightly at his words and signaled to Calvados to shoot the female police officer chasing her.

"No problem."

Calvados, brimming with confidence, aimed his sniper rifle at Sato Miwako's fuel tank.

BANG!!

Just as he was about to pull the trigger, a playing card pierced his arm.

Having received a divination result from Koizumi Akiko, Kuroba Kaito, who had rushed over, donned his Phantom Thief attire and raised an eyebrow, saying, "It's not gentlemanly to shoot at cute girls, you know."

"Damn it!"

Calvados's face turned grim. He used his uninjured hand to draw his handgun and shoot at Kuroba Kaito.

Bang Bang -

Kuroba Kaito quickly landed, jumping from his glider, using his playing card gun to knock away the opponent's weapon and then shooting his legs.

"Aaah!!"

Calvados, howling in pain, collapsed to his knees, his face contorted with defiance. "You dare challenge the Organization, Kid? You're dead."

"Oh, I don't think so."

Kuroba Kaito shrugged, looking down from above at Vermouth's vehicle.

Hmm, this woman is not getting away.

That mischievous Koizumi Akiko has her sights set on her.

...

A thrilling chase unfolded on the night streets.

Sato Miwako, whose daily hobby was racing, had turned her police car into a race car. The two vehicles, exceeding 120 kilometers per hour, careened through the streets of Tokyo, a high-speed pursuit where neither could shake the other.

"That Calvados fellow is such a useless waste."

Without needing to call, Vermouth knew that Calvados had failed.

She abruptly slammed the steering wheel left, guiding her car toward nearby Mita Park, where she had a safe passage prepared.

"Don't try to escape!!"

Sato Miwako pursued relentlessly. Upon entering the park, she froze.

The place was eerily quiet, filled with trees. She couldn't find Vermouth's trail at all.

"Seems like the valiant police officer is lost. Perhaps you need my help?"

Koizumi Akiko, wearing her witch attire, sat perched on the branch of a large tree, swinging her white legs, her delicate face radiating pride.

"Who are you?!"

Sato Miwako drew her gun.

"I am the noble Witch Akiko, here to assist you."

Koizumi Akiko jumped from the tree, mounted her magic broomstick, and beckoned for Sato Miwako to get on.

"This... can it actually fly?"

Sato Miwako felt dizzy.

The events of these past few days had been utterly bizarre, defying her world view.

"Of course it can fly."

Koizumi Akiko soared through the forest on her broomstick, then urged impatiently, "Are you getting on or not? That woman is about to get away."

"Okay."

Sato Miwako nodded, sat behind Koizumi Akiko, and they both took to the sky.

...

Mita Park, decades ago, used to be a mine, with several underground shafts and a track for transporting ore.

Vermouth, upon discovering this, had turned it into her own safe passage.

It would allow for a swift escape if ever she encountered trouble.

Drip.

In the dark, empty mine tunnel, the water on the walls gathered and fell to the ground, forming a shallow puddle.

Vermouth stood before the puddle, shedding her disguise. She looked at her reflection in the water and furrowed her brow slightly.

She could feel someone still chasing her.

This was Vermouth's sixth sense, always accurate, and it had helped her escape numerous life-threatening situations.

"Since you're so persistent, bury yourselves here then."

Quickly changing into clothes she had prepped beforehand, Vermouth hopped onto the mine cart on the track and pressed the remote control.

Rumble Rumble -

The explosives she had pre-planted detonated with a roar. The fragile space of the underground mine tunnel began to collapse extensively.

"No good."

Koizumi Akiko, riding her magic broomstick, sensed the danger and clutched the magic amulet around her neck, chanting an incantation.

In an instant, a red magical shield formed, protecting them from the falling debris.

However, since the passage was completely blocked, they couldn't continue the pursuit.

"Damn it!"

Sato Miwako dismounted her magic broomstick and punched the wall.

"Don't worry, no one escapes Witch Akiko."

Koizumi Akiko tilted her chin slightly, grinning like a fox. From the spot where Vermouth had changed clothes, she picked up a piece of clothing Vermouth had shed.

"With this, you can't run away."

The girl, brimming with confidence, used the magic scythe she carried to carve a magical formation on the ground.

Moments later, the magic formation emitted a brilliant red glow, and Vermouth, who had already escaped, was summoned back.

"How is this possible?!"

Even Vermouth, at this moment, was stunned. She looked incredulously at Koizumi Akiko, dressed as a witch.

"Gotcha!"

Sato Miwako, now holding her gun aimed at Vermouth, pulled the trigger.

Bang!

Bang!

Two gunshots rang out simultaneously.

Vermouth's shot hit Sato Miwako's shoulder, and Sato Miwako's shot struck the arm Vermouth was holding the suitcase with.

Thud.

The black suitcase fell to the ground and opened, revealing a red gemstone inside.

"Such wicked power."

Koizumi Akiko, with an astonished expression, took a few steps back, feeling her own magical power being affected.

"The Killing Stone!!"

The two women, already engaged in a struggle, subconsciously scrambled for the gemstone on the ground. Ultimately, Vermouth, with a hardened expression, drew a dagger and plunged it into Sato Miwako's abdomen.

"Umph."

Sato Miwako had an opportunity to dodge, but instead, she chose to grab the Killing Stone and kicked Vermouth away.

"Cough, cough..."

Vermouth, with her hair disheveled, rolled to the side. She threw a few smoke bombs, and her figure disappeared into the white mist.

Sato Miwako, kneeling on the ground, coughed up blood. She looked towards Koizumi Akiko, who called herself a witch, and weakly said, "Hey, Miss Witch, can you send this Killing Stone back?"

"Why don't you send it yourself?"

Koizumi Akiko was annoyed. This damned stone was messing with her magic, rendering her useless just now.

It was humiliating.

"I... I might not make it back."

Vermouth's stab had pierced Sato Miwako's lung. She felt her body rapidly losing strength. She gave a bitter smile, holding the Killing Stone and handing it to Koizumi Akiko.

"No, don't let it come near me."

Koizumi Akiko panicked and retreated.

Using the last of her strength, Sato Miwako collapsed to the ground. The Killing Stone in her hand rolled to the side.

Thud, Thud -

The Killing Stone stopped two meters from Koizumi Akiko, emitting a blazing red glow. It transformed into a translucent nine-tailed fox, circled above Koizumi Akiko and Sato Miwako for a while, and finally entered Sato Miwako's body.

...
