Chapter 31
First Encounter with the Train Crew!

“Miss Ji Zi, be careful!”

On a vast expanse of ice plains,

Dan Heng, after pinning down an extraterrestrial ice creature with a single spear,

loudly reminded Ji Zi.

“I'm fine, I can handle it.”

“Monsters, taste this!”

Ji Zi, upon hearing this, quickly dodged and used the monomolecular saw transformed from her briefcase to cut down several Windraisers.

“We accidentally stumbled into the Riftworld army's base.”

“We have to break through!”

Walt, gently waving his staff, used gravity to crush a group of powerful Riftworld creatures before joining Ji Zi and Dan Heng, his voice heavy as he spoke.

“Tsk, to carve a path through tens of thousands of Riftworld creatures, that's no easy feat.”

“Perhaps, it’s time for my orbital cannon to make its appearance?”

Ji Zi raised her eyebrows, finding the situation a bit tricky.

“Hmm...”

“If it really comes down to it, I can go all out!”

Looking at the Riftworld army gradually closing in, Walt pondered for a moment before speaking to Ji Zi.

If he unleashed his full power, it wouldn't be difficult to eliminate all these Riftworld creatures.

But typically, he wouldn't do so unless absolutely necessary.

“.....”

Dan Heng listened to their conversation but remained silent.

Though he had inexplicably unleashed a burst of strength before, repelling a galaxy-devouring Silver River behemoth with a single spear,

the source of that power remained a mystery to him.

He hadn't fully awakened the Dragon Zun power left over from his past life,

making it difficult to handle the current situation.

Therefore, he could only remain silent.

“Forget it, your power, once unleashed, would probably be a bit uncontrollable, right?”

“So, it’s best not to take too many risks.”

“I'll try to see if the orbital cannon can blast a path through.”

“Stay close to me!”

Ji Zi rejected Walt’s offer,

instead contacting the orbital cannon she had placed outside the planet.

BOOM!!!

The orbital cannon received Ji Zi’s command,

starting to bombard the Riftworld army relentlessly!

Immediately, flames erupted and smoke billowed.

The orbital cannon's power was quite formidable,

each blast taking out at least a thousand Riftworld creatures.

Soon, the orbital cannon's energy was temporarily depleted, entering a recharge state.

Meanwhile, a path had been blasted through the Riftworld army!

“Now’s our chance, let's go!”

Ji Zi reminded them,

leading Walt and Dan Heng to break through the gap created by the bombardment.

ROAR!!!

MOO!!!

Unfortunately, the breakthrough wouldn't be so smooth.

As they broke through halfway,

massive figures, accompanied by earth-shattering roars,

intercepted them!

“This is...”

“Local monsters modified by Riftworld energy?”

Looking at the giant figures that suddenly surrounded them, Ji Zi’s pupils constricted, her surprise evident.

“Be careful!”

“These monsters are different from those before!”

“They’re strong!”

Walt stood before Ji Zi, gazing at the distinctly different Riftworld creatures, his expression serious.

With his keen eyes, he could tell at a glance that these Riftworld creatures had undergone a profound transformation from Riftworld energy.

They possessed power far exceeding that of ordinary Riftworld creatures.

“Sigh, I didn't expect this mission to be so difficult.”

“It seems we have to rely on you, Walt.”

Ji Zi sighed in resignation, looking at Walt.

The orbital cannon would need at least another quarter-hour to recharge.

She didn't have any good options right now.

Her only hope was in Walt.

“Don’t worry, leave it to me.”

Walt nodded,

ready to unleash the power within his staff, creating a black hole to devour these Riftworld creatures.

However, just as his staff rose, he lowered it again.

“Hmm?”

“What’s wrong, Walt?”

Ji Zi watched, puzzled.

“A group of people are approaching!”

“Their presence is very strong.”

“And there’s a… luminous quality to them.”

“Perhaps they’re friend, not foe.”

“If they lend us a hand, we should be able to break through.”

Walt looked up at the sky and explained to Ji Zi and Dan Heng.

“Oh?”

“Are there still people who can move freely on this planet?”

Ji Zi, upon hearing this, also hurriedly followed Walt’s gaze towards the sky.

.....

Minutes earlier,

In the sky,

Chu Chen and March 7th, from a distance, saw the vast Riftworld army below.

To err on the side of caution, they stopped and began to observe the Riftworld army from above.

“So many Riftworld creatures!”

“Chu Chen, there must be tens of thousands of them!”

“If we accidentally fall down, we'll be trampled to death!”

March 7th had never seen such a sight. Overwhelmed by the sheer number of Riftworld creatures, she couldn't help but exclaim in alarm.

“Hmm, it seems all the Riftworld legions that emerged from those Riftworld cracks have gathered here.”

“This means that the local civilization of this planet might be not far from them.”

“This is good news for us.”

Chu Chen observed the Riftworld army and shared his analysis.

“Then what are we waiting for, let’s go take a look!”

Hearing that there might be traces of civilization ahead,

March 7th immediately became excited,

shaking Chu Chen’s arm,

wanting Chu Chen to take her to see if they really found a local civilization.

As for why she didn't fly there herself,

it’s because she couldn't fly yet.

Levitation is a magic that only brave mages can learn.

She hasn't met the requirements yet.

Although she knows Wind Magic,

using Wind Magic to fly is simply inefficient.

It’s slow and consumes a lot of energy.

So, along the way, she has been clinging to Chu Chen’s arm, being carried by him.

As for Amy,

she was naturally being carried by Di Mo.

Di Mo had transformed back into his Holy Light Di Mo form,

now twice the size of Amy,

making it effortless for him to carry Amy’s small frame and fly around.

This made him absolutely ecstatic.

After all, this provided opportunities for close contact with the Goddess, how could he not be overjoyed.

“March, don’t be impatient, wait a moment.”

“Let me observe a little longer.”

“I think I saw figures amidst those Riftworld creatures.”

“It seems like someone is fighting those Riftworld creatures?”

“Whose troops are they?”

“They’re so brave!”

“To dare to fight head-on with this Riftworld army?”

“Even we, with tens of thousands of Riftworld creatures, wouldn’t stand a chance.”

Suddenly, Chu Chen noticed three blurry figures amidst the Riftworld creatures, constantly battling those around them.

This made him quite surprised,

wondering where these reckless fools came from.

With his current strength, barely able to match tens of thousands of Riftworld creatures, he wouldn’t dare to challenge these tens of thousands of them directly.

He couldn’t fathom who gave those three people the courage.

To dare to fight them head-on.

It’s absurd!

As Chu Chen muttered in his heart,

a series of booming sounds started echoing throughout the Riftworld army,

making him pause.

“This is??”

“Lasers??”

“Lasers from outside the planet?”

“Could it be... orbital cannons?”

Seeing thick red lasers continuously falling from the sky,

Chu Chen was a little confused.

This scene seemed familiar…

Vaguely, he remembered a red figure sitting with legs crossed, sipping coffee.

“March, let’s get closer and take a look.”

It’s too far away,

we can't see clearly.

So, Chu Chen pulled March 7th and flew a little closer.

“My goodness, it’s really them!”

After flying a bit closer, Chu Chen finally saw the three people’s appearances.

A look of extreme surprise immediately appeared on his face.

Those three familiar figures were none other than the initial lineup of the train crew!

“What’s wrong? Do you know them, Chu Chen?”

March 7th saw Chu Chen’s surprised reaction and couldn't help but ask.

“I wouldn’t say I know them, I’ve only heard of their names.”

“They’re members of the Stargazer Train.”

“Well… Stargazer Train, like us, is a righteous organization dedicated to clearing away the Star Nucleus!”

“I never expected to run into them here.”

Chu Chen briefly explained the Stargazer Train to March 7th to dispel her confusion.

“Ah?”

“Since they’re righteous comrades like us, we can’t let them fall into danger.”

“Chu Chen, let’s go down and help them!”

Upon hearing that they were comrades with the same goals, March 7th immediately urged Chu Chen to go down and help.

“Help?”

“Of course, we have to help!”

“After all, I’m hoping to get on board the train through this opportunity!”

Chu Chen nodded, picked up his newly purchased five-thousand-Lock-drill-forged staff, and led March 7th towards the Riftworld army below.

Seeing this, Di Mo, naturally, carried Amy and followed closely behind.
