Choi Eun Ho caught the impatience and obvious hostility in Han Seong Dong's voice. With a perfectly innocent and confused tone, he asked: “Senior, is there something I’ve done that has displeased Han Minister?”
Kim Yeong Sun let out a soft sigh. He understood that Han Seong Dong’s fear and resentment towards Choi Eun Ho, or rather, Park Jeong Won, were like an unfathomable chasm.
However, he couldn’t say it aloud, fearing that his words would become the spark that ignited a conflict between them.
They walked into the office together. Choi Eun Ho pulled out a search warrant for a case involving the sale of human organs from a stack of documents and handed it to Kim Yeong Sun.
“Senior, the Cheonan Association is a major participant in this case. I’ve already apprehended two of their members and am currently busy interrogating them. You can bring the police to find Chae Jae Jin this afternoon and help me apprehend him!”
Choi Eun Ho stepped back and bowed deeply, saying: “I’ll leave this to you, Senior.”
“Good.”
Kim Yeong Sun's expression was serious. He took the search warrant and nodded in agreement.
Seeing Choi Eun Ho so dedicated to fighting crime and upholding justice, he felt a sense of relief. Even if it meant more work for him, he was willing to do it.
After expressing his gratitude again, Choi Eun Ho returned to his office. After tidying up briefly, he headed towards the interrogation room.
He currently didn’t have enough manpower to apprehend Jang An Tae, and it wasn't convenient for him to go in person. If he could get Jang Tae San to lure Jang An Tae over, it would undoubtedly be the best solution.
………
………
The atmosphere in the interrogation room was tense.
Jang Tae San had just finished his meal, but he couldn't calm down. He paced back and forth in the narrow space, his brow furrowed, his face full of anxiety. When Choi Eun Ho appeared at the door, he immediately went to meet him, his words filled with urgency: "Did they catch that old geezer?"
Choi Eun Ho smiled, speaking in a reassuring tone: “Brother, I’m just as eager as you are to see you regain your freedom. Let’s work together as brothers, there’s nothing we can’t do. Can the Cheonan Association possibly contend with the Prosecutor's Office?"
Choi Eun Ho patted Jang Tae San on the shoulder and continued: “But I’m currently swamped with things. I still need to interrogate Won Sin Yeon.”
A flicker of disappointment crossed Jang Tae San’s eyes, but then they lit up again, as if he had thought of something: “Unless he throws himself into the net!”
Following Choi Eun Ho’s words, he suddenly slapped his thigh and exclaimed excitedly:
"Eun Ho, call him on your phone, I'll talk!"
Choi Eun Ho deliberately showed a hint of hesitation in his eyes and asked cautiously: “You mean, we’re going to lure him into a trap?”
A look of determination flashed in Jang Tae San’s eyes: “That's right! As long as we can catch him, I’ll be free!”
Choi Eun Ho looked at Jang Tae San and nodded slightly: "Alright, Brother, calm down first and get ready. I'll call him now.”
Jang Tae San took a deep breath, looked at Choi Eun Ho and said gratefully: “Yes, I can’t be too excited, I have to act scared.” He took a few deep breaths, trying to calm his emotions.
The phone rang.
“Eun Ho, any new progress?”
Jang An Tae’s voice came through the phone, his anxious mood evident.
“Dad, it’s me, Tae San.” Jang Tae San corrected him on the other end of the phone.
“Tae San, why are you using Eun Ho’s phone to call me? Where is Eun Ho now?” Jang An Tae’s doubts echoed over the phone.
“I couldn’t answer your call. Now, Eun Ho’s Minister has taken me to the Prosecutor’s Office, and Eun Ho just contacted me.”
As he spoke, Jang Tae San looked up at Choi Eun Ho beside him and silently gave him a flattering smile.
“What does he say now?” Jang An Tae asked in a low voice.
“Eun Ho says I’m not involved in anything major, just need...need...”
Jang Tae San was a little confused about the professional legal terms, and his words stalled.
He looked up at Choi Eun Ho anxiously, and Choi Eun Ho had already written down what he needed to say and handed it to him.
“Needs you to come here to testify for me, to take a statement, so we can clear ourselves from this matter!” Jang Tae San said excitedly.
“Tell Eun Ho to wait for me, I’ll be right there.” Jang An Tae responded quickly, then immediately hung up the phone.
Jang Tae San gently put down the phone, his face beaming with a smile that was about to overflow.
He looked at Choi Eun Ho with anticipation, urging: "Eun Ho, that old geezer is coming, you have to let me leave!"
Choi Eun Ho chuckled and put away his phone, saying confidently: "Don’t worry, you’ll be able to leave.”
He paused, then added: “I still need to interrogate Won Sin Yeon, you wait here first.”
Jang Tae San nodded eagerly, his face full of anticipation and anxiety.
Choi Eun Ho turned and left the interrogation room. He went to the observation room and gave instructions to Heo Tae Jun: "When Jang An Tae comes in, take him directly to the interrogation room, then notify me immediately."
“Yes, Prosecutor.”
Heo Tae Jun replied respectfully.
Then, Choi Eun Ho pulled out a recorder from his pocket and handed it to Park Guk Chang, a slight smile playing on his lips: “Go and edit the recording. Four or five sentences will do. You know what to do.”
Park Guk Chang adjusted his glasses, a cold smile spreading across his face: "Don't worry, Prosecutor, I know my way around."
Choi Eun Ho nodded in satisfaction, and hurried to Won Sin Yeon's location with Choi Ho Ran.
After arriving at their destination, he told Choi Ho Ran to stay outside and then pushed the door open and entered the interrogation room alone.
Inside the interrogation room, Won Sin Yeon sat arrogantly in the chair, his challenging gaze fixed on Choi Eun Ho: “Choi, release me! Do you know who my father is?”
Choi Eun Ho kicked the chair nonchalantly, replying casually: "Just a hospital director, right? You don’t think you can eat people, do you?"
He casually ordered: "Sit properly."
Won Sin Yeon lost his balance and almost fell.
After regaining his stability, he was consumed by rage. He was about to unleash a torrent of abuse, but Choi Eun Ho interrupted him first: "Don’t you want to know how the Prosecutor’s Office found out about you?"
Won Sin Yeon’s words got stuck in his throat. He suppressed them, and glared at Choi Eun Ho in confusion: "How did you find out?"
“Chae Jae Jin reported it.”
“What!”
Won Sin Yeon abruptly stood up, his face filled with disbelief:
“Why would he report it? He's involved too!”
Suddenly, he realized something, looked at Choi Eun Ho and asked urgently: "Is Chae Jae Jin under arrest?"
