Zhang An Tai's spirits soared.
Choi Eun Ho chuckled twice, the sound escaping from his throat, before hanging up the phone.
Even a formidable, feared mob boss couldn't escape the truth about being a "daughter slave." He had owed too much love to his precious daughter, and he longed to forge a closer relationship with her.
Simply agreeing to say a few good words, Zhang An Tai was as thrilled as if he'd won the whole world.
And now that Che Jae Jin had reached an agreement with Zhang Tai Shan, he could play the role of a zealous peninsula citizen, dedicating himself to the fight against evil forces. This was the responsibility of every person with a conscience!
Just as he was about to call Park Jeong Won again to report the situation, his phone suddenly rang. It was Park Jeong Won calling.
Choi Eun Ho immediately answered the phone.
"Hello, Eun Ho, any plans for tonight?"
The voice on the other end made Choi Eun Ho's heart tighten, instantly putting him on high alert. He knew the leader's questions often held hidden meanings and needed careful consideration.
"If you have time, come down."
Park Jeong Won continued, "The Deputy Minister wants to take you out to see the world, unwind a bit. You better hurry or don't blame us for leaving without you."
Park Jeong Won's voice was light and cheerful, seemingly in a good mood. "Also, I'll introduce some friends to you. There are many beautiful actresses among them. I believe you'll enjoy that place, hahaha."
Choi Eun Ho immediately replied, "Yes, I'll be right down."
He hung up the phone, quickly put on his dark blue cashmere coat, and strode towards the elevator.
He knew that before resolving the current crisis, he was just a pawn in Park Jeong Won's hands, and he had to follow the rules of the chessboard.
Choi Eun Ho rushed downstairs, his steps flying across the spacious lobby, directly towards the grand entrance of the prosecution office.
His gaze quickly locked onto the open space outside the entrance, where a gleaming BMW was parked quietly, its rear window slightly ajar. Zhang Tae Jun sat calmly on the right side.
And Park Jeong Won stood by the car door, his arm waving, a broad smile on his face, warmly greeting him.
He quickened his pace, almost jogging to the car, bowing deeply with a face full of apology: "I'm so sorry, I kept the Deputy Minister and the Minister waiting for so long."
Park Jeong Won laughed heartily, his laughter like a gentle breeze across the lake, making people feel instantly relaxed:
"Eun Ho, you don't need to be so nervous. The Deputy Minister isn't taking us on a charge, we're just going to meet some people, no big deal."
He gently patted Choi Eun Ho on the shoulder, his eyes and gestures full of encouragement and comfort. "Alright, get in, we should go."
As soon as he finished speaking, he reached into his pocket, took out a pack of cigarettes, and offered Choi Eun Ho one.
Then, he took one for himself and rummaged through his pocket for a lighter.
Choi Eun Ho immediately took the cigarette and reached into his pocket, pulling out his own lighter.
He gently shielded the flame with his left hand, lit the cigarette, and then handed the burning match to Park Jeong Won.
After lighting Park Jeong Won's cigarette, Choi Eun Ho turned towards Zhang Tae Jun, who was sitting in the car, with a hint of question in his eyes.
"I'm getting old, I've quit smoking."
Zhang Tae Jun smiled back, his tone friendly.
"It's good to quit, smoking is too harmful to your body. Sadly, my own willpower isn't strong enough, I always fail to quit. You're so amazing, Deputy Minister."
Choi Eun Ho's voice carried a tinge of regret, before lighting his own cigarette.
"Hahaha, don't say that, get in the car quickly."
Zhang Tae Jun laughed loudly and waved to Choi Eun Ho to get in.
A driver who had been waiting beside Choi Eun Ho gracefully opened the car door for him with a smooth side-bend and bow.
Choi Eun Ho smiled and thanked him, then ducked into the passenger seat.
The car smoothly started, and although the driver looked young, his driving skills were extraordinary, both fast and stable, making Choi Eun Ho want to learn from him.
In the car, the three chatted casually, and Choi Eun Ho, with his silver tongue, made the other two feel incredibly relaxed and happy.
The sedan smoothly drove into the underground parking garage of a famous hotel in the Gangnam district.
Choi Eun Ho, without waiting for the driver, quickly got out of the car, taking the lead in opening the door for Zhang Tae Jun and Park Jeong Won. This gesture clearly disregarded the driver's resentful gaze.
"Let's go."
As soon as Zhang Tae Jun got out of the car, he quickly adjusted his tie, then led Choi Eun Ho and Park Jeong Won towards the elevator. He gently pressed the button for the ninth floor.
When they reached the ninth floor, they turned a few corners and entered a different elevator.
In this elevator, Zhang Tae Jun took a card out of his pocket, swiped it lightly, and then pressed the button for the 32D floor. This floor was invisible in the previous elevator, as if hiding a secret.
As the elevator slowly ascended, Zhang Tae Jun turned to Choi Eun Ho, a hint of contemplation in his eyes:
"To outsiders, we prosecutors seem to be high-ranking and powerful, enjoying a life of glory. However, how can they understand the pressure we bear?
Only by effectively releasing stress can we wholeheartedly serve the people."
He paused for a moment and continued, "But some troublesome citizens don't understand us. Every time we enjoy ourselves a little in public, they protest. As a result, we even have to relax in secret. This place is very discreet, our exclusive playground."
Zhang Tae Jun's voice carried a hint of grievance.
Park Jeong Won and Choi Eun Ho immediately expressed agreement:
"Yes, those troublesome citizens are simply hateful. We've investigated cases for a lifetime, can't we even relax a little?"
Choi Eun Ho's words were filled with support for Zhang Tae Jun.
His thoughts were focused on making those troublesome citizens serve him. "That's right."
Zhang Tae Jun laughed at this, just as the elevator arrived.
As the elevator door opened, two rows of women dressed in rather revealing attire stood outside, smiling and bowing in unison: "Welcome, you've worked hard, please come in."
Choi Eun Ho couldn't help but gasp in surprise.
He thought to himself, "Can any official withstand such a test?"
