Chapter 20
Bad Mouth? Cut Your Internet Cable

The Doctor brought Eixuan to his secret research base.

Don't doubt it, it's where they grind for weekly bosses.

Except for the imprisoned Sage, the other Sages were present.

After all, it was the most groundbreaking research in the history of the Akademiya.

All of them had to be here to witness it.

Hearing footsteps, Azhar turned to speak, but saw Eixuan beside the Doctor.

His smiling face immediately turned sour.

“Dottore, why did you bring Mr. Eixuan here?”

Though Eixuan had thoroughly humiliated him in the office, Azhar dared not be too aggressive with words in front of this diplomat.

“Of course, we need a witness at this time. As a legendary diplomat, you naturally have to witness history.”

While Azhar's face remained unpleased, he didn't say anything more.

He even felt a glimmer of pride in his heart.

When Dottore first proposed the plan, Azhar's initial thought was to get Eixuan's support.

Fontaine had provided generous aid over the years, so much so that it had become a habit for Azhar.

Therefore, when faced with such a situation, Eixuan was the first person who came to mind.

Unfortunately, Eixuan not only didn't provide resources, he even berated Azhar's envoy.

This only fueled the fire in Azhar's heart.

Now, their groundbreaking research was complete.

Azhar naturally wanted Eixuan to see for himself how great their achievement was.

Thinking about this, Azhar immediately put on a different face.

“I see, you've thought things through. Mr. Eixuan, our grand experiment is about to conclude. I hope you will witness the coming miracle.”

Azhar spoke with passion and vigor, but Eixuan didn't even bother to lift his eyelids.

Both Eixuan and Dottore knew that this experiment was doomed to fail.

Without the authority of the Electro Archon within the God’s Heart, Scaramouche would only be a God-like being with power and partial knowledge of the gods.

However, Azhar, being a mere mortal, was obviously oblivious to this fact.

He still believed he could create a god.

Eixuan wondered if he should prepare a jester mask for Azhar to wear after his failure.

“Alright, the experiment is almost complete. Our top priority now is to carefully double-check the data and ensure zero error.”

Azhar clearly didn't have the same patience with Dottore as he did with Eixuan.

He snorted at Dottore.

“Hmph, with the help of the Abyss, all data has been verified. What are you worried about?”

His reliance on the Abyss had reached an unprecedented level.

Dottore shook his head and headed towards the deeper parts of the facility, Eixuan following behind.

Eixuan cast a glance at the towering Machine God.

From a distance, it stood at least dozens of meters tall, only slightly shorter than the One-Eyed Little Treasure.

“So, you have to build such a massive body for the energy in the God’s Heart to function properly?”

“Almost. This size allows the energy from the God’s Heart to be maximized. This is only because Scaramouche had a God-made body. If it was a puppet made from a doll, the Machine God would need to be twice the size.”

The conversation between Eixuan and Dottore caught the attention of Scaramouche, who had entered the God’s Heart.

The massive mechanical head turned towards them.

Scaramouche’s arrogant voice echoed from the giant skull.

“Oh my, who is this? Dottore, I didn't expect you to invite this sweet-talking, venomous snake. Are you going to have him witness my ascension to godhood?”

This guy had been a mouthy jerk for years.

Every time Eixuan met him in these 500 years, they would have a verbal brawl.

But this might be their last time.

“I'm just here to record the smug face of a certain someone, so I can throw these records in his face when he fails.”

“Bang!” A massive claw slammed against the platform, kicking up a cloud of dust.

“Hmph, you still can't look directly at my greatness? You wouldn't be thinking that the Traveler could defeat me, would you, you sneaky, deceitful little person? I will show you with my own eyes how they will fail.”

“You're amazing! You're bullying a child who was locked up for 500 years, and you think you're something special.”

Eixuan replied nonchalantly, further aggravating Scaramouche.

“This is just the first step. Stubborn fool, I will recreate a glimpse of the God of God’s War, so you can see the greatness of a god.”

In just a few sentences, the way he addressed Eixuan had changed three times. The King of the Mouthy in Teyvat, truly living up to his reputation.

Eixuan sneered.

“It’s only because the people of Sumeru are stupid. If you were doing this in Fontaine, I’d send a letter to Inazuma and have your mother come beat you up.”

Things had progressed to this point.

It was originally a mess created by the Shadow, but now it’s the people of Sumeru who have to solve it.

If she had directly destroyed Scaramouche back then, or kept him in Inazuma, there wouldn't have been so many problems.

The word “mother” seemed to touch a nerve with Scaramouche.

The elemental energy surrounding the Machine God suddenly intensified.

Cold wind, flames, and lightning appeared simultaneously, startling the nearby researchers.

“I will surpass Baelzebul. You, the sewer rat, if you mention that name again in front of me, the tale of the legendary diplomat will end here!”

Eixuan sighed and snapped his fingers lightly.

The gathered elemental energy suddenly calmed down.

The Machine God seemed to lose power as well, stopping in its tracks.

Its arms fell heavily onto the platform, and its legs seemed to lose their support and begin to collapse.

At this moment, Scaramouche had no time to be mouthy.

He realized that while his energy supply wasn’t cut off, the Machine God couldn’t function.

The energy seemed to be stuck in their respective areas and couldn’t flow.

“What did you do, you little bastard?”

Scaramouche was genuinely panicking now.

The Machine God was his obsession. If it were to be destroyed now, all his persistence and suffering for 500 years would have been in vain.

“Snap!” Another snap of his fingers, and the Machine God, which was on the verge of disassembling, instantly recovered.

The Machine God, at this point, still relied on the Abyss for assistance.

Its internal energy flow required calculations from the Abyss.

Eixuan simply severed the Abyss’s calculations.

Without computational assistance, the Machine God naturally risked falling apart.

To put it simply, the Machine God had its internet connection cut.

“It’s just to let this little kid know that there’s always someone bigger and better out there. You’re just a pseudo-god reliant on the power of the God’s Heart. Which of the true Seven Gods relies on that thing? Well, purpose achieved, I’m off.”

Waving casually, Eixuan left the God-Making Factory.

He only came here to see what this Machine God was all about.

After all, the game version was bound to be different from the real thing.

It seemed the power was indeed formidable. It hadn't been used in 500 years, but Electro Archon had ruled Inazuma for 2000 years, accumulating a terrifying amount of faith power.

As he left the factory, the communicator in Eixuan’s pocket vibrated.

Eixuan took out the communicator and saw it was a call from Navillet.

“Hello, what’s up?”

Navillet’s voice came through the other end.

“The research is finished, I’ve sent it over with Clorinde. According to the schedule, they should arrive tomorrow.”

Hearing Navillet’s words, Eixuan’s spirits soared, a glimmer of excitement shining in his eyes.

The research that had taken 200 years finally had a finished product.

Now, he could finally officially join the fray.

“Got it. But why send Clorinde instead of my dear subordinate, Chavorlet? Is the security at the Fningna side alright?”
