Jiang Chen and Guo Fu strolled back to the City Lord’s Mansion. Along the way, Guo Fu’s pretty face remained flushed red, making her look incredibly beautiful.
As they reached the entrance of the City Lord’s Mansion, they found Guo Jing in conversation with a clean-cut middle-aged Daoist.
“Fu’er, who is this Daoist? To have your father personally greet him at the entrance!” Jiang Chen remarked.
“This is Daoist Yin Zhi Ping from the Quanzhen Sect. My father has a deep connection with the Quanzhen Sect, and he has a good relationship with this Daoist Yin,” Guo Fu explained.
“Yin Zhi Ping?”
Jiang Chen was taken aback upon hearing Guo Fu’s words.
He couldn’t believe that the clean-cut middle-aged Daoist before him was actually the Dragon Rider Yin Zhi Ping?
“Brother Jiang Chen, have you heard of Daoist Yin?”
Seeing Jiang Chen’s reaction, Guo Fu was somewhat puzzled.
“Of course, I’ve heard of him. He is the most outstanding disciple of the third generation of the Quanzhen Sect and the future leader of the Quanzhen Sect!” Jiang Chen quickly replied, realizing his lapse in composure.
Jiang Chen believed that in his previous life, Yin Zhi Ping was undoubtedly a thorn in the side of many!
Everyone hated the Dragon Rider, yet everyone desired to become one!
“Fu’er, Jiang Chen, come over here and meet Daoist Yin!”
Guo Jing also saw Guo Fu and Jiang Chen and beckoned them over.
“Fu’er greets Daoist Yin!” Guo Fu clasped her fists in a salute to Yin Zhi Ping.
Jiang Chen similarly clasped his fists but remained silent.
Yin Zhi Ping looked at Jiang Chen with a questioning gaze. He could sense an inexplicable hostility emanating from the young man in white.
Yet, he clearly didn’t recognize the other party?
Could he be mistaken?
“Daoist Yin, it’s not safe on the road. Why don’t you stay at the City Lord’s Mansion for a night before leaving?” Guo Jing suggested.
“Brother Guo, I have urgent matters to attend to and need to return to Mount Zhongnan as soon as possible. I won’t trouble you,” Yin Zhi Ping shook his head and replied.
Yin Zhi Ping didn’t take Guo Jing’s words to heart.
Although the world was not peaceful and bandits and thieves abounded on the road, the name of the Quanzhen Sect was renowned throughout the martial arts world.
Wearing the robes of the Quanzhen Sect, coupled with his early-stage Grandmaster Realm cultivation, Yin Zhi Ping believed that no one would dare to provoke him.
Seeing Yin Zhi Ping still insisting on leaving, Guo Jing nodded and said, “Then Daoist Yin, be careful on the road!”
“Alright! Then I shall take my leave!”
Yin Zhi Ping clasped his fists in salute to Guo Jing. Before departing, he cast another glance at Jiang Chen.
As they watched Yin Zhi Ping leave, a cold murderous intent flashed in the depths of Jiang Chen’s eyes!
Yin Zhi Ping, he must kill him!
For no other reason than a knot from his previous life!
You’re out of luck for encountering me!
…
Yin Zhi Ping left Xiangyang City and headed towards Mount Zhongnan.
The sky was gradually darkening!
As he passed through a stretch of forest, Yin Zhi Ping stopped.
“Who’s there? Come out!” Yin Zhi Ping demanded.
A band of bandits emerged from the woods, surrounding Yin Zhi Ping.
“This mountain is mine, these trees are mine, if you wish to pass, leave your toll!” The bandit leader roared.
“Gentlemen, I am Yin Zhi Ping of the Quanzhen Sect. I have no wealth on me. This silver, please accept it for drinks!”
Yin Zhi Ping pulled out a silver ingot from his bosom and tossed it to the bandit leader, speaking in a clear voice, “May I pass now?”
“Of course… not!”
The bandit leader hefted the silver in his hand and said, “This silver is enough to buy off a beggar?”
Hearing the bandit leader’s words, Yin Zhi Ping’s face turned grim, “One should always leave a way out for others, so there’s a chance to meet again in the future. Are you forcing me to take action?”
Yin Zhi Ping had originally thought he would be able to pass through smoothly. He didn’t expect the bandit leader to reject him outright!
“Want to pass? It’s easy. Leave behind all your money and possessions!” the bandit leader said.
Yin Zhi Ping was completely enraged by the bandit leader’s words. Drawing his long sword, he said, “I intended to let you live, but you insist on seeking your own demise. Today, I will let you witness the Quanzhen Sword Art!”
“Attack!”
With a wave of the bandit leader’s hand, the bandits behind him swarmed forward, wielding their weapons and attacking Yin Zhi Ping!
Seeing this, Yin Zhi Ping also held nothing back. He unleashed the Quanzhen Sword Art and engaged in a fierce battle with the bandits.
Yin Zhi Ping was at the early-stage Grandmaster Realm, while these bandits hadn’t even reached the Innate Realm. Naturally, they were no match for Yin Zhi Ping!
“Clang, clang, clang!”
With a series of crisp sounds of metal clashing, Yin Zhi Ping struck down all these bandits!
“Your turn!”
After taking care of the bandits, Yin Zhi Ping’s gaze fell upon the bandit leader.
The bandit leader’s face was ashen. He hadn’t imagined that Yin Zhi Ping’s skill would be so high?
“Daoist, spare me, Daoist, spare me!” the bandit leader pleaded.
“I intended to let you live earlier. Now you beg for mercy, but it’s too late!” Yin Zhi Ping said.
“You… you can’t kill me!” the bandit leader stammered.
“Why can’t I kill you?” Yin Zhi Ping asked.
“Because… because…”
The bandit leader suddenly yelled, “Daoist Zhao, why haven’t you revealed yourself yet?”
Before the bandit leader’s words had even died down, a middle-aged Daoist, wearing a Quanzhen Sect robe and sporting a goatee, stepped out of the shadows of the woods.
“Zhao Zhi Jing?”
Upon seeing the newcomer, Yin Zhi Ping’s face changed slightly.
Because he recognized that this middle-aged Daoist was none other than his arch-nemesis, Zhao Zhi Jing!
