Chapter 48
Two Mere Starships

Qing Yuan Battleship Bridge

Sun He sat with his legs crossed, looking at the images on the screens in front of him with a relaxed and carefree expression. These were images captured by the unmanned reconnaissance drones that had been sent out.

One of them showed the scene of the Storm-class interstellar battlecruiser's first shot destroying an Ishkur-class interstellar frigate.

"The enemy fleet has begun to assemble completely," said Secretary Officer Qiao Rongrong at his side.

Sun He asked, "Haven't they sent a rescue signal to the other two fleets?"

"Not yet."

Sun He snorted with disdain, "They really don't take us seriously. When we attacked them before, it took them five whole days to give up searching for us and form a defensive group."

"I thought we'd only be able to hunt for two or three days and ambush ten starships at most."

Deputy Captain Tang Yuan, standing nearby, said, "The enemy underestimates us. They think we're just a small group of Golden Leopard Fleet out to raid them."

"We are indeed a small fleet, but that doesn't mean our bite isn't painful," Sun He smiled, his hands clasped in front of his chest. "Report on the number of starships in the enemy fleet."

Secretary Officer Qiao Rongrong immediately displayed dozens of photos on the screen.

"There are sixteen starships in total. The flagship is a T2 Sastor-class medium carrier starship, and there are two more T2 Enyu-class interstellar light cruisers.

The rest are T1s: eight Ishkur-class interstellar medium frigates and five Ishtar-class interstellar heavy destroyers."

Looking at these photos, listening to these somewhat awkward names,

Sun He muttered, "This should be the second series of starships we've encountered."

As a graduate, Sun He had a good understanding of starship knowledge.

In the universe, starship construction is currently divided into three main categories, with different characteristics, but there's a way to easily distinguish them.

It's through their names.

One type, like those Sun He had encountered before, has animal-based names, such as Seashell-class, Tiger Rabbit-class, Black Raven-class, and One-Eyed Wolf-class.

Another type, like the ones in front of him, has awkward names.

The third type uses nouns, generally chosen to sound cool or powerful.

Take the Pilgrim-class light interstellar battlecruiser, a famous T3-class starship of the Galactic Alliance, as an example.

Generally, a civilization focuses on one of these three types for its primary development path. Most civilizations choose one of these three.

However, the Galactic Alliance is different. They want everything. They buy all the starships they can get their hands on and then study them and try to manufacture their own.

Therefore, there are all kinds of starships in the Galactic Alliance.

However, in addition to these three main categories, there are some individual sub-categories, but due to their special nature, other civilizations cannot replicate them.

Returning to the main point, Sun He glanced at the enemy fleet on the star chart.

"They haven't sent a distress signal yet. Based on the location of the other two fleets, it will take at least thirty minutes for them to arrive."

Sun He said in a deep voice, "Tang Yuan, Luo Na, you two will take charge of the battle. We must finish it within thirty minutes. The faster the better, it will give us some time to rest."

"No problem, the Storm-class One won't let the Captain down!" Luo Na stood up straight on the video screen, then started issuing a series of commands.

"Storm-class One, full speed ahead. Main cannons charging, lock on enemy ships; release all drone squadrons, launch ten units of Storm missiles!"

The Storm-class interstellar battlecruiser charged straight ahead, directly towards the enemy fleet of more than ten starships.

"Captain..." Tang Yuan looked at Sun He with some surprise, not expecting him to hand over command to her.

"You have more experience in commanding battles than I do. I trust you with it," Sun He said with a smile.

In terms of command, Sun He was an amateur.

So it was better to let Tang Yuan, the professional, handle it.

"Yes!" Tang Yuan stood up straight and saluted Sun He. At that moment, her eyes radiated a different kind of light.

"I'm taking command of the Qing Yuan now. All thirty Fierce Dragon-class fighters, deploy; the remaining Hummingbird-class and Grey Wolf-class fighters will form a protective formation around the Qing Yuan, ready for further orders!"

Due to the strong performance of the Fierce Dragon-class fighters, the original main fighters, the Hummingbird-class and Grey Wolf-class, had become guardians of the home.

Sun He sat in the captain's chair and looked at the dim planet behind the Malsas fleet.

This was Sun He's target this time.

A resource planet!

...

The Malsas fleet commander,

seeing on the screen that the enemy starship, an interstellar battlecruiser, was actually charging towards his formation, and seeing the carrier starship hiding far behind, out of range of his starships.

"Only two starships?" The Malsas commander frowned. He still couldn't believe that these five days of mischief were caused by just two starships?

He suspected that there might be other starships behind them, or perhaps this attack was just a lure, with another target in mind.

That was why he hadn't sent a rescue signal to the other two fleets.

"They send just two starships to attack us. That's simply overestimating themselves." The Malsas commander sneered.

He looked at the battlefield on the screen, as if he could already see the enemy being destroyed by his own starships.

His fleet's drones and interstellar fighters were all in the air, ten times the number of the enemy's.

Just then, the enemy's interstellar battlecruiser, which was leading the charge, fired its main cannon, and a blue beam shot out, accompanied by ten missiles that also flew towards their targets.

Meanwhile, all of the starships in the Malsas fleet locked their fire on the interstellar battlecruiser.

Main cannons, missiles, drones, interstellar fighters, all their available weapons, were fired towards the interstellar battlecruiser.

Boom!

The first to go down was the Malsas fleet's lead Ishtar-class interstellar heavy destroyer.

"A T2 interstellar battlecruiser?" The Malsas commander frowned slightly.

A single main cannon blast destroyed a T1 starship, its power was quite good even among T2s.

And the ten missiles hit their targets, all of them suffering varying degrees of damage, and one even had its engine damaged.

"But it's just one, what a foolish suicide mission. Haha." The Malsas commander shook his head disdainfully.

Boom, boom, boom.

The sound of explosions that came at that moment was the sound of the Malsas fleet's firepower hitting the interstellar battlecruiser.

A large expanse of fire engulfed the interstellar battlecruiser.

"Next, there's only one carrier starship left, just one T1 light carrier starship, overestimating themselves." The Malsas commander seemed to have already seen the outcome of the battle.

They had data on the carrier starship lurking behind.

It was just a T1 light carrier starship.

The Malsas commander's flagship was a T2 medium carrier starship.

But an unexpected sight appeared.

A black shadow emerged from the smoke, the previous attacks had only left some marks on its hull.

It was the interstellar battlecruiser!

"This is impossible!" The Malsas commander jumped out of his chair and stared in disbelief.
