Chapter 42
The Battle Against Old Master Ren

“You’re wasting your breath with him!” Hu Yi Fei held Xue Ying, ready to charge at any moment.

“Mei Jia, Wan Yu, find a way to control him, Zi Qiao, go to the back and restrict his movement, don't let him run. Yi Fei, let’s go.” Xue Mo Yin also took out his peach wood sword, gave instructions to everyone else, and rushed towards Old Master Ren.

“Understood!”

Old Master Ren just jumped into the air when Wan Yu’s whip shot out, directly wrapping his feet together, and pulled hard. Pulled back like this, Old Master Ren landed flat on the ground. As he tried to get up, he seemed to be controlled by something and kept struggling on the ground.

“Mo Yin, hurry up! It's too strong, I can't hold it for long.” Mei Jia's expression was strained. This guy was too strong, it wouldn't be long before he broke free from her telekinetic restraint.

Xue Mo Yin and Hu Yi Fei exchanged a look, their weapons aimed at his face.

Unexpectedly, the zombie tilted his head and dodged their attacks. Mei Jia’s telekinesis also couldn’t hold up, and Old Master Ren completely regained his mobility.

But as soon as he stood up, Zi Qiao behind him swung his halberd and hit him solidly on the back of his head. Although it didn't cause any damage, the immense force still made him stumble forward.

Hu Yi Fei and Xue Mo Yin also joined the fight, the peach wood sword and Xue Ying sparked against his body. Although the zombie was strong and fast, it had no techniques, and with Zi Qiao and the others constantly interfering, the two of them temporarily had the upper hand.

However, the zombie seemed to have developed some consciousness, he kept his vital points well protected. And during the fight, he tried to avoid the peach wood sword and Xue Ying as much as possible, finding the halberd that posed no great threat to him and using it to fight back.

With this, Zi Qiao quickly became strained, and was caught off guard by Old Master Ren. He grabbed the halberd with both hands and flung it violently, sending Zi Qiao flying out, directly towards Xue Mo Yin and the others.

Xue Mo Yin and the others had no choice but to withdraw their weapons and dodge. Zi Qiao crashed heavily to the ground.

“Damn! I’m going to die from the pain!” Zi Qiao rubbed his waist, complaining.

“Are you okay?”

“I’m fine, just a bit sore.”

Wan Yu, seeing an opportunity, took a large bag of white stuff out of her space backpack and threw it at Old Master Ren, “Mei Jia!”

Seeing this, Mei Jia seemed to remember what it was and used her telekinesis to control it, making it land precisely on Old Master Ren.

Immediately, sparks flew from his body, crackling noises echoed, and the zombie let out a series of low, guttural roars, sounding extremely painful.

“Glutinous rice? Nice work, Wan Yu.” Xue Mo Yin finally recognized what she had thrown, he really hadn’t thought of this.

“Of course, you think I was out for nothing these past two days?”

“Yi Fei, now!”

Xue Mo Yin wouldn’t miss this chance to beat a wounded opponent, zombies are afraid of glutinous rice, but they aren’t.

Their weapons directly pierced Old Master Ren’s abdomen, but Xue Mo Yin’s peach wood sword only went in a sword-tip’s length, while Hu Yi Fei’s Xue Ying pierced straight through his body.

This was the most damage they had inflicted so far, the zombie’s roar became even more violent, like it was going crazy, its two arms flailing in front of him.

Xue Mo Yin and Hu Yi Fei also quickly withdrew their weapons and dodged back. At this rate, it wouldn’t be long before they could finish off Old Master Ren.

However, at this moment, the zombie spun around and jumped towards the door.

“You think you can run? Come back here!” Zi Qiao hadn't forgotten his task, after taking a brief breath, he circled back behind Old Master Ren.

He held the halberd horizontally in front of his chest, pushing forward with all his might.

“Nice! Prepare for a one-hit kill.”

Wan Yu’s whip directly wrapped around the zombie’s neck, and before he could regain his footing, she pulled him back a few meters.

Xue Mo Yin suddenly thought of something and quickly shouted to Mei Jia, “Mei Jia! Hit his eyes.”

Hearing Mo Yin's words, Mei Jia quickly changed targets, concentrating her telekinesis in one place, “Go!”

“Roar!” The zombie’s left eye was instantly destroyed, even though he was consciously protecting his vital points, Mei Jia’s attack was invisible.

Hu Yi Fei’s blade sliced down towards his head, Xue Mo Yin’s peach wood sword also aimed for his other eye.

However, the zombie’s vitality was truly tenacious. Even though he was badly injured, he still managed to react at this critical moment.

At the last second, he tilted his head, and Xue Mo Yin’s peach wood sword stabbed into the already-destroyed eye. This time, it went in quite a bit, but still not enough to be fatal.

Yi Fei’s blade didn’t strike his head either, but with a flash of cold light, his left arm was severed.

Perhaps truly sensing death, the zombie erupted with a powerful will to survive, his remaining right arm forced back Xue Mo Yin and Hu Yi Fei. He broke free from Wan Yu’s whip, and with a powerful kick, jumped directly to a spot near the door.

But he was now at the end of his rope. The group was about to rush forward and finish him off.

But then, a sudden change occurred, dense gunfire rang out from outside the door, the group had no choice but to dodge. Although they wore inner armor, they couldn’t withstand such close-range, dense gunfire, even they didn’t dare to take it head-on.

Fortunately, the bullets were clearly aimed at the zombie, but what use were guns against a zombie? If they could kill Old Master Ren with guns, they would have already taken him down, why go through so much trouble.

As expected, much ado about nothing. It seemed like they were doing a good job, but the zombie still jumped out step by step and disappeared into the night.

It was obviously that fool Ah Wei again. The group inside was so angry! The mission was almost complete, and then this bastard came along and messed things up. Now, they had no idea where to find him.

Ji Shu outside the door was also speechless. Before he could even speak, the guy next to him ordered to fire.

Old Master Ren’s state clearly indicated that he was on his last legs. Did he really need to go through all that? But it was too late now, even if they killed Ah Wei now, Old Master Ren probably wouldn’t show up again.

“Wan Yu, go check on Zi Qiao?” After all, that blow wasn't light, it was better to check.

However, seeing the smile on Wan Yu's face, Zi Qiao felt a sense of dread. He suddenly remembered that Wan Yu’s medical skills had never been put into practice, so wouldn’t he become a guinea pig? He was doomed!

Xue Mo Yin ignored this goofball, “Ji Shu, how are things on your end?”

“Nothing much on my end, Ren Lao Ye has been taken care of, and you guys did a good job. Old Master Ren is now on his last breath.” Ji Shu was truly impressed by their fighting strength.

Hu Yi Fei was still angry and looked at Ah Wei, “Yeah! If that idiot hadn't come over and started shooting randomly, we would have finished him off.”

Ah Wei awkwardly scratched his head. He now truly knew how terrifying zombies were, and realized that he had probably messed things up. He quickly tried to make amends, “Well, you noble adults are magnanimous. I didn't mean to mess things up, I was just trying to be helpful. So, how about this, I’ll bring people up the mountain tomorrow, we’ll dig up the ground three feet deep to find him.”

Hu Yi Fei looked at Xue Mo Yin. Xue Mo Yin had to make the decision on this matter. “Alright then, we’ll go up the mountain with you tomorrow.”

Xue Mo Yin had no other choice. After this fight, he couldn’t be sure if Old Master Ren would return. Although in the movie, the zombie immediately ran back after recovering, this time he was more severely injured, and Xue Mo Yin didn’t know if it would have any impact.

Moreover, it was clear tonight that the zombie had developed intelligence and some thinking ability. If he hid for a year or two, Xue Mo Yin and the others would be truly lost.

With no other choice, Xue Mo Yin could only agree to go up the mountain and search, hoping for a miracle. It was better than doing nothing.

“Green Corpse!”
