In the desert, two off-road vehicles sped across the yellow sand.
Soon, Jack and his team arrived at the abandoned town where the indigenous tribe resided, guided by Lu Hao.
“This is it!!”
Ilsa took out a photo and compared it to the statue inside the gate and the condition of the other buildings. It was exactly the same as the background in the photo.
Jack and Ada looked at each other, their faces full of joy.
After a long and arduous search, they had finally found it.
“Lu Hao, I knew you had a lead on the location of Bukilao Qi’s base. You deliberately went deep into the desert to confirm its authenticity.”
Jack finally understood Lu Hao’s purpose for setting up an advance team.
This guy was really hiding something.
“Well, you wouldn’t take me along before, so I won’t share my intelligence with you.”
Lu Hao chuckled.
Jack’s face turned red, and he said sheepishly, “You still remember that!”
Thankfully, they had taken Lu Hao with them. Otherwise, they would never have found Bukilao Qi’s base, and their two tons of gold would likely have remained undiscovered.
“Hide the vehicles, let the four guides guard them, we’ll go in directly!!”
Lu Hao said, pulling out a photo and pointing to a location on it, “Based on my previous investigation, this should be the entrance to the base.”
“You’ve investigated this far?”
Jack was amazed. Lu Hao shrugged, “If I hadn’t been missing a key, I would have gone in and moved the gold already.”
“……”
Jack remembered that before they left, Lu Hao had been trying to get him to copy a key to the base. Apparently, he already had a clear lead on Bukilao Qi’s base.
This guy… why didn’t you say so earlier? Maybe I would have been tempted to agree.
Of course, this was a joke. He, Asian Hawk, still had some professional ethics. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been trusted by the Earl so much.
“How do we get past the indigenous people!?”
Ada asked a key question. Lu Hao took out his Mini-Mi light machine gun, which was already loaded with a new 100-round belt. He looked at them with a puzzled expression, “Why avoid them!?”
“……”
Jack had a headache. If it was unavoidable, he still hoped for less bloodshed.
Especially since the indigenous tribe hadn’t provoked them. They were more like bandits breaking into someone’s house to loot and burn.
Ada and the others looked at Lu Hao as if he were a devil. Lu Hao shrugged and said, “Why are you all looking at me like that? I mean, I’m going to trade for the opportunity to enter the base.”
“After all, I’m not some kind of monster.”
He immediately chambered a round in his machine gun, “Don’t get me wrong, this is just a necessary safety precaution.”
“……”
Although Jack and the others didn’t believe him, as Lu Hao said, it was indeed necessary to prevent the indigenous people from suddenly attacking, for everyone’s safety.
“We have food, salt, and medicine in the car. We can trade some of it.”
Jack agreed with Lu Hao’s gentle approach.
“If so, let’s act quickly. Otherwise, if Adolf and his group of mercenaries arrive, we won’t be able to get into the base anymore.”
Lu Hao reminded Jack and the others that there was a group of ruthless and greedy mercenaries on their trail.
So, they hid the vehicles and arranged for the four local guides to watch over them.
Of course, they had to take the car keys. Otherwise, it was difficult to guarantee that these four guys wouldn’t have second thoughts.
Carrying some of the goods from the car, they entered through the gate. As they entered the passage, they quickly drew the attention of the indigenous sentries, who immediately stopped them.
“Don’t get us wrong, we’re here to trade.”
Jack smiled and pointed to the goods they had brought. Colonel Byrd and Colonel Banner drew their pistols and stood alert, preventing the indigenous people from attacking.
Lu Hao, on the other hand, raised his machine gun and scanned the surroundings, wary of any indigenous people who might be launching javelins from the shadows to attack them.
The two indigenous guards saw that Lu Hao and his team were numerous. They looked at each other and then began to dance, their hands waving wildly and their mouths chanting loudly. It was as if they were doing a folk dance.
Jack and the others were bewildered. Why were they dancing without saying a word? It wasn’t like they were filming an Indian movie.
Ada saw this and her eyes lit up. She said happily, “They’re dancing to express friendliness. Some tribes in Africa do have this custom.”
“Come on, come on, everyone, dance with them. Show them our friendliness.”
Ada started dancing, and Jack and the others, not knowing what to do, followed the desert expert blindly.
Lu Hao scanned his surroundings, turned his head and saw Jack and the others dancing awkwardly, and said in surprise, “Why are you all dancing? That’s their tribe’s dance to call for reinforcements!!”
“What!?”
Jack and the others were stunned and then turned around to see indigenous people with spears emerging from the surrounding walls as the two guards danced.
Damn, this is their dance for reinforcements.
Their faces turned green.
Ada felt so ashamed that she wanted to find a hole to hide in.
“Lu Hao, what do we do now? I can’t take on so many people by myself.”
They quickly huddled together. Jack wanted to discuss a strategy quietly. Lu Hao had already taken cover and set up his machine gun, “Tsk, in front of a machine gun, all beings are equal. No matter how many there are, I’ll kill as many as I can before my bullets run out.”
With those words, he fired a barrage of bullets with his machine gun, sending dirt flying from the walls and causing the indigenous people to quickly jump down and hide on the ground.
“Don’t worry about these indigenous people, we’ll just barge in.”
With a machine gun in hand, Lu Hao wasn’t afraid. He left this sentence behind and then led the charge, the machine gun’s incessant fire preventing the indigenous people from raising their heads.
Jack and the others could only quickly follow suit.
Although Lu Hao’s method was brutal, it was simple and effective.
“Follow me.”
Under Lu Hao’s leadership, they stormed through the passage.
Faced with the machine gun’s powerful firepower, the indigenous people dared not show themselves. They could only watch as Lu Hao and his team charged forward.
Soon, Lu Hao saw an entrance with some ox skulls as offerings. He knew that this was the forbidden land of the indigenous tribe, and also the entrance to the base.
“The base entrance is up ahead. Stick close to me.”
He was overjoyed. He didn’t hesitate to cross the ox skulls and rush into the passage. When he came out again, he was in the place that the indigenous tribe called the land of death.
