Chapter 8
A Tightly Knit Logic, Truly Worthy of My Senior Brother

It was the second day after he arrived in Ha岚 City.

Lin Chuan caused a stir.

In just one afternoon, he made all the police officers in Ha岚 City recognize him as the nemesis of criminals.

The truly ferocious police officer, Lin Chuan.

He single-handedly beat up over a dozen drug dealers.

And seriously injured them all, especially Xie Qi Chen. He only survived after being rushed to the hospital.

Even though their fate was sealed…

“Brother, the report is back!”

“Thirteen drug dealers, thirteen serious injuries. Xie Qi Chen had two surgeries but thankfully survived. Brother, I’m really impressed!”

When Zheng Bei returned to his office with the medical reports, his face was filled with smiles.

Actually, they all felt those drug dealers deserved to die.

They understood why Lin Chuan did what he did.

No one in the office felt displeased with Lin Chuan for being too rough.

On the contrary, it was precisely Lin Chuan's work style that allowed others to quickly understand him.

It was better for them to understand Lin Chuan rather than have him understand and adapt to them.

It was the same job, but because of the different approaches, everyone remembered Lin Chuan.

They truly understood how the nickname ‘Ferocious Police Officer’ came about.

“Didn't cause you any trouble, did I?” Lin Chuan awkwardly smiled.

Zheng Bei shook his head. “What trouble? We are doing our job. Besides, those drug dealers carried lethal weapons. If we didn't subdue them immediately, someone would have gotten hurt!”

“I just came back from Director Gao’s office. He said he wants to commend you. For dealing with such vicious drug dealers, you have to use thunderous methods!”

“You did the right thing this time. If it was me, I would have done the same!”

“To be soft on them is to be cruel to yourself!”

Everyone else nodded in agreement.

“Lin Shi-ge, I think Zheng-dui is right. We shouldn't be soft on those drug dealers, so you don't have to feel guilty about anything,” Zhang Xue Yao nodded quickly.

Zhao Xiao Guang laughed. “Lin Shi-ge, you wouldn’t believe it. When I went in with the team and saw all the drug dealers lying on the ground, eyes rolling back, I was so happy!”

“If I were in your place, I’d beat them all up too! Those people deserve to die!”

With their reassurances, Lin Chuan’s guilt subsided slightly.

His guilt wasn't because he was too rough on the drug dealers.

But he was afraid that he would cause unnecessary trouble for the task force.

Seeing that no one was blaming him, Lin Chuan nodded with a smile.

At that moment, Ding Guo Zhu ran out of his lab.

“Zheng-dui, Lin Shi-ge, new discovery!”

“Oh? What discovery? Tell us about it!” Zheng-dui and the others quickly walked towards Ding Guo Zhu.

Lin Chuan joined them and heard Ding Guo Zhu say, “I found a fourth person's footprints at the scene where Song Wen and Song Wu were killed!”

“This means there must be more people at the scene than just Song Wen and Song Wu. There is a fourth person who was also there!”

When Ding Guo Zhu finished speaking, Zheng Bei’s expression changed.

A fourth person was at the scene? Who was it, and what was their purpose for being there?

Just as Zheng Bei was thinking about the details, Lin Chuan’s voice came over, “Xiao Bei, come here!”

Zheng Bei turned back and saw Lin Chuan and Gu Yi Ran sitting at the conference table, flipping through some documents.

There were two files, one was Jiang Xiao Hai's previous statement. The other was the glass factory’s duty roster.

When Zheng Bei came closer, Lin Chuan pointed to the duty roster.

“I just went over this with Teacher Gu. Jiang Xiao Hai claimed in his statement that he was on duty that night and saw Song Wen and Song Wu taking an unknown person into the small white building, right?”

Zheng Bei nodded. “Yes, he said he was the one who opened the door!”

“But the duty roster from the glass factory shows that the person on duty that night wasn't Jiang Xiao Hai, but Song Wu!”

After Lin Chuan finished, Zheng Bei’s expression changed, and he quickly looked down at the two documents.

Sure enough, Jiang Xiao Hai’s statement didn’t match the duty roster.

He suddenly looked up at Lin Chuan. “Jiang Xiao Hai is lying?”

Lin Chuan nodded. “Yes, the duty roster can’t be faked, so the person lying is Jiang Xiao Hai!”

“I’ve also looked at this statement carefully.”

“Logically, if Song Wen and Song Wu were trying to make a deal with those outsiders, they would be very cautious!”

“Especially when they chose the glass factory. They must have planned it carefully!”

“On that day, Song Wu happened to be on duty, which makes sense.”

“Song Wu was on duty. No one else was in the factory, and no one would notice anyone coming in or out of the factory. They could do the transaction unnoticed.”

“If Jiang Xiao Hai’s statement is true, the outsider was carrying a bag and looked nervous. This means it was most likely drugs!”

“They would never choose to go into the factory with a stranger when an outsider was on duty!”

“So, there are only two possibilities. Either Song Wen and Song Wu are idiots, the kind who don't think for themselves. But would people like that be able to deal in white powder?”

“Then there’s the second possibility. Jiang Xiao Hai is lying!”

“He didn’t tell the truth. He has ulterior motives!”

After Lin Chuan finished his analysis, Zheng Bei fell into deep thought.

Gu Yi Ran looked at Lin Chuan with a hint of admiration in his eyes.

Just now, Lin Chuan found these documents and began studying them carefully.

Out of curiosity, Gu Yi Ran also looked at them for a while.

In just a few minutes, Lin Chuan found the clues.

This shows how carefully he analyzes cases and his logical reasoning.

He was even better than everyone else in the office.

Even Zheng Bei was a bit behind Lin Chuan in these details.

After a long silence, Zheng Bei nodded. “Shi-ge, you’ve awakened me from my slumber. Xiao Guang, bring Jiang Xiao Hai back!”

“Yes!”

Zhao Xiao Guang nodded and hurried out.

Everyone else looked at Lin Chuan with admiration.
