Chapter 20
Senior Brother, You Didn't Beat Him To Death, Did You?

The boss glanced at Zheng Bei.

He casually grabbed a stack of game tokens from the counter and handed them to Zheng Bei.

After receiving the game tokens, Zheng Bei smiled and said, "Bro, I was introduced by someone. I want to find Da Jin Ya to gamble a couple of rounds!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the boss looked at Zheng Bei again.

His expression held a hint of vigilance.

His brows furrowed deeply, and he glanced at Zhao Xiao Guang and Zhang Xue Yao behind him.

Clearly, the words Zheng Bei had just said were a code phrase.

And these code phrases were taught to him by Zhang Tao.

After a long moment, the man nodded and pulled out a walkie-talkie.

"Grasshopper, we have guests. Come out and greet them!"

"Okay!"

Soon, a voice came from the other end of the walkie-talkie.

Just a few seconds later, a secret door in the game hall opened.

A man emerged from within, walking to the counter and scrutinizing Zheng Bei and his companions.

"Who introduced you?"

"Oh, it was Madman. He introduced us!"

"Feng Ge? I haven't heard of him before!" The man called Grasshopper seemed thin and wiry.

He looked like a bare chicken frame, with no meat visible except for bones.

He curiously examined Zheng Bei and his companions.

Finally, he said, "Alright, since Feng Ge introduced you, come in!"

Zheng Bei nodded with a smile and followed Grasshopper into the secret door.

Upon entering the secret door, they found themselves in a corridor.

Dim yellow bulbs emitted a faint, shadowy light.

They could barely dispel the darkness within the corridor.

After walking no more than twenty meters, Zheng Bei heard a commotion coming from the end of the corridor.

Grasshopper turned his head and looked at them, saying with a smile, "This is your first time here, right?"

"Yeah, first time," Zheng Bei nodded.

"Let me tell you, the security here is top-notch. You can play whatever you want here, and no one will come to mess with you!"

"But, I'm warning you beforehand, play your games and don't cause trouble. Otherwise…"

"Is Da Jin Ya here?"

Before Grasshopper could finish his sentence, Zheng Bei interrupted him.

He turned back abruptly and glanced at Zheng Bei, "Dude, are you here to play or to find someone?"

Zheng Bei smiled and glanced at him, then continued, "Is Da Jin Ya here?"

"You damn son of a gun, are you looking for trouble?"

Grasshopper seemed to have sensed something was amiss. He yelled loudly.

The next moment, Zheng Bei kicked him to the ground.

Seeing the aggressive attack, Grasshopper scrambled to his feet and ran towards the inside.

Zheng Bei turned back and looked at Zhao Xiao Guang and Zhang Xue Yao behind him.

"You two be careful, our mission is to capture Da Jin Ya. Leave everyone else to Lao Xiong and his team!"

"Understood!"

Zhang Xue Yao and Zhao Xiao Guang both nodded.

While they were speaking, a dozen or so people appeared at the end of the corridor.

Each of them carried a stick or club. Upon seeing Zheng Bei and his companions, they immediately charged towards them.

The space in the corridor was narrow, barely wide enough for two people to walk side by side.

In such an environment, those with weapons naturally had no advantage.

When they reached the front, Zheng Bei and Zhang Xue Yao knocked down the first few henchmen to the ground, then continued towards the others.

They fought their way to the end of the corridor.

A spacious hall came into view.

This was their gambling den. It was fully equipped with everything, from slot machines and poker machines to pai gow tables and mahjong tables.

Seeing this scene, Zheng Bei was a little stunned.

"I've been a cop in Ha Lan for so many years, and I never expected to find such a big gambling house right under my nose!"

Then he took out his police badge and handcuffs.

Looking at everyone inside, he said, "Everyone be quiet. Police! Everyone get down on the ground with your hands behind your heads!"

When Zheng Bei finished shouting, everyone was startled, especially Grasshopper who had led them in.

He thought these people were just here to make trouble.

Who would have thought they were cops?

The next moment, the gambling den became chaotic.

Everyone tried to escape, and some of the gamblers even grabbed the cash on the tables, preparing to flee through another passage.

Zheng Bei sighed and shook his head, "It seems like you guys won't listen unless you get a taste of the law!"

"Go ahead, have some fun!"

As soon as the words left his mouth, Zhang Xue Yao nodded with a smile and charged straight towards the gamblers.

The back door of the game hall.

Lin Chuan, Gu Yi Ran, and Ding Guo Zhu were guarding the back door.

Time passed by minute by minute.

Ding Guo Zhu furrowed his brows and said, "Teacher Gu, Senior Brother Lin, do you think Da Jin Ya will really escape from here? What if he didn't take the back door? Or what if Zheng Team and the others couldn't handle it and got arrested instead…"

After he finished speaking, Gu Yi Ran didn't answer.

He also turned to look at Lin Chuan.

He seemed to want Lin Chuan to give an answer.

Lin Chuan smiled, "What are you two looking at me for? I can't see the future!"

"If Da Jin Ya didn't escape from here, then it can only be said that he's lucky!"

"Otherwise, he'll have to suffer a little pain!"

Hearing this, Ding Guo Zhu felt a chill down his neck.

He had witnessed Lin Chuan's brutality.

Any criminal who fell into his hands never escaped a beating.

A light beating at the very least, a trip to the hospital at the most.

While the three of them were talking, a sheet metal door was suddenly pushed open from inside.

Then a man with long hair and a beard appeared.

He looked panicked as he walked out.

When he made eye contact with Lin Chuan and the others, he quickly lowered his head and tried to walk past them.

However, Lin Chuan smiled and said, "Da Jin Ya?"

"Ah?"

The man was startled.

The next moment, Lin Chuan's fist struck out.

With just one punch, Da Jin Ya's eyes rolled up and he passed out.

Seeing this, Ding Guo Zhu furrowed his brow.

"Senior Brother Lin, you didn't kill him with that punch, did you?"

Lin Chuan walked closer, shook his head, "He shouldn't be dead. Not everyone's that frail."

As he spoke, Zheng Bei ran out from the door.

When he saw Da Jin Ya lying on the ground, he paused briefly.

Then he smiled and said, "Senior Brother, you didn't kill him, did you?"

Lin Chuan: "…"
