Chapter 46
Yang Mi Comes Knocking, Sweet and Childlike!

Tang Chen pulled open the tent flap and peered out, taking a look at her.

Yang Mi was standing outside, cautiously looking around, her face slightly flushed.

She seemed to be afraid of being discovered.

Tang Chen, used to her antics, smiled and asked, "Another mouse?"

“Ah?” Yang Mi's face turned red, she shook her head and said, “Captain, it’s not a mouse this time, it’s… I twisted my ankle…”

“Twisted your ankle?”

Tang Chen looked down at Yang Mi's foot, nodded and said, “Come in!”

During the day, Yang Mi never mentioned anything about a twisted ankle.

While walking, there was no sign of anything abnormal.

However, Tang Chen knew that Yang Mi wouldn't easily use an ankle injury as a cover, so there was a high chance her ankle was really hurt.

After all, she was a woman who cared about her image and was reluctant to show weakness in front of others.

“Captain, I’m sorry, did I interrupt your rest?”

Yang Mi crawled into the tent, looking at Tang Chen awkwardly.

“It's okay, I haven’t started sleeping yet!” Tang Chen glanced at her and asked, “How’s your ankle? Is it a bad sprain?”

“Hmm, it hurts a bit…” Yang Mi nodded, explaining, “I twisted it while carrying water during the day, but… it didn’t hurt much at the time, so I didn’t think much of it…”

As she spoke, she bit her lips and said, “But when I was about to lie down and sleep, my ankle suddenly started hurting badly. I was afraid it would delay tomorrow's work, so… I rushed to find you…”

In her subconscious mind, Tang Chen was omnipotent.

On this deserted island, Tang Chen was the only one she could rely on.

“You twisted it during the day?” Tang Chen frowned, asking, “Why didn’t you tell me then?”

Yang Mi lowered her head and said, “Because I didn’t want everyone to think I was slacking off. After all, we all have our own jobs to do!”

“You’re a fool, you ignored your ankle just for your image?”

Tang Chen glanced at her and reminded, “Your body is the most important thing, no matter what!”

He then said seriously, “What if you let your ankle injury worsen, then the program team sends you back to China. Will you have any regrets?”

“No, I don’t want to be sent back!” Yang Mi's eyes turned red with anxiety when she heard this, “Captain, I want to survive to the end with you, I want to accompany you to the Global Finals!”

“Then you can’t be reckless. If this happens again, you must tell me immediately!”

“Yes, Captain, I… I understand!” Yang Mi bit her lips, looking wronged.

Seeing her on the verge of tears, Tang Chen reached out and said, "Stretch out your foot, I'll take a look.”

“Hmm…”

Yang Mi responded, and quickly and cautiously stretched out her foot.

Since they had all just washed their feet before going to bed, there were still shiny drops of water on Yang Mi's instep.

Tang Chen picked up the nightlight and carefully examined Yang Mi's ankle.

He saw that Yang Mi's normally fair ankle was already slightly swollen.

However, thankfully, the swelling wasn't too bad, it should only be a mild sprain.

Thinking this, Tang Chen lifted Yang Mi's right leg and gently placed his hand on her ankle.

Perhaps because of the tension, Yang Mi’s snow-white ankle felt slightly cool to the touch, and he could feel some swelling.

“It’s okay, it’s not a serious injury…”

Tang Chen grasped Yang Mi's ankle and gently shook it.

“Hiss…”

Yang Mi flinched like a startled sparrow, hastily pulling back.

“Captain, it hurts…”

Yang Mi’s brows furrowed, she said pitifully.

“I know…” Tang Chen nodded, “My grip might be a bit strong, just bear with it!”

After he finished speaking, he moved his hand, and Yang Mi let out a loud "Ouch!"

Thankfully, she reacted quickly enough to stuff her sleeve into her mouth, preventing herself from screaming.

Otherwise, everyone in the camp would have been woken up by her.

Seeing her face turn red, Tang Chen released his grip and said, “It’s alright, you haven’t broken anything, just sprained a ligament. It’ll be fine after a few days of rest!”

“Really? Thank you, Captain!”

Yang Mi’s large, watery eyes were fixed on Tang Chen, her gaze filled with relief.

It was good that the injury wasn’t serious.

If she were forced to withdraw from the program because of this little thing, she would really regret it.

At this moment, Yang Mi sat quietly on the soft cushion in the tent, scrutinizing Tang Chen through the light.

The moonlight outside gently streamed into the tent, intermingling with the nightlight inside.

It draped a layer of silver gauze over this tranquil night.

The more Yang Mi looked, the more her face flushed.

She had never imagined that one day she would be in such close contact with the captain.

“Don’t move, I’ll help you apply some liniment!”

Tang Chen grabbed her right foot and picked up a bottle of liniment from the emergency kit provided by the program team.

Yang Mi nodded forcefully, behaving like a child.

She stretched out her legs and sat there, not daring to move.

Yang Mi’s legs were slender and well-proportioned, her skin was delicate and smooth, with a faint healthy glow.

Perhaps because of the tension, her toes were slightly curled, inadvertently revealing a kind of gentleness and playfulness.
