In modern occultism, there is a name that can be considered a faith, the “secret.chief.”
The so-called "secret.chief" refers to a being with great power and wisdom, whether a human or an extraterrestrial, who possesses a vast knowledge beyond words, almost omnipotent ability, and who imparts some of their knowledge to lesser magicians.
In the "Silver Star System" of the “Golden Dawn,” a famous magical society that had a profound influence on modern occultism, the “secret.chief” is the highest level of existence. It is divided into three tiers, the most basic of which is known as "(8=3)." This signifies the “understanding of divine will in human form,” that is, the “god of magic!”
Helena Blavatsky, a renowned modern occultist and the founder of Theosophy, is said to have been blessed by a certain "secret.chief," hence her wisdom.
The angel behind Roy is a “secret.chief.” According to the angel, it can be considered an extraterrestrial being that holds knowledge and lineage.
This angel has golden hair, a tall figure that shines with a pale glow, clad in a simple white robe, with bare feet that emit a soft radiance. It has an angelic halo above its head.
From a human perspective, its gender is indistinguishable. However, Roy feels that it should be referred to as "female." Perhaps it is because of Roy’s thought that the angel in front of him, both in its appearance and the feeling it gives off, is increasingly approaching the concept of “female.”
The “Holy Guardian Angel” Aiwass is its name. It is a “secret.chief” summoned by Aleister Crowley using the body of his beloved wife, a mysterious being.
Roy doesn't know when Aiwass appeared behind him like a spirit. Since Roy became conscious, he has been seeing Aiwass.
Roy once asked Aiwass why it appeared by his side, and Aiwass replied:
“You are an interesting person, an unexpected existence. You are the one I seek. I will observe you, find the place I've been desperately searching for, but couldn't find.”
Aiwass’s words are ambiguous, like a true mystic. Roy doesn’t feel annoyed by it, because a mysterious entity like Aiwass will not easily reveal the truth and knowledge. It's more like an observer, observing what it's interested in, such as Aleister Crowley and Roy Crowley.
A being like Aiwass cannot be a singular entity. It can be a “plurality,” meaning there is an Aiwass by Roy's side, an Aiwass by Aleister's side, all of them are Aiwass, collectively observing the father and son.
“Answering your question..."
Aiwass possesses emotions like joy, anger, sorrow, and joy. But Roy always feels a strange sense when facing it, as if there is an emotion beyond human comprehension in the depths of its emotions.
Its voice is slightly distant, like the static noise from an old television with a bad signal. According to Aiwass, it is because its words are difficult for humans to understand, hence the distortion.
“...The one dwelling within Laura Stuart’s body is the Great Demon, Choronzon. It represents the “333” and attempted to seize Aleister's body ten years ago. Somehow, it ended up in London, England.”
Aiwass's voice is always indistinct, like it's trying to translate some arcane language that humans can't understand into ordinary English. It sounds extremely awkward.
"Great Demon Choronzon? Since you are called the Holy Guardian Angel, is Choronzon a similar existence to you?"
Roy’s brow furrowed. If the demon dwelling within Laura is equal to Aiwass, then things will be very troublesome. He never expected the demon to be of such stature.
It's really interesting, thinking about their siblings. One with a great angel behind them, and one with a great demon residing within their body.
“You can think of Choronzon as a fallen angel. It is indeed similar to me… We, such beings, live in a higher phase called XXXX. We can only appear in the material world as ‘spirits’. As ‘spirits’, we cannot exert much influence on the material world. We need a physical medium to do it. That’s why Choronzon wanted to take over Aleister and Laura’s body. Without a medium, it would just be a ‘spirit’ that can only observe.”
A portion of Aiwass’s words was automatically censored. Roy knew that it wasn’t intentional, but when it uttered the term, his human brain couldn’t understand, so it was automatically filtered by his brain.
"I don't want to know Choronzon's origin. I only want to ask you, Aiwass, how can I expel the ‘spirit’ of that demon from Laura’s body.”
Roy interrupted Aiwass’s lengthy explanation, asking the most critical question for him.
"You can't."
Aiwass answered decisively.
“Then who can?"
“Aleister Crowley might be able to.”
“Where is Aleister now? I’ll go find him!”
This time, Aiwass did not answer Roy. This Holy Guardian Angel, a “secret.chief” from a higher phase, gave Roy a strange smile. “...Roy, I ask you, is Laura Stuart really your sister?”
“What do you mean?"
Hearing Aiwass's words and seeing its eerie smile, Roy was taken aback.
As Roy was about to continue questioning, Aiwass's radiant angelic form faded away before Roy.
Roy knew that as long as Aiwass didn’t want to, he couldn’t pry out more from it.
"Whew..."
Roy exhaled a breath of relief. He clenched his fist and walked to a floor-to-ceiling mirror.
He knew this was all because he was too weak, lacking enough power to be so passive. If he possessed immense strength and vast knowledge, he could try to expel the demon from Laura's body on his own. If he possessed great power and knowledge, he could find all the truth without relying on anyone else.
“Power, knowledge...”
Roy murmured. He had never desired power and knowledge so much.
Standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling mirror, Roy looked at his reflection. Although he was only fifteen years old, he was almost six feet tall. He had short, neat silver hair and an androgynous face that was so beautiful that it was impossible to tell whether he was a boy or a girl. Yes, it was a face that could be described as beautiful.
Roy knew that his hair and appearance were inherited from Aleister Crowley. Even though he had never seen the man he called "father,” Roy knew that Aleister was a charismatic man with long silver hair and an androgynous beauty.
Regardless, compared to his appearance before he transmigrated, he was much better-looking now.
"If I could look like this in the past, I probably wouldn't have had any trouble finding a girlfriend, right?"
Roy laughed self-deprecatingly, then turned his gaze to his eyes in the mirror.
They were a pair of black eyes, the only feature he inherited from his past self. Because those black eyes had two pupils, the legendary sign of a sage—double pupils!
In Chinese historical records, there were eight people who were known to have double pupils, such as Cangjie, Emperor Shun, Chong’er, and Xiang Yu. The Roy before his transmigration was also called Roy, but his surname was Luo and his given name was Yi, not the current one.
The former Roy was originally from Jiangsu, the land of the ancient Chu Kingdom. He had double pupils since birth and was often mocked by other children when he was young. When he grew up and read many historical books, he learned that "double pupils" were a sign of a sage. He was once so proud of himself that he thought he was the reincarnation of the King of Western Chu.
Until one day, Roy went to the ophthalmology hospital, and after the ophthalmologist said, "Double pupils are actually a form of pupillary adhesion deformity, an early sign of cataracts," he finally gave up his dream of being the King of Western Chu.
In the rest of his life, he had nothing to do with the King of Western Chu. Had you ever seen the King of Western Chu become a photographer, occasionally using his photography skills to take racy photos of girls?
Thinking of the funny things from the past, Roy couldn't help but laugh.
But soon he contained his emotions and focused his gaze back on his silver hair.
What color hair did the mother of this body have? He couldn’t remember... He inherited Aleister's silver hair. Did Laura's blonde hair inherit the mother’s hair color?
Is Laura Stuart really my sister?
Recalling what Aiwass said earlier, a faint fear rose in Roy's heart.
If Laura isn't his sister, then who is she? For so many years, she has been living with him through thick and thin, always smiling sweetly at him and calling him "brother,” occasionally acting like a silly airhead, making him laugh. Who is she?
Roy suddenly punched the wall beside him. Pain shot through his nerve endings, stimulating his brain. Bright red blood flowed down the wall from between his fingers.
"No, Laura is my sister, my sweet, lovely sister. No matter who she is, it can't deny that she is my sister!"
Roy said firmly, without any hesitation.
