Chapter 12
Uh oh! Someone's fighting!

Liang Lu was stunned by Qi Tongwei's aura, her heart racing, feeling like it would leap out of her chest.

She struggled to break free from Qi Tongwei's grasp, but it was futile.

She could only watch helplessly as Qi Tongwei's lips moved, spitting out words that made her heart pound with fear.

“Liang Lu, remember this. From today onwards, you will pay the price! You will regret your actions! You will know that no one can harm me, Qi Tongwei, without paying a price!”

Qi Tongwei's words instilled a sense of terror in Liang Lu.

She had never seen such an angry and resolute Qi Tongwei before. It felt like her world was crumbling.

She wanted to scream, to run, but her body felt frozen, unable to move.

Qi Tongwei released her, turned, and walked away.

She didn't know why she felt scared and uneasy, but she knew it was because of Qi Tongwei.

From that day forward, Qi Tongwei's life underwent a drastic change.

He was no longer a weak man, at the mercy of others. He became confident, strong, and ambitious.

He began to change the world in his own way, pursuing his dreams and beliefs.

And Liang Lu became one of the biggest enemies in his life. Their love and hate, their grievances, would become increasingly intense with the passage of time...

At this moment, Qi Tongwei was lost in his thoughts.

He was tall and imposing, with a heroic spirit radiating from his brow, but his eyes now held a depth and weight.

Suddenly, a series of hurried footsteps broke the silence.

Looking up, Qi Tongwei saw a middle-aged man rushing towards him.

The man was his teacher, Gao Yuliang.

“Tongwei, come to my office,” Gao Yuliang's voice held a hint of seriousness.

Qi Tongwei's heart skipped a beat. He knew that his teacher rarely addressed him so seriously.

He quickly followed Gao Yuliang, his mind filled with speculation. Had his recent actions disappointed his teacher?

Once they reached the office, Gao Yuliang gestured for Qi Tongwei to sit down.

His eyes, sharp as a hawk, scanned Qi Tongwei. After a moment of silence, he spoke, “Tongwei, your recent behavior has disappointed me.”

Qi Tongwei's heart trembled. He knew he had been a bit too flamboyant lately.

He quickly bowed his head and respectfully replied, “I apologize, teacher. I will be more careful in the future.”

Gao Yuliang sighed and continued, “Tongwei, you are a talented individual. I have never denied that. But you must understand, talent is a double-edged sword. Used well, it can lead to success; used poorly, it can destroy you.”

Qi Tongwei felt a flicker of understanding. His teacher was reminding him.

He lifted his head and looked earnestly at Gao Yuliang, waiting for his next words.

Gao Yuliang took a deep breath and continued, “Tongwei, you are aware of the recent political turmoil, aren't you? Handong Province is about to undergo a major political change. Those of us caught in the middle could easily fall victim to disastrous consequences.”

Qi Tongwei was taken aback. He hadn't expected his teacher to speak so seriously.

He nodded, indicating that he understood.

Gao Yuliang continued, “Tongwei, you are one of the students I hold high regard for. But I hope you will learn to hide your brilliance, to not be overly ostentatious. Only then can you protect yourself in the political struggles to come.”

A wave of warmth washed over Qi Tongwei. He knew his teacher genuinely cared for him. With a sense of determination, he replied, “Thank you for your guidance, teacher. I will keep your words close to heart.”

Just then, the office door suddenly swung open and a student rushed in.

His face was filled with terror as he exclaimed, “Teacher Gao, it's not good! There's a fight!”

Gao Yuliang and Qi Tongwei were both startled. They immediately stood up and headed towards the door.

Once they reached the outdoors, they saw a crowd gathered, pointing and whispering.

Qi Tongwei instantly recognized Hou Liangping and Chen Hai amidst the crowd. The two were entangled in a physical altercation.

He immediately rushed towards them, attempting to separate them.

But the two had already lost all reason, blinded by rage, and ignored any attempt at reconciliation.

He needed to find a way to stop the fight, or the consequences would be dire.

At that moment, an idea struck him.

“Stop! You're both going to get expelled if you keep fighting!”

Hou Liangping and Chen Hai paused in unison, startled.

They looked up at Qi Tongwei, a flicker of hesitation in their eyes.

Seizing the opportunity, Qi Tongwei rushed forward and pulled them apart, one by one.

The two finally snapped out of their trance and stopped fighting.

“What is the meaning of this? Why are you brawling in the courtyard?” Gao Yuliang demanded sternly.

Hou Liangping and Chen Hai both hung their heads in shame. They realized they had brought negative attention to the school.

Seeing this, Qi Tongwei stepped forward to play peacemaker. “Teacher, don't be angry. They were just messing around. They didn't mean for it to escalate like this.”

“Messing around? Look at the students around you! They're terrified!” Gao Yuliang rebuked. “You are students of Handong University, and you are brawling in the courtyard? What kind of conduct is that? Both of you, write me a written reflection and submit it to me tomorrow!”

The two quickly nodded in agreement, realizing they had truly gotten themselves into trouble.

Qi Tongwei also felt a pang of anxiety. This incident could potentially impact the future of all three of them.
