Chapter Eight: The Shield Charm, Forever God!
Dawn broke over the Gryffindor corridor. The sun had just risen, but five figures were already walking up the long, quiet staircase.
“Hurry up, Ron, we absolutely cannot be late today.”
Harry pulled the sleepy Ron by the hand and quickly walked towards the Transfiguration classroom.
Since he had already seen the screen yesterday and knew he would be late today, Harry, naturally, wouldn’t make the same mistake again.
Therefore, he got up early today, then pulled Ron along to get to class early.
While the sleepy Ron was still a little dizzy, he was still being dragged forward by his friend.
“Harry…” Ron rubbed his eyes, finally waking up from his slumber. However, when he saw the surroundings, he suddenly froze. After a long pause, he turned to Harry and asked,
“Harry… are you sure… you know the way around Hogwarts?”
“Huh?” Harry was a bit confused. “Is this a difficult thing? Can’t we just follow the way we came yesterday?”
“Ha!” Ron finally woke up completely. He covered his face and looked helplessly at his friend. “Harry! Actually, the paths in Hogwarts are alive. At every time period, the stairs beneath our feet will be rearranged in different forms!”
“What?!” Harry suddenly realized, he looked embarrassed at Ron and asked in a low voice, “So we…?”
“We’re lost.” Ron spread his hands helplessly.
In fact, in the movie, the reason Harry and Ron were late for Transfiguration was because they accidentally took a wrong turn and, unfortunately, ran into the caretaker, Argus Filch. At that time, they were lost and pushed open the wrong door at random. Filch discovered they were about to push open the exit to the outside corridor. They were in trouble.
If Quirrell hadn’t “happened” to pass by and “saved” them, they wouldn’t just be late. Instead, they would be sent to the dungeon to reflect.
Looking at the unfamiliar corridor, Ron could only say helplessly,
“Actually, we should have walked with Neville and Zhang Dong…”
“I… I thought you knew the way.”
“The fact is, I don’t know either.” Ron scratched his head.
Although he was a young wizard from the Weasley family, in fact, this was his first time studying here. He only heard Fred mention this staircase, but he didn’t actually know how to get around.
As the two young wizards were lost, a voice rang out in their ears.
“Oh, look at that, there are some poor young wizards who are lost. Do you need help?”
“Of course!” Harry answered instinctively. However, when he saw the figure in front of him, he took a step back in fear.
Because the one in front of him was not human, but...
Peeves the Poltergeist!
“Not good! Harry! Quick, go!”
Ron reacted! Almost in an instant, he thought of who this ghost was!
There were 142 staircases in Hogwarts. Even senior students might get lost, but it’s fine. As long as you meet Nearly Headless Nick, he will guide you. But if you are unlucky enough to meet Peeves the Poltergeist, you can only blame yourself because...
“Want to run? Since you're here, come play with me for a while! Hahaha!”
Peeves laughed wildly, and with a wave of his hand, the red carpet beneath Harry and Ron was instantly pulled away!
Thump!
Two small figures fell directly onto the stairs! Their weight was off balance.
“Ouch!”
Harry called out as he got up. Unfortunately, as soon as he got up, a wastebasket was directly flipped onto his head!
“Harry!”
Seeing his friend in trouble, Ron immediately pulled out his wand and wanted to take action against Peeves, but at this moment, a wastebasket also flew towards him.
Fortunately, Ron was prepared and raised his hand to knock away the wastebasket. But with this movement, Ron couldn't find Peeves.
“Where is he?”
Ron widened his eyes and looked for Peeves, but...
“Here!”
Suddenly, a figure appeared behind Ron. It was Peeves! He waved his hand! Ron’s little nose was directly grabbed in his hand!
“Hahaha! I got your nose!”
Peeves yelled happily, then squeezed it hard!
“Ah!” Ron could only squat down and cover his nose. When he raised his head, his originally well-proportioned nose had turned red and swollen. Snot and tears flowed down uncontrollably.
“Ron!” Harry, who had just removed the wastebasket, looked at his sad friend. He wanted to help, but he, who was attending Hogwarts for the first time, didn’t even know a single spell yet!
“Your turn!” Peeves screamed and rushed towards Harry Potter again.
At this moment, Harry didn’t know how to resist, and he could only try his best to cover his nose with his hands, hoping he wouldn't end up with a bruised nose like Ron.
“Protego!” A voice suddenly rang out.
Bang!
The next second, Peeves was like he had bumped into an invisible wall. “Ouch!” he cried out, then covered his nose and looked at the person. When he saw the person, he shouted,
“It's you!”
Then, he ran away as if escaping.
“Are you two okay?”
Zhang Dong, who had put away his wand, finally walked over leisurely.
“Zhang Dong! It’s good you’re here! Thank you so much!” Harry looked at Zhang Dong with surprise and expressed his gratitude. Though he didn’t know what the spell was just now, seeing him easily repel Peeves was cool!
I wonder when I can learn this spell!
Ron on the side also covered his swollen nose and kept thanking Zhang Dong.
“Your Shield Charm is so proficient! My goodness! How did you do it! You must have practiced hard! Just, why are you practicing the Shield Charm?”
Generally, young wizards can only barely master one spell before entering school. Most young wizards’ first spell is either an attack spell or a functional spell.
He’s the first person he’s seen who’s learned the Shield Charm right from the start.
To Ron’s words, Zhang Dong just rolled his eyes helplessly.
Just kidding, this is the first spell he learned in this world! Do you understand the gold content of the Shield Charm!
Don’t even mention it, just ask the players who have cleared Hogwarts Legacy, you can skip Avada Kedavra but who dares not learn Protego?
Protego! Forever God!
