“BOOM!”
The energy sphere that knocked down the Flame Demon Warrior crashed in front of him at the same time, sending soil flying nearly a hundred meters into the air, a certain "earth-loving" individual gave a thumbs up.
The light dispersed, and Nexus, radiating a faint white glow, stood with his back to the Flame Demon Warrior. His right foot planted firmly on the ground, his knee bent, his left knee rested on the ground, appearing in a semi-squatting pose.
His body was mostly covered in silvery skin, adorned with black lines. A dark red V-shaped energy core was embedded in his chest, used to measure Nexus's energy and physical condition.
It would flash if his energy reserves were depleted or Zhao Hao was seriously injured.
Nexus's time spent active on Earth wasn't limited, depending entirely on Zhao Hao's physical condition. If he was uninjured and not consuming energy, he could stay transformed for a whole day without the light flashing.
The Flame Demon Warrior lay on the ground for two seconds before getting back up. He looked at the silver giant facing away from him, filled with confusion, and used telepathy to speak to Nexus, asking, "Who are you? Are you also an Ultraman?"
Nexus slowly stood up and turned to face the Flame Demon Warrior. Zhao Hao didn't respond to the Flame Demon Warrior's question and simply walked towards him.
“Looking for death!”
The Flame Demon Warrior was filled with rage that he needed to vent. He had just forcefully suppressed Ultraman Tiga, leaving him feeling inflated with self-importance. He spread his arms in a fighting stance and charged towards Nexus.
Facing the charging Flame Demon Warrior, Nexus moved both hands simultaneously. His left hand blocked a punch, his right hand grabbed the Flame Demon Warrior's wrist, and then he leapt into the air, quickly kicking out twice. His right foot connected with the Flame Demon Warrior's waist, followed by his left foot hitting the Flame Demon Warrior's right cheek.
The Flame Demon Warrior was sent flying, while Nexus propped himself up with his right hand and stood back up.
As the Flame Demon Warrior crashed to the ground, more dirt flew up, filling him with disbelief. How was this possible? His current form had overwhelmed Ultraman Tiga in his Strong Type form.
His muscles had expanded, his body was even more robust, sharp armor protruded, and there were sharp protrusions on his wrists. His strength, defense, and close-combat attack output had all been greatly enhanced, allowing him to crush Ultraman Tiga's Strong Type with overwhelming power.
He had been sent flying with just one blow?
He had just gotten back to his feet when Nexus's Nexus Arms on both wrists collided, and his body instantly engaged in a high-speed movement, bringing him right in front of the Flame Demon Warrior. Before the Flame Demon Warrior could react, he clenched his fist and slammed it into the Flame Demon Warrior's chest, forcing him to stumble back three steps.
“Such incredible strength, but I am no slouch in the strength department either!”
The Flame Demon Warrior swung his arms back, steadying himself. He adjusted his posture and counterattacked, using both fists and feet, but Nexus remained still, allowing the Flame Demon Warrior to attack. When the attacks arrived, he didn't perform any exaggerated dodging movements. Instead, he simply read his opponent's attacks, using the smallest possible body movements to evade, minimizing unnecessary movements and wasting energy.
He had already figured out that this monster's movement speed wasn't particularly agile. It seemed they had prioritized body defense and attack power, sacrificing movement speed in the process.
While Nexus was battling the Flame Demon Warrior, three Night Raid Team's exclusive chromium-gold Chester fighters used their optical camouflage system to hide in the vicinity.
“What is this?”
Ishibori Mitsuhiko and Hiraki Shiori, seated within the chromium-gold Chester γ, were utterly astonished by the fight unfolding before them.
Two beings of such immense size engaged in combat, a sight they had never encountered in their years within the Night Raid Team.
In their missions, the Kaiju they had eliminated were, at most, ten meters in size. This was the largest they had ever encountered.
But now, two giants, each around fifty meters tall, were locked in battle. The sheer visual impact was overwhelming and left them in awe.
“CIC, are these also Kaiju?”
Wakura Eisuke inquired of Kirazawa Yuu in the combat command center. Although the Night Raid Team served as the primary force of attack, all their actions were subject to Kirazawa Yuu's commands. They couldn't act independently, completely under the control of the CIC.
Kirazawa Yuu didn't issue an order immediately but instead watched the footage being streamed from the chromium-gold Chester fighters. Frankly, he was equally surprised.
He looked at the fight displayed on his computer screen and thought to himself, "So, a Compatible Adaptee has emerged. But this humanoid monster isn't a Kaiju, its vibration wavelength is different. Just what is this creature's origin?”
Kirazawa Yuu was known as the "Precognitive" by the TLJ-J base personnel because he could anticipate the locations where Kaiju would emerge, but that was all. As for the Flame Demon Warrior, who had suddenly appeared in this world through a dimensional rift, he was truly in the dark.
“CIC, may we attack the two Kaiju?”
Seeing that the combat command center wasn't responding, Saijou Nagi, who was flying solo in the chromium-gold Chester α, asked with an air of hatred in her eyes.
Saijou Nagi held an absolute hatred for Kaiju because when she was a child, her mother was killed by a Kaiju right before her eyes. This became a darkness within her heart.
She joined the Night Raid Team with the sole purpose of wiping out all the Kaiju. In her eyes, anything that wasn't human was a Kaiju, including the two giant creatures below.
After a moment of thought, Kirazawa Yuu gave the order, "Saijou Vice Captain, target the silver giant. Wakura Captain, Ishibori and Hiraki, target the black humanoid monster.”
This was a "spread the love" approach, attacking both during the fight, to disrupt their battle. It was mainly because Kirazawa Yuu wanted to gauge whether this Compatible Adaptee was hostile towards them.
If they attacked and he didn't retaliate, it would mean this Compatible Adaptee had a good temperament and was a good samaritan. Then, if they needed to do something else in the future, like what Matsunaga Managing Officer was planning, like capturing, dissecting, and researching, this Compatible Adaptee might not be so merciless. Perhaps they could even cooperate to a certain extent.
If he did retaliate, then they would have to proceed with caution.
“Yes!”
Everyone immediately carried out their orders. Upon receiving the attack order, Saijou Nagi became incredibly excited. Without hesitation, she initiated an attack. Aiming at Nexus, she pressed the attack button, unleashing two blasts from the two medium-caliber machine guns on the fighter's wings.
Meanwhile, below, Nexus easily subdued the Flame Demon Warrior in his Strong Type, grabbing his right hand. Then, Nexus used his right hand to grab the Flame Demon Warrior's abdominal skeletal muscles, using his full strength to throw him.
As the Flame Demon Warrior was thrown, he fired a sphere of flame energy with his right hand. It was called an "獄炎弾" (Gokuen-dan, roughly translated as "Hellfire Bomb"). This attack was normally supersonic, and unless the distance was far enough, it was difficult to react.
Even Zhao Hao would have struggled to dodge it, but at the last second, he leaned to the side. However, the "獄炎弾" still grazed his shoulder and struck the mountain behind him, blowing the mountaintop away.
To dodge an energy attack at such a short distance was a testament to years of training that allowed Zhao Hao to develop exceptional on-the-spot reflexes.
Nexus glanced at his shoulder, where white steam rose, a burning sensation spreading across it.
