Inside the amusement park.
Jiang He looked at Shinjoh and Mayumi with a slightly pained expression. This wasn’t entirely because the plan to have Captain Ikari bury her face in his chest had gone up in smoke.
Instead, a certain plotline suddenly popped into his head.
Could this be the infamous “Monster Happy Park”?
“To think you actually called me a stupid brother in front of Jiang He Daochang and the Captain. It’s too much. Don’t you think this situation happened because of you?” Shinjoh finally lowered the hand covering his face, grumbling.
“Who told you to freak out like that? You caused so much trouble for Jiang He Daochang and Captain Ikari. You’re supposed to be a member of the Victory Team, you’re such an embarrassment!” Mayumi stuck out her tongue.
“Mind your own business, my precious day off is ruined because of you calling me here!” Shinjoh retorted, then awkwardly apologized to Jiang He. “I’m really sorry about earlier, Jiang He Daochang and Captain.”
Jiang He didn’t say much in response, instead letting Ikari handle the situation.
“We accept your apology, but it’s quite unexpected that you, Shinjoh, who always claimed that Hori and Nora were cowardly in the base, are actually so afraid of ghosts.” Ikari chuckled with a hint of amusement,
She realized that out of the seven members of the Victory Team, almost everyone was scared of ghosts.
She had to count herself in.
Earlier, she almost felt the urge to turn around and bury her face into the shameless fellow’s chest. Ikari rolled her eyes at Jiang He, a mixture of annoyance and amusement.
Now she understood why her husband had suddenly proposed going to the haunted house.
Jiang He coughed, feeling a little embarrassed at being caught red-handed.
“Speaking of which, why is the Captain here? And why are you together with Jiang He Daochang? Could it be... that something happened here?” Shinjoh asked tentatively after a brief pause.
He couldn’t help but think of the haunted house earlier. Maybe the Captain had invited Jiang He Daochang to investigate if there were any monster clues there?
“.....” Ikari suddenly felt concerned about her team's emotional intelligence.
Shouldn't they first guess that there was something unusual between her and A-nata?
She initially thought that if this incident were known to the big mouth in the Victory Team base, even the gossipy Lina would know about it.
The truth proved that her concerns were completely unfounded.
“Well, I guess it’s truly worthy of the title of the Victory Team’s notorious Crash Landing Prince. All you’ve got in your head are battle muscles,” Jiang He couldn’t help but mutter to himself.
He completely overlooked the fact that they had been holding hands since they left the haunted house. His thoughts immediately went to monsters.
He had to admit, though, that this time, Shinjoh had guessed half of it correctly.
He saw four kids arguing nearby, two boys teasing the one holding hands with his sister, calling him a coward for not daring to ride the rollercoaster.
Jiang He knew the monster hidden at the bottom of the amusement park was about to emerge.
He simply nodded and said, “Perhaps something has indeed happened here.”
“Something indeed happened, did you find traces of a monster?” Ikari asked him unexpectedly, her expression turning serious.
Even Shinjoh and Mayumi looked at him in surprise.
Jiang He didn’t say much, instead gesturing towards the distance with his hand.
Following his gaze, Ikari and the others quickly noticed that a giant unicorn had suddenly emerged from a patch of grass in the amusement park, standing upright in front of the two boys who had been making fun of the others just moments ago.
“This is a monster’s horn!” Ikari immediately took out her communicator and broadcasted the scene to the Victory Team’s command center.
“This is Ikari. Monster traces have been detected at the amusement park in D District, immediately dispatch Victory Falcon 1 and 2,” Ikari ordered the figures of Zong Fang, Daigu and the others appearing on the screen.
“When they arrive, make sure they bring liquid nitrogen, otherwise it’ll be hard to enter the amusement park. It’s probably the Barrier Monster, Gahdie.” Jiang He looked at the latest situation in the distance and reminded Ikari.
Suddenly, the monster's horn on the ground flashed with light, a pale yellow beam shot from its tip, rising into the sky, and then scattered in the air, spreading out like a parabola in all directions.
Eventually, it formed an invisible energy barrier, like a giant bowl, covering the entire amusement park. Several people who were heading for the exit bumped into it and fell to the ground.
“Barrier Monster Gahdie? So that’s what it means, it can create invisible barriers!” Shinjoh had already seen the strange situation happening at the edge of the amusement park.
There was even a biker who was heading for the exit, but suddenly hit something like a transparent wall, and fell hard to the ground.
“The monster’s about to move, before the Victory Team’s fighters arrive, we should evacuate the people inside the amusement park. I also plan to study a few things, so I’m going to leave now.” Jiang He glanced at the horn that was slowly retracting and the two whip-like tentacles that were taking its place, then said to Ikari.
If he stayed here, he wouldn’t be able to test the new powers he had just copied.
“I understand, be careful.” Ikari immediately nodded in agreement.
Since the incident with Giranbo, she had gained a lot of trust in her husband’s abilities and wisdom.
Besides, the monster was now active, and the people in the amusement park did need to be evacuated as quickly as possible within this barrier to avoid casualties before the Victory Team’s fighters arrived.
