......
Somewhere on Halloween night.
"I can't believe you actually chose this costume." Jūkan Hui smiled, her eyes crinkling with amusement, as if she was trying hard to suppress a laugh.
The two of them were strolling through the streets, which were becoming increasingly lively.
However, because Jūkan Hui said that Halloween needed a bit of ritualistic flair, and that they should dress up as ghosts like everyone else.
So now, Jiang He had simply put together a costume that was very much in line with the character "ghost," apart from a black cloak that matched Jūkan Hui's witch's robe.
He was wearing a mocking expression pack mask on his face, where a finger was poking his eyelid, and he was sticking his tongue out making a face.
Making a face, as the name suggests, is to make a face like a ghost, very much in line with the Halloween ghost costume setting, no problem.
A true understanding of ghosts!
"I think my mask looks a lot more like a ghost than yours," Jiang He commented, looking at Jūkan Hui.
Jūkan Hui was dressed completely as a witch, with a black pointy hat slightly askew on top of her head and a black cloak wrapped around her entire body.
Paired with her stunning beauty and mature charm, she wasn't even remotely scary when she smiled, in fact... she was quite beautiful.
Jiang He said that he wanted a dozen of such witches.
"I'll take that as a compliment, Anata-san." Jūkan Hui seemed in a good mood, smiling with a slight curve of her lips.
Then she let Jiang He hold her hand and continued to wander around.
She even occasionally blended in with a group of children, playing the role of those who would knock on other people's doors for candy and threaten to play tricks if they didn't.
It made Jiang He feel a bit amused and dumbfounded, his mature wife seemed to have a bit of a childish side after all.
"Mommy, that big sister is so beautiful, she's totally different from the witch Obasan who gave out candy earlier," a little girl passing by said to her parent, pointing at Jūkan Hui.
"Candy giving witch?" Jiang He heard the little girl's words and immediately guessed who it was.
It seems that the interdimensional person, Kirandobo, has appeared.
"The little one is so cute, here's some candy for you, sister." Jūkan Hui smiled gently as she squatted down, patted the little girl's head, and handed her a piece of candy she had taken earlier, radiating a motherly glow.
After watching the little girl leave with her parents thanking her, Jūkan Hui stood up and exclaimed, "I didn't know there were kind old ladies dressed up as witches on Halloween, giving out lollipops to children."
"I think the word 'kind' is completely redundant," Jiang He shook his head and looked at the distance, locking onto his target.
At that moment, next to a decorative mirror, there was a figure dressed as a witch with a rather ugly appearance, standing in front of a small cart full of lollipops and calling out, "Children with dreams, come on over! If you have a lot of dreams, then I have a lot of candy to reward you."
"Grandma, I want some!"
"I want some too!" A group of children surrounded the witch, excitedly raising their hands.
"Is there something wrong with this?" Jūkan Hui also looked in that direction, asking in confusion.
She couldn't see anything unusual about the witch herself or the small cart, no matter how she looked, except that the witch was so ugly it was scary, her face was like it had been splashed with sulfuric acid.
"Normal people don't have shadows in the mirror," Jiang He hinted to Jūkan Hui.
"It's true, there's no shadow!"
Jūkan Hui looked towards the decorative mirror next to the woman, and she was immediately surprised.
She could only see the small cart and the children surrounding it in the mirror, but the old witch was nowhere to be seen.
She absolutely didn't believe that such a person would kindly give candy to children!
This made Jūkan Hui immediately turn to Jiang He with a question.
"It's very likely to be an interdimensional monster or something." Jiang He nodded and gave her a firm answer.
Then he immediately added, "But when you send a message back to Victory Team, remember to include this consultation fee."
Hearing his deliberate addition, Jūkan Hui couldn't help but roll her eyes at him, then immediately took out the communicator she was carrying.
She kept an eye on the witch while sending a message to the Victory Team base.
Soon, the communicator connected.
"This is Jūkan Hui, KM209 area, there is a possible monster, an interdimensional person, appearing, send someone here immediately to investigate, and it's best to take them into custody," Jūkan Hui immediately said to the other side after connecting.
"Uh, Captain, you also noticed something wrong there?" In the command center, Nori was stunned.
He was debating with the Vice Captain and Horii about whether to interrupt Jiang He's date with the Captain and report the strong abnormal magnetic field detected in the KM209 area.
Now the Captain directly confirmed the existence of a possible monster appearing there, and even speculated that it might be an interdimensional person.
But it was obviously something Jiang He had figured out.
And...
The three of them found, with a sense of despair, that Jiang He and the Captain were wearing matching Halloween witch cloaks.
This made the three of them silently sigh, "Dog food is truly everywhere."
......
While Jūkan Hui was ordering the Victory Team base to send someone over, Jiang He noticed that the old witch figure seemed to have sensed something amiss.
After glancing at them with a suspicious look, she immediately pushed the children away, "Okay, that's it for today, everyone move aside."
The witch figure ignored the people around her, pushing the cart and leaving quickly, "That man wearing the weird mask seems dangerous."
"She's going to escape...!" Jūkan Hui was just about to pull out her laser gun to give chase, when Jiang He stopped her.
"If the other party is really an interdimensional person, then your laser gun won't pose any threat." Jiang He shook his head and stopped her, "Leave it to me to check it out, I know more about this than you."
