“This was all created by Roa and the residents of End Station,” Fujitora said, his eyes though blind, were very clear, “The current End Station is completely different from when we first arrived.”
The emotions in the hearts of everyone here were the best proof of this.
“Roa? Is that the young man from before?” Naguri asked in surprise. He had felt from the beginning that this young man seemed to hold a high position here.
“Yes, it’s him,” Fujitora nodded.
“Unbelievable, unbelievable. Such a young boy can achieve this kind of miracle.” Naguri used “miracle” to describe the changes here.
For him, who knew what this place was like before, this change was truly a miracle.
Accompanied by Fujitora, Naguri toured the entire camp. His expression went from initial shock to a mixture of emotions in the end.
“Old man, from your tone, have you been here before?” Fujitora asked.
Naguri, here with them, was still the mysterious pirate who had fought against Roger, and he was still very dangerous. Fujitora wanted to know his origins and get more information about him.
“You might not believe me, but I grew up here,” Naguri said with a sigh.
“I grew up in the Uncertain End Station. I lived here for over twenty years. I know the harsh environment here better than anyone else. That’s why I escaped, no matter what, and became a pirate.”
“Time flies, it’s been over forty years. I thought I’d never return here, but I’m back after all.” Naguri’s expression seemed somewhat relieved and relaxed.
At first, he was very wary of Roa and this camp, after all, he had been seriously injured.
But after discovering that this place was the Uncertain End Station where he grew up, he developed a great fondness for Roa, who had transformed everything here.
After touring the entire camp, he had a general understanding of the situation here.
During this process, his wariness of Fujitora and Roa had actually diminished considerably.
After being a pirate for so many years, with such rich life experiences, Naguri wouldn’t be far off when it came to judging people.
He knew exactly what the Uncertain End Station was like before, and he also knew how difficult it would be to transform it into what it is now.
The person who could achieve something like this was definitely not a bad person.
So, faced with Fujitora’s question, he easily revealed his identity.
“A pirate?” Fujitora also feigned surprise.
“Yes, a pirate. But you can rest assured, I’m not some vicious pirate. I’ve never plundered civilians.” Naguri explained.
“I believe you.” Fujitora, with his Observation Haki, could sense that Naguri wasn’t a vicious person.
“You can stay here and recover for the next few days. Don’t worry about anything else. After you’ve recovered, you can decide whether to stay or leave.”
“Thank you.” Naguri expressed his gratitude.
Fujitora didn’t say anything more but turned and left.
This brief exchange allowed Fujitora to confirm what kind of person Naguri was.
He wasn’t worried that Naguri would do anything to this place.
He could even feel that the aging Naguri had some indescribable feelings for this former homeland, once filled with ugliness.
Maybe he would stay here after a few more days.
Fujitora was very accurate at judging people. After blinding himself, he gained something even more precious.
Time passed bit by bit. Five days had passed since Naguri was rescued.
With his strong physique, Naguri had completely recovered within these five days.
Roger’s strike was meant to be merciful. For someone of his level, it wasn’t fatal.
During these five days, Naguri truly lived like a normal old man, blending into the camp.
In the mornings, he followed the training, and in the afternoons, he worked in the fields and chatted with some of the elders in the camp.
In the evenings, he even participated in the camp’s ideological studies.
After learning Naguri’s information from Fujitora, Roa gave him the green light.
To be honest, their current daily routines didn’t have anything that needed to be kept secret from within the camp.
Naguri would often approach Roa with questions, some of which surprised Roa.
Both parties gained a lot from their exchanges.
Roa’s advanced thinking and methods helped explain many of Naguri’s doubts, doubts that had accumulated during his forty years of sailing the seas.
And Roa, in turn, absorbed the rich life experiences of this sixty-to-seventy-year-old man, gaining a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of the current state of the world.
A sixty-to-seventy-year-old man was considered long-lived in this chaotic world, and even more preciously, he had been sailing the world for forty years.
His experiences and insights were an invaluable treasure.
In their conversations, Naguri seemed to be thinking about something. Finally, after their exchange that night, he made his decision.
“Mr. Roa, can a former pirate like me join the Revolutionary Army?” Naguri asked seriously.
Naguri had been contemplating this matter for some time.
After being defeated by Roger, he had basically given up his pirate life in his heart.
He wasn’t without the desire to find his lost comrades, but he ultimately abandoned this idea.
He was almost seventy years old, and his old buddies weren’t young anymore. At this age, he began to think about other things.
He had once set sail for the sea to escape this place, and the sea had embraced his forty-year journey. But now, he suddenly wanted to do something else.
This thought was initially light, but during his time in the camp, it had taken root and grown in his heart.
The hometown he had fled for forty years, a place filled with painful memories, now looked peaceful and full of hope when he looked back.
This feeling was both shocking and inspiring. He felt fulfilled during his time here.
He had never felt this fulfilled before. In his childhood, he had dreamed of this scene more than once in his sleep amidst this garbage dump, and now it had become a reality.
He wanted to join the Revolutionary Army. Here, Naguri saw hope for changing this decaying world.
“As long as you haven’t committed any unforgivable crimes, the Revolutionary Army will not refuse a comrade like you.”
“Welcome aboard, Comrade Naguri.” Roa smiled and extended his hand.
Naguri extended his hand in a daze. He seemed to see the sea in this young man, the vast and boundless sea of embrace.
