Chapter 4
A Psychic Emerges at Totsuka High, Causing an Uproar

“Alright, Toriyami-san.” Gu Cheng quickly interrupted her, fearing that she might say something even more outlandish. “We were just… discussing club activities.”

“Club activities?” The math teacher looked at them suspiciously, feeling that something about the two was strange, but couldn't quite place it.

“Yes, Teacher, we're planning a new club called the ‘Supernatural Phenomena Research Club’. We were just discussing our recruitment plans.” Gu Cheng said smoothly, lying without batting an eye.

“Supernatural Phenomena Research Club?” The math teacher paused, then shook her head, amused. “Gu Cheng, I know you and Toriyami-san are both interested in these strange things, but you need to separate time and place. This is class time, so stop discussing things unrelated to your studies.”

“Yes, Teacher, we understand.” Gu Cheng nodded in agreement and pulled Toriyami Rikka to their seat.

However, even after Gu Cheng and Toriyami Rikka returned to their seats, the murmuring in the classroom was like a pause button, merely lurking, waiting for its chance to erupt.

“Ding——!”

As expected.

The moment the bell rang for the end of class, the math teacher barely stepped out of the classroom before the room exploded.

Whispers mixed together, creating a chaotic din, like a busy market.

“Hey, Gu Cheng and Toriyami Rikka are hanging out together, could they both be chuunibyou?”

The boy sitting in the back corner of the classroom whispered, his voice filled with incredulity, as if he had seen something incredible.

“There’s nothing normal about them, they’re probably just pretending! Think about it, who would normally get close to a chuunibyou like Toriyami Rikka?”

Another voice immediately chimed in, with a clear note of mockery.

The words quickly reached Gu Cheng's ears.

“Ugh, what a shame, he’s so handsome, but he’s a chuunibyou…” A girl said, feigning regret.

But her voice couldn't hide a hint of schadenfreude.

Even if Gu Cheng didn't care about what others said, or Toriyami Rikka was used to it all.

Those scattered taunts, like persistent flies, buzzing around, were annoying and hard to ignore.

Gu Cheng turned his head to the back of the classroom where a group of boys and one girl were gathered. They were all grinning maliciously, pointing at him and Toriyami, whispering to each other.

A boy with dyed yellow hair was particularly enthusiastic, mimicking Toriyami Rikka’s voice exaggeratedly, vividly recounting the events on the rooftop to those around him, his spittle flying, earning laughter from the others.

“Is it so funny?”

At this moment, Gu Cheng asked calmly. His voice was not loud, but it seemed to carry an inexplicable chill, making the air around them seem to freeze.

But those people didn't seem to notice the change in Gu Cheng's tone, and they continued their idle chatter.

The yellow-haired boy even pointed at Gu Cheng and Toriyami Rikka with his finger, whispering: “You know what, maybe they were practicing the ultimate skill of Evil Eye on the rooftop? Hahahaha…”

He kept his voice low, thinking that only a few people around him could hear.

However, he didn't notice that Gu Cheng's gaze had landed on him.

As a result.

Before he could finish his words.

The next second.

Under the puzzled and curious gazes of the other students in the class.

Gu Cheng slowly raised his right hand and lightly waved it towards the back of the classroom.

“Boom——!!”

A deafening roar, like thunder out of the blue, exploded in the classroom!

Several desks in the back of the classroom, along with the yellow-haired boy and the others sitting on them, were as if they had been slapped hard by an invisible giant hand. They were lifted into the air without warning! The desks tumbled in the air, books and pencil cases scattered all over the floor.

“Ah——!”

Screams, cries, and the sound of broken desks mixed together. The quiet classroom was instantly thrown into chaos.

The yellow-haired boy, caught off guard, was knocked to the floor by the force.

He felt dizzy, his back slammed heavily on the hard floor, his vision went black for a moment, and he almost passed out.

Before he could struggle to get up, a heavy wooden chair fell from the sky and “bang” landed right on his head.

“Ouch!”

The yellow-haired boy let out a cry, clutched his head, and rolled on the floor in pain.

Seeing this, the other students panicked and fled to the outside of the classroom, fearing they might be hit by flying desks.

The entire classroom was in disarray, as if a bomb had been dropped inside.

“What happened?!”

“Was that an earthquake?!”

“It was Gu Cheng! Gu Cheng he…”

The students looked at the incredible scene in front of them in terrified shock. No one dared to believe that all of this was caused by Gu Cheng, the usually meek and mild-mannered student.

“Finally quiet down.”

Gu Cheng retracted his right hand and calmly looked around.

The once noisy classroom was now silent, you could hear a pin drop.

Everyone in the corridor had their eyes on him, filled with surprise, fear, and an indescribable awe.

The air was filled with the acrid smell of dust and the splinters of broken desks.

The desks closest to Gu Cheng were completely unrecognizable, the twisted metal legs silently accusing the terrifying power that had just been unleashed.

The yellow-haired boy and the others who had been sitting on the desks were now sprawled on the floor.

They were all bruised and swollen, groaning in pain, clearly badly injured.

The sudden loud noise also alerted students and teachers from other classes.

“What happened?!”

“Did something explode?!”

“Go and check it out!”

There was a commotion in the hallway.

Then, a large group of students and teachers poured out from the various classrooms, rushing towards the scene — Gu Cheng's class.

“Be quiet! Don’t cause a disturbance!”

A commanding voice rang out and the crowd automatically parted, forming a path.

Teacher Hinazura rushed over, followed by several nervous-looking teachers.
